D/? for Leveling?

So, I'm just coming back to the game and before, I had only gotten to level 10 on one class so I still don't know a whole lot. I'm wanting to start fresh with a druid. I'm usually a healer in mmos that dabbles in tanking if possible. I'm a horrible, horrible dps.

That being said, what would be a good combination that's not excruciating to level? I'd really like to be able to heal instances in addition to normal questing.

Levelling I would go with Druid/mage as it has some nice instants and stuff from the mage side that helps with your damage.

Once you hit endgame you'll want to use Druid/Scout in instances.

If you play P/K in instances you're garbage

To be honest, just grab some dirty mattk statted pieces and level up with whatever druid combo you feel like playing. Test them all out. At the lower content, your dps wont really vary from druid combo to druid combo. Roots and silences are ok for some leveling, but they're not going to help you with elites/bosses. Heal-tanking ftw.

More popular druid combos (at least on reni) seem to be D/S, D/M, D/W. (in that order)

This is a great thread and very informative! I was looking to start a Druid as my first character, having loved the class in other games, and wanted to pair it with a Warden so I had a pet.

If you're looking to heal as a Druid, I would suggest having a Scout or Mage as a third, since Druid/Warden isn't that good of a healer. I haven't really tried out Druid/Warden much, so I can't offer much advice on it.

I will say, that you won't be able to use the Warden's pet on your Druid, since it's a Warden-only skill. However, if you go Warden/Druid, you'll be able to use your pet and have heals.

Either way you slice the pie, D/X is a slow killer due to 2 second cast on its main skill. However, you can use sandstorm, mother nature's wrath + extra DoT, and the D/Wd enhanced Rockslide to kill quest mobs quickly with mage gear on. They have good self healing too which is a bonus.

Later the enhanced Rockslide on D/Wd can 1 shot people in siege (as mage build), and you get to laugh at them from your corpse. Man I hate that 5 second animation timer. I wish it was just insta-cast, even with a 5 second CD.
