Champion/? or ?/Champion

We all know it. There are class combos that are better than others. r/s king of rogues, k/s king of knights, etc. I want to start a champion/? or ?/champion alt. I was wondering if anyone has figured out what the best combo for this class is yet? Or, should I wait a few more months for some of them to hit endgame? w/champion looks interesting, but I already have a w/wd and on top of that they both use rage? Just curious.

I have a W/Ch that I am not too thrilled with. Actually I chose Ch/W/R and of the six possible combinations am sticking with Ch/R as main. Ch/R seems to be on par with W/R, at least in terms of PvE questing. Granted that I am only at lvl 45 on each.

One thang that i have noticed, seems to be a lot of Ch/P or P/Ch wandering about, don't know why though.

My Champion has reached 64C/53R so far (tank build). I started out Ch/Warrior, so can tell you a little about that comparison.

Here is what is good about C/R:
Dual wield gives you extra item to stat & 2nd hatred rune (if it's tank build -- 2nd recon for DPS build?)
Dual wield creates rage significantly faster.
Dual wield gives more opportunities to trigger Forge buff and Chain Drive. Really, you can spam Rune Pulse endlessly if you set it up right.
Energy attacks (Shadowstab is sweet DPS -- 2nd only to Rune Pulse with Chain Drive) allow you to start fights at full throttle without rage.

Ch/Warrior just seemed like it was sitting around waiting for rage too much. There are things you can do (like Enrage), and I think it's a playable combo. But C/R just seems better. W/Ch seemed pretty nice as a DPS, but I only leveled it to 35 so not much I can say there.

Ch/Warlock, Ch/P, Ch/M I'm not too familiar with. But those all seem to be mixing melee with magic of some sort, and that's generally not so good (magic attacks lack MATK, need more than 2 or 3 stats, etc). These would need some killer elite skills in order to outrank a pure melee -- think Ice Blade level -- and I just don't know if they actually have such a thing.

Warlock/R is also supposed to be pretty good, so I am thinking I will probably go warlock/champion/rogue from the responses I am getting on both champion/r and warlock/r being the best combos.

That is the point, but it is also not fun to be completely useless which is what I wanted to avoid. I didn't want to choose warlock/? and find out it does less damage than a p/k. :)

I play a Ch/WL/R. Here is what I can tell you.

Ch/WL is good if you are undergeared as Dark Energy Punishment gives you a 30% increase to both PAttck and MAttack. MAttck does not appear to affect your dark damage dealt so you can gear like any other Ch/x. The problem with Ch/WL is that you end up sitting around for rage, so for burn phases on bosses you lose out. You also lack an effective way to use focus from your WL side. Rune Siphon still requires rage and is not on par with the damage of Dark Energy Strike, Electrocution, or Energy Influx. Having the CC is kinda nice but does not make up for the slow build up to damage.

Ch/R is excellent. You start the fight with a large resource of energy while you build rage. I have found no problem with Ch/R in burn phases yet. I'll write more as I test more :)

Ch/r/p here

Ch/R is definitely awesome for dps, decent for what little tanking I've done with that combo. My main is a w/r and I can see the champion being as good as or even better than the w/r in pvp.

Ch/p is lacking in dps, but is a ton of fun to tank with. Attacks that heal the party, mana-based attack that cures status ailments, nice Stam buff during long fights, and an attack that reduces the CD on Holy Aura work very well in tanking. Again, I'm not cutting edge end-game yet, but what I've done so far has been great.

r/wn is king of rogues with r/s a close second, k/p is king of knights with k/s a close second.

Anyhow, Ch/r is both good tank and good dps. Seems like the best ch/x that I've seen anywhere.

Champion/Mage

Just to try out the dwarf classes i also had m/ch.
But when i switched to ch/m i had so much more fun.
Lots of tooling, CC, great support, nice as of-tank, high survivability, but not a boss burner...

ch/m is not a good dps class.
While the (always on) High-Energy Barrier gets all the love from your tank and healer (and it's also great when soloing, or saving party members)
your role is only a 'O Sh.t savior' when there is a bad trash pull, etc, but those are the moments you really shines :)

So it probably got no spot in a burn party, but it has in (end game) instances when tactics are involved... :)

But more important, it's so much fun :D

I have a Ch/r and that is all it's ever going to be, I'm not adding a third class......so it's Ch/r or bust. My thoughts on this combo are it's everything K/r should have been or could have been if they had actually re-balanced Knights right. In my eyes it's the non-gimped K/r. the only weak point is the lack of a solid CC like WWS. If they ever add Item Set Skills with a CC skill this combo could be epic. The funnel shaped CC that Ch has is just not as good as WWS.
I reject your reality and choose my own instead!

Been dabbling some in Ch/w and w/ch. I'm actually looking forward to getting the warrior side up. The elites make a w/ch less rage dependent. Also, who doesn't like midget bowling (surprise attack). It still makes me smile to see my midget rolling along the ground into a mob.
