best dual class: warden/scout or warden/mage

I'm stuck between setting my interface to warden/mage or warden/scout. At first I'd say warden scout, but looking at the elite skills I am questioning if chiron the centuar will do more dps then what mage/scout can do with the enhanced skills to both spirit of oak and oak walker. Any help

I think this one is a no-brainer, but someone feel free to correct me.

Wd/S all the way, baby. I've never played a ward, but I run with them, and the wd/s is INSANE now that it has the 60 elite that doubles Chiron's attack speed. It's a VERY good dps class. Wd/M on the other hand, is one of those hybrids that never really gets off the ground since it's too hard to stat high mattack and pattack.

The Wd/M is just not a successful class really, so many wasted elites. Think about it, you have elites for two pets...but you can only use one at a time.

wd/m is broken atm due to punch not getting the patt reduction on target if getting the wd/m elite tough oak.

The wd/m oak walker does more damage than other wd's pets due to the elite of spiritual feedback(the tooltip is totally wrong about what this skill actually does).

Also the wd/m elite of narrow escape does not seem to work.

The wd/m has potential to be a great tank, but there are sadly too many bugs atm keeping it down.

The wd/m caster build has been defunct ever since the nature crystal lost its beam attack.

As for the wd/s, gl on finding tanks that can hold aggro over your chiron. You either have to not use it fully or it dies wayyyyy too fast. I kinda feel bad for the tanks.

Wd/s is top 3 dps class combo, up there with w/wd, r/wd.

The keys to the class is a strong summoned chiron and a healer who understands that he/she needs to heal your chiron.

Wd/s is also one of the stronger combos in siegewar.

You can wait a little to send in your chiron if aggro is an issue since chiron's dps is high and sustained.

The old tatic of waiting to send the chiron is not really working anymore, since the cancel attack function of warden(and priest) pets was removed.

I have experimented and the most success with not using Explosion of Power on the chiron until a little bit after the burst phase, if at all.

Also, if there are any aggro reduction that can be cast on chiron, ie k/p Holy Protection, works too.

edit: If using the generic wd stat build of str/patt/stam instead of wd/s build of str/dex/patt/stam, the aggro of the chiron wont be as significant of an issue due the the lack of accurracy.

Unfortunately the druid's Mother Earth's Fountain (their group heal) does not heal the chiron, whereas the priest Group Heal does. So when running with at druid healer, let them know about this and that they can cast a heal/regen directly on the chiron.

As camagic already said, Magic wardens ended during the beginning of Ch.4.... The only warden who could possibly get away with statting for magic is Wd/D for their added magic damage on white hits.

As for the OP, I myself am Wd/M/S... I find myself using Wd/M for doing any runs, and only using Wd/S for siege/dailies. The combination of Explosion of Power and Pet Enhance (85% PAtt + 30% PDam) in addition to Spiritual Feedback is just too good to pass up. Add in mana based Wind Chop vs focus based Joint Blow... don't need to worry about running out of juice mid fight. CC + WC every sec with a high crit rate and a super buffed Oak Walker = a pet that often ends up tanking... and we even have Narrow Escape if it looks like it's gonna eat dirt. (Just wish Escape's CD was a little shorter, but compared to Priest Soul Bond, guess I can't complain)

WTB Healer for my pet....

If you cancel the auto attack you can wait for the tank to build aggro before Chiron joins the fight. In lower instances forget it unless your guild is just burning the boss.

I have found in KBhm Chiron doesn't pull aggro as often and with the lvl 60 elite (and Im sure it has something to do with beast type mobs, not sure where i got that info from) DPS is huge easily out dpsing me. It like having and extra dps toon in the party.

Just be prepared for the swearing from Tanks and rogues when the pet pulls aggro and kills their rotation.

With the level 60 elite, it's true that Chiron gains a massive DPS increase. However, the Warden still out DPSes the pet. Before the level 60 elite, an endgame Warden usually does 2x the damage Chiron does. Now, it's still not generally the case that Chiron out dpses the Warden (especially if you have an OP weapon...Ive got a Level 70 T11 2h axe...so yeah...) because a Warden/Scout stats 1x Stam/patt, 1x Hp/patt, and 4x Str/Patt. Chiron does it's damage based on the Wardens Patt, and dex. With a good weapon, there is simply no way that Chiron can out dps the warden. It's an incredibly effective combo, and I love it.

P.S. - For Scruit, the other players with scruit won't be able to track your Chiron's damage, only your scruit.

You always have the option of recalling Chiron if it gets too hot and heavy with aggro. Last ditch resort, but will allow tank to regain control

If you dont mind spending the time, you can also summon another Chiron. This gets rid of the previous one, the new one starts with no aggro, and you still get a decent amount of dps.

Wd/r is way way more pro that wd/s. oak walker does awesome damage and never misses. Ss/gavel/throw spam cannot be beat.

No, just simply no..... don't get me wrong I played wd/r and loved every minute of it. Its a fun quirky class but wd/s easily out dps's wd/r.

I assume that you have never played a Wd/S and Wd/R is your main? Im sorry, but Wd/R usually isn't even considered a DPS class. While in the lower levels, most classes' DPS are about the same (unless your a tank/healer) but at endgame, class combos are very important. Wd/R can't even begin to compare to Wd/S. And you say Oak Walker never misses and is awesome damage? Well, Chiron has never missed for me...EVER. And my Oak Walker only does 100kish damage, and attacks pretty slow. Chiron hits every 2 seconds (with level 60 elite, every 1 second) for over 250k (personal average) each time and has hit 356k ON A CHAIN USER....consider that please, before talking about a class you have virtually no experience about. Thank you.

You assumed wrong, now I have to make a fool of you and defend my wifey. Sadakko is clearing KBN hm nightly with our guild and puts up great dps numbers, perhaps you just lack the skill to properly play wdn/r so should probably not talk about a class you know nothing about.

Hey Now what's up with warden on warden violence? We have enough crap coming from everyone else to start bickering amongst ourselves. Warden/rouge and warden/scout both out dps me, so you should both be happy you didn't roll a wd/ dr....

I make useless and non endgame class end game :D.

Btw Chiron has like a 55% miss rate in kbhm. She is great but not totally op.

On boss fights I have oak walker out at 190k pa and it never misses.
On a reg boss fight in kbhm oak walker does about 2-3m damage or way more pending on the duration
Heretic - S/R/Wd - 96k HP fully (self)buffed and proud.
