W/M and 60/60 elite

Ok...so I got the elite for my warrior/mage seeing as it looked far better than the m/w elite and well.....its INSANE! Lol. My w/m now destroys the dps that m/w could ever do...while I beat r/s's dps in tosh, not sure how it would go against a good r/wd but basicly they have given a magic based class a chance to be at the top for once :D
One major bug I have come across with the elite though is that sometimes, even when you have the buff on, it sometimes doesn't work...meaning all you do is white hit till you realise >.< Basicly have to click off the buff then use it again to get it working....suppose it wouldn't be an issue if you used a macro to cancel buff then re-apply...

But anyway, thought I would see if anyone else has it and what they think :D

What kind of damage are you doing with that against physical defense players/mobs? (say in HoS) Can you use it in conjunction with Electircal Attack/Lava Weapon? Because if we can use it AND Electircal Attack/Lava Weapon we will be uber OP. Electircal Attack by itself is awesome imo. Are you statted for pdamage or mdamage? Is the skill based on mattk or pattk? And i agree...ssshhhhhhh!

Another really annoying bug i have found is that when your phoenix pops (goes on cool down) the elite also gets removed.....really annoying in the middle of a burn -.-

I have also encountered this bug on my W/M, sucks having to remove the buff before putting it back on..

@narix11 the 60/60 elite gives a skill that allows electric attack and lava weapon to be used in conjunction so they both proc upon a white hit.

There is absolutely no other fun at all about being w/m at least anymore other than being on the top of scrutinizer easier than other combos without doing much anything and that is possible even with much worse overall gear. If you can even call that being fun more than trolling your mates couple times and laughing at their low DPS compensating for your poor mage outside burst always at the bottom of scrut dmg (yeye, you can always go spam those adds with aoe's all you like to increase mage epeen while real men kill the boss), your life must be very boring. Warmage is either warrior without melee skills with couple mdmg dealing skills or warrior without secondary class if you deside to do physical build.

Around 80% of damage comes purely from pressing auto-attack button once at the beginning of the boss fight and then you could as well go afk unless you like to click that matk buff button once in a while or spam lightning touch for little more DPS to gain missing percentages for full DPS. This class combo was more interesting before to take a break from flame spamming, but with new elite and everyone rerolling to w/m for their e-penises, it's now just yet another boring op r/s bandwagon little nerdies wet dream class combo.


New elite skill does absolutely nothing else than hitting both lava weapon and electric attack skills simultaneously whenever you use auto-attack. Basically this elite just gives warmages new free 80-100% DPS boost without them needing to change anything in their old playing style or to use any new skills in rotation (rotation? where? what is that? we mages... we warmages... and rest of the people use diyce anyway. Tab+autoattack, tab+autoattack ftl).

Not only did those elemental weapon skills hit already 150-200% harder than flames with same weapon, but with new elite those auto-attacks do 2x 150-200% flame damage per each hit withn same time or even shorter than mage can cast one flame outside their burst. Ridiculously enough one of the most restricted spells flame or other skills are one of the weakest big hits in the game compared to any other class and ones without any restriction and easiest and play combos or skill which does the most of damage.


This class is just one big joke at the moment. I seriously hope they nerf warmages very quickly and then boost mages (as well as nerf all non-mages like rogues or boosting all other classes above warmages except rogues would work too, but that would make game too easy :p). Nerfing new elite, nerfing electrical rage or bit both as soon as possible would be the best idea for this combo. Poor mages with their 10 second bumsbums, many useless skills with long cooldowns when warmages already have longer burst and permanent op matk boost... Class combo deserves to have comparable damage to other classes, but current damage should just get nerfed and this is just a big insult towards any mage main. :eek:

...and yeah, that bug which causes elite skill to dysfuntion is bothersome.

Stop hating! I was a m/s who got 30% damage increase for 20sec and shot hits 3 times now. But I swithed to w/m because It looks cool to me and you want it to get nerfed... Hater!!!

Uhh what? First of all, sure W/M ATM is very strong, why? Not because of the elite itself but because of Electrical rage. If anyone tried DPSing without the elite they would have realized that the DPS even WITHOUT the elite was more than rogues. So the elite doesn't need to be nerfed at all, however I will agree that electrical rage does need a nerf. Infact, next time any of you run with a W/M tell him NOT to use electrical rage. See how much lower his/her DPS is. People assume the new elite is OP because only recently have people started playing W/M, so they automatically relate it's over powerness to the recently released elite.

