Well if you want me to be honest here it goes, R/d is a broken class... wont do much dps on instances later on, but you have the ability to pick a third class so it doesnt matter. D/r is like a mage, has to be built like one, although it doesn't get as close as the dps of a mage... but for pvp it can work... also D/r is the worse druid for healing because it doesnt have any extra elite skill to improve such ability... my recommendation would be pick scout as third class, D/s is one of the best healer in-game, and R/s is the best rogue dps... and you can play around with those classes... good luck

As Ciclon said, if you want to play at endgame and be viable, neither class combo is very good. Choose a different one, or just play to please yourself and don't plan on going Tosh etc any time soon.

R/D suffers from the lack of a decent non-energy attack, so a lot of the time you'll just be sitting there twiddling your thumbs or healing (lol) yourself for kicks. It's easily the worst rogue combo available, though it's probably viable just for PvP due to the fact that it is a rogue.

D/R has nothing to help with heals, and its dark damage elites are pretty much useless, as the dark damage buff to increase the dark damage skills is less than the earth damage passive all druids get. In short, Earth Arrow will always do more damage than PWE, until they decide to buff it.

If you're not looking to play a healer, I'd suggest a caster with a healer secondary (M/P, M/D, maybe Wl/P). D/R won't keep up with damage at all in PvE and won't be able to heal any high end instances. If you have your sights set on rogue, R/S and R/Wd are both good for PvE and PvP.

I play an R/D myself and really do enjoy it, the latest change to double throw fixed most of the DPS problems that the rogue has late game, we will wont have the general passives that most other classes get, but we do get an AoE that scales off of Physical Damage, an AoE heal/buff (the heal is not anything special). Also your 50/50 elite skill (Quick Light Protection) will proc off of heals and heal for 100% of your attack damage.

If you want to play as a hybrid playstyle you will have to keep in mind that other rogues will laugh at you and healers will hate you, the only way to do it is to use items with Healing Power Increase Points and stat it as a Rogue would (gimping the base slot stats that it would have normally and being forced into cloth instead of leather for some cases if that is how far you are willing to go with it). You will never fully match up to either one if this is the case, however soloing and Duo runs will become significantly easier to do this way.
