Champion/Warlock

I have Champion/Rogue as my main set up, but I have warlock as my third class. I was trying out Champion/Warlock for a few days while questing in the Land of Malevolience.

I usually open with Rune Pulse and then Warp charge for the attack speed boost. Then I have to sit and wait for rage. Except to keep the warp charge buff up I do not use any other warlock skills. Then I keep Rune Pulse -> Rune Siphon -> Dark Energy Strike. I think the set up lacks compared to Ch/R and doesn't feel very fluid. I haven't done any boss fights as champion/warlock so I do not know how it handles in a longer fight.

Has anyone else tried this combo and what do you think?

Champion/Warlock looks like they're again trying to make some sort of a hybrid character that able to do multiple kinds of damage. It doesn't seem to be working as there's no mastery for it's Dark Damage, so it'll be really low damage. A lot of the combos of it seem to be interesting, I like the new aspect of resetting cooldowns that they added to the classes; they seem to work well with Champion.

Over all, I'd say stick with Ch/R. It's a class I very much want to try out. I have a Wl/Ch, loving it so far, but It's hard to gear up now that everything is so expensive and there's a lack of ABLs.

Ok I ran some GCH with my guild as CH/WL as dps.

Here are my observations about dpsing as CH/WL. First Skills observations. This is with Soul Forge Mystery+60 and Forge active.

These are some number I gathered while attacking Plump Hares lvl 70-72 in the Ancient Kingdom of Rorazan
Electrocution +72 hits for about 43k (non Crit) and 61k crit
Dark Energy Strike +72 hits for about 37k + 2500 dark magic damage (non crit) and 53k + 2500 dark magic damage (crit)
Rune Siphon +72 hit for about 27k + 1800 dark magic damage and healed 2554 life (non crit) and 40k + 1800 dark magic damage and healed 2554 life (crit)
Energy Influx Strike + 64 29k (non crit) and 41k(crit)
Heavy Bash +67 30k (non crit) and 41k (crit)
Rune Pulse +72 74k (non crit) and 105k (crit)
Fearless Blow (below 30% health) 51k (non crit) 73k (crit)

Cycling in buffs from Forge, Soul Forge Mystery, Indomitable Spirit, and Heart Collection Rune don't make a huge difference in damage for my gear level.

I tried changing my magic attack power also to see if it would change my dark damage dealt and used Dark energy punishment. I saw no increase in dark damage. Either it has no effect or I did not have enough to show a difference.

For a good baseline I'm comparing this to CH/R
ShadowStab+64 AGI portion of damage 39k (non cirt) and 55k (crit). STR portion of damage 22k (non crit) and 30k (crit)
Shadow Pulse+70 44k (non crit) and 62k (crit)

From what I can see as dps while I was in GCH. During burn phases CH/WL seems to fail. Its tough even with Lute, Endless Pulse, Warp Charge, and Strong Stimulent I did not seem to build enough rage to sustain a solid dps rotation. The only thing nice with CH/WL is it can handled being under geared with the attack power boost from Dark Energy Punishment. It also has enough self healing that in most fights, as long as I stayed away from Endless Pulse, I could live until a healer could group heal.

I'll try CH/R tonight in GCH if they have a spot to carry me in.

Tried Ch/R in GCH. Much better on burn phases than Ch/Wl. I have better gear since I last posted but from what I have saw from the combat log I was actually able to contribute a good amount damage to the fight.

At the beginning of the fight I was able to Shadow Pulse -> Shadow Stab -> Death Arrives -> Runic Overload -> Shadow Stab Spam. For fillers to rage dump I used Electrocution, Fearless Blow, and Heavy Bash.

I think Ch/Wl could come closer to Ch/R but Indomitable Spirit which is supposed to double the damage of your Dark Energy Strikes does not appear to be adding the damage. The heal works though. I have added it as a bug on the Observations thread.

So for now after testing I'd say stay away from Ch/Wl unless you are starving for an attack power boost. The self heals are nice but I don't think they would make up for the aggro you can generate right off the bat with Shadowstab.

Since I do not play Ch/P, Ch/W, or Ch/M I can't really compare their skills to Ch/R or Ch/Wl at the moment.