Another thing, IDK if you play a mage or you just making assumptions but M/W DPS isn't as bad as everyone is making it seem. My flame on first boss in KBN HM still does 400K per hit, which in a burn that adds up to quite a bit of DPS.

Now to the Bolded part. That's where everyone gets it wrong. Anyone who states that classes should have comparable DPS to each other doesn't realize how balancing should work. If all classes do the same amount of damage that would make for an INCREDIBLY dull game. Each class should have their own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to certain bosses in an instance, especially now since RoM is going the "No more burning, more strategy"

Also as far as mages go, in no way shape or form are they obsolete. If anyone has gone passed first boss, (especially 3rd boss in KBN HM) they would realize that range DPS is at a FAR greater advantage than any melee DPS. Infact my mage on 3rd boss can more than keep up with other classes such as Rogues, scouts, and warriors.

The only reason why so many people are crying for a nerf for W/M is because of the amount of people that were already M/W before the so called "Buff". When in fact M/S and S/R got very SIMILAR elites, however not a lot of people play M/S so there aren't many M/S that run instances to show the strengths of M/S. As far as S/R goes, the skill that got a buff isn't really used in their "rotation".

Does W/M deserve as much spotlight as it has received? no. Is it a very strong DPS class? Yes, it always has been. Does the elite need to get nerfed? No, Electrical Rage does. Am I biased because I do have a leveled W/M? No, because I still use my M/W side just as much as my W/M side. Stop playing the game by comparing yourself to other classes and start playing it for your class.

This is sadly only thing you seemed to really understand from what I wrote, so this deserves a bit longer reply where I can gladly answer to you that it's also the only thing that I agree with you less or more. Even thought damage is still very high without it, compared to many people with already better gear and weapons, damage difference is definetly smaller in lower instances where umh.. yea bosses have no defence and they die too fast before I finish buffing up to really compare (but who plays those places anyway, only damage in newest instances counts or do they?). Also damage is not that bad even without rage skill in KBN HM.

You are correct! I don't play mage, well... anymore, but I play... surprise, surprise... Is it a rogue? No... Is it a priest? No... don't pee in your panties yet, but here it comes, a great and allmighty new... Warmage!! and it's pains me to watch my teammates with their t10/t11 tosh or kbn weapons and world boss stats to perform so badly against my lowly geared nubbie toon without even using the best possible DPS weapon for this combo, while I afk eating popcorns and watch TV, wait!? Dang, I forgot to cast that electical rage thingy... :(

People have been playing magic w/m since chapter 1 so that is not new. The big difference is the massive buff electric attack got at the beginning of chapter 4. Before chapter 4 lightnings touch, 1 bolt of thunder sword and electric attack did similar damage to each other. With chapter 4 the damage scaling of electric attack was changed big time. Since then it has already been nerfed once.

Just transferred my puppet (8150 mdmg) from my old m/p to my w/m and had a quick play with the Boshi outside Kampel town. Lightnings touch 32k, thunder sword 30k per bolt and electric attack 278k. What is effectively my auto attack is doing 9 times the damage of the main skills. With his normal staff with 2.9k mdmg electric attack was only doing 7 times the damage of the other 2 skills.

Hit electric attack then did treasure hunt. Easiest treasure hunt I have ever done. 320k to 420k hits on the mobs in there with my auto attack and completely ignored the skills given to be used. Killed every thing in my path. From last time I played a lot of w/m it was out of mana or silenced and electric attack still works. Los issues but if auto attack still hits then still get the damage from electric attack.

With people saying the 60 elite adds more damage it does not surprise me if people call for it do be nerfed again. I would love it if all my melee characters did that much damage on their auto attack.

