Any tips for a newb warlock?

Hi guys!
I just started making a Wl/R or R/Wl (3rd class still empty). Do you have any tips on there I should put my TP? I'm just lv4 now and I haven't put them anywhere because I don't want to screw anything up. What are some warlock skills that I must have and can't go wrong with putting TP in?

Thanks

Is it safe to max/invest in "Weakening wave curse", "Warp charge" and "Perception extraction" ?

Yes all those skills, and your rogue side shadowstab because when you get your elite for warlock it will be your main attack.

Yes I heard the 20/20 elite kicks ass, by rogue side I will max shadowstab also low blow and wound attack and go for elites on r/wl (soul stab also looks appealing), but that's more of a rogue discussion :)

What do you guys think about Surge of Malice or Heart Collection Strike?
I'm 28 now btw

Surge of Malice is not a very good skill IMO. It is a good AOE for questing. But only for AOE stuff. End-Game though, it's not amazing.

Heart Collection Strike is one of the best skills a Warlock gets. It's probably it's second strongest skill if used right, but it also gives the warlock pretty much infinite focus if you keep it on cooldown.

Im currently 72/51 Warlock/Champion. Loving it, having trouble gearing though. But I can already buff to over 130k HP, 120k MA, and 25k Int. Not even half geared. The class is gonna be intense later on.

Good thing I just got Heart Collection Strike. And I absolutely LOVE shadowstab now. This class is getting awesome! BTW, what weapon is optimal to use? Now I'm doing wand+dagger and I like it!

Unlike Champion this is a very expensive class to build. Unlike my rogue I feel putting HP on this class is a waste, 6% all attributes buff is quite the buff when you put it in terms of 20k Int, add a hero pot and you're a monster.

But I'm going sta/int int/ma, that's all you need, which of course costs an Arm and a leg, I'm really missing Krolin right now. I'm a quarter geared at level 63 with mostly Tomb stats I can easily farm. But given how much fun both wl/r and r/wl are I will be gearing. I have 7k Int and 37k ma with very little stating

So full geared and stated your gonna have over 260k HP, @240k MA, and 50k Int. That is really high numbers, I have no idea how good that warlock class is but if it's as good as you say then I will make a warlock myself lvl it up and throw all my mage gear on it.

My gear plan will be

Int/ma x3
Int/sta x2
sta/ma x1

Sta/ma can be farmed in AC easy mode so you will need a random extractor for it, but easy mode is really easy. Right there is 755 int and 450 Sta add your Int multiplier, if your a wl/m double that Int bonus. And of course your armor bonuses. There was a picture floating out there of a wl/m with 34k InT. You get 2ma per Int, that's 68k ma just from Int.

So yeah your hitting bosses for 1.5 mil puzzlement, and 900k psychic arrows. So if you have a pile of money you can be a wl/m m/wl that everyone runs from. Oh and you get your 30 minute 6% all attributes buff. You will make m/p cry into their pillows.

Staff, we look at it with our OP m/r you would have to T10 both dagger and wand to get the same damage as a T9 staff, but you would still loose alot of MA. Plus bet on going to instances as wl/m your willpower construct elite buffs your int by 30%. Meaning boss burn. Oh and please everyone your first two attacks needs to be mallice then warp. Your cast speed will go way up and spam psychic arrow to hot 6psi really fast.

Don't you think it would be better to use
Int/ma x3
Int/sta x3
or
Int/ma x3
Int/sta x2
Int/hp x1
With all the int multiplier buffs int would give more mattack than just raw mattack, so 6x /int buffs would give you more mattack than just 5x /int stats.

You could go either way, im sticking to sta/ma cause it is really easy to get in AC. 6 Int is 900 or so Int for a wl/m heck even m/wl that an additional 16-18 % Int. ADD sublimation (6%) and a hero pot and you are pushing 43% Intel increase so lets say and additional 390 Int, so each piece of gear nets you 2400 ma just from Int, add in 3 raw MA your at 3500 ma give or take, so right there is 52.5k MA. Buffed with 19.5k Int.

These are just stats, ghost stats are not included here. Now lets say you go

Int/ma x3
Int/sta x3
you are sitting at 8k Sta (buffed)

So even if you had DL gear, you are doing good. So yes even with my rough no calculator math you are right about the stat build as optimal. I'm sure someone can clean all that up to put together a guide, I was just working it all out loud. I would stay away from HP, sublimation makes this a solid stat build.

But keep in mind as a wl/m Int in an instance will be buffed by 43%, where my r/s will only ever get 29% dex. That gives a massive advantage to you wl/m. Don't get the class nerfed! Honestly a bunch of m/p could swap gear to m/wl, and have a wl/m roll into an instance with them. Buff them then hit the 20% MA buff for 30 seconds and you would see a boss burn so fast it would make scouts in chapter 3 look like w/p's. Okay enough of my bad math and thinking out loud.

There is a problem with warlock. Once you get 6 psi and enter any of those two states you only get 6 psi to use and after that you have to wait for 12-10 seconds because you can't build psi in those states and you also can't get out of that state.
And in Willpower blade state you get the best attacks and in Willpower construct you get the best support skills.

So dev should make it that even in those two states we can still build psi to use our best skills or make it that after the psi gets to 0 the state disappears. That way warlock can be ether building psi or using it and not have wait till one of those states ends.

They should just completely revamp the entire Psi system entirely. It's stupid and needs to be changed to be more accessable. It's nearly impossible to get into the Willpower states and get your good skills off to put them to use around the same time as other people in order to do your cooldowns to maximum benefit. Psi should never go away unless you use it. The fact that it goes away extremely fast when you're out of combat is a joke to me. It should stay there until you spend them, like the Nature Point system. And you should be able to get more than 6 Psi at once, at least 10 should be available.

Absolutely agree, skills are useless, a boss is usually burned by the time you get one skill off, and you are forced to spam psychic arrow to get to 6 psi. Your most powerful skills are locked away and reserved only for boss fights. Give them a cast time or a CD but drop this psi point thing. I've only been able to Use my rez once in RT on last boss.

On a separate note warlocks lack a buff or two, I think they designed the class strictly for boss fights, cause you get sublimation, and then instance buffs. I absolutely love my wl/r but the class has to be able to do more then fight bosses.