Not sure if it's just me because English is my 3rd language but this paragraph made very little sense to me. So what you're saying is without electrical rage you're out-DPSing other people in your guild/party? Well then I'm sorry to say those people that you are out-DPSing are either not geared as you OR they are doing something VERY wrong. Would you please do me a favour, next time you run an instance, more specifically any strategy based boss; don't use electrical rage and show me a picture of your scrutinizer because I can assure you any rogue, scout or warrior could and SHOULD out-DPS a W/M without electrical rage. Now this is assuming the boss you are fighting is actually relevant and has more Mdef than a level 1 snake. (Like for example one of the furious world bosses; go ahead and DPS that without electrical rage and post the scrut).

So referring back to your previous post, not only are you out-DPSing them on without electrical rage, but you are "lowly geared nubbie" as well? Well then, in that case there is no doubt in my mind that the people you are running with do not understand how to reach their full potential for their specific class (No offence, don't mean to call any specific person out)

Also I'm sorry but you're playing a class for the wrong reasons. You're probably going to tell me that you also have a P/S for siege, and a rogue to sneak by trash mob in AC to farm it faster. Maybe even a scout to AFK farm EoJ...

You are right, electric attack did get a buff at the beginning of chapter 4, no arguing there. Infact the first character I ever made in RoM (Back in Beta and chapter 1) was a W/M and the only other (Or so it seemed) W/M playing at that time used thunder attack as the main DPS skill because there was nothing else. The buff at chapter 4 did help with the viability of the W/M.

Being able to go through treasure hunt without using any of the skills isn't relevant to this argument. I can run through course of terror on my mage just by thunder storming all the tiles and I finish the entire course with 13 minutes left on the clock without using the cannons or vines. That is just failure of design on RoM's part.

Does the 60 elite add more damage? Of course, no doubt about that. The skill makes you hit twice. Melee damage calculations are much different than magic so you can't even compare the two.

Im have a maxed end game geared mage/warrior who i have switched over to warrior/mage the new elites are extreme dps and most mobs and bosses are dead before issues of agro, untill you get into a fight that lasts over 30 seconds (tosh, kbn etc), after basic knights agro first agro skills die down i pull automatic agro ( yes this is while using tranq powders)
The warrior mage is at its best dps with a 2 hand staff (shackles) but the lack of agro reducers have made this a unplayable class unless using 2 very high class recon runes in wand and talisman, i really have no idea on the uses of a high dps class that cannot use its full potential maybe rom just hasnt updated it fully yet but either knights needs to be given higher/longer lasting agro inducers or warriors need agro reducing skills on some of its elites.

I have so far without being full buffed went into mess about in hos/gch with warrior mage and have hit upto 2.9mil crit 1.45 air damage 1.45 fire damage i love the class and elites i just wish i could use it to its full potential.

So gl to all the other warrior /mages out there i guess we stuck using it for 2 hitting bosses in gch or lower untill we get those agro reducers or recon 20s ;p

You can use it in full. Well at least our W/M can.
On KBN usaully we use 2 tanks, one is K/P so he can put -25% agro skill on W/M, and second is Wd/W with new 70lv etlie he reduce party agro even more. Add recon rune and tranq powder and W/M have almoust -100% agro for 30s. After that they barely manage to catch up with agro and event be in threatmater.

Oh i didnt realise the warden warrior had a deagro buff how long does the buff work for and does it just buff everyone in party apart from the warden who picks up second agro from the knight ? also do your warrior /mages use 2 hands or wand and tali ?

I cant be for sure, but i believe its for 30 seconds. It works something like this. It rise Wd/W dmg by 50%, and reduce all other aggro in party by 30% and also reduce incoming dmg on party members by 30%.

It's a great skill. So you cant use it if Wd/W is nto with you on instance, but you could always put a K/P alt outside instance and buff yourself with his -25% aggro for 15min.

Well ty for info we have been testing it out some and the warden scout seems to be able to keep solid agro over me when tanking so im guessing warden warrior would have no probs at all, ive found a couple knights who were willing to try out and test some of the agro, i do have to occasionally slow down on the dpsing during long fights with knights still but as long as the knights do a bit of work on keeping agro i can actually run with this and do double most r/s dps on bosses even with holding back a little. Its alot fun to run on the class and awesome dps on fights just gotta be aware of that threat meter all the time ;) ( i do still stand though that warrior/mages really do need some sort of agro reducing skill but i guess that may come in time or even allow us to use unharmed from mage set skill as a passive on both classes)
