Warden building?

So I recently dusted off my old abandoned Warden toon, "SOTOmizer" (see what I did thar?) :D

I was very confused with how the new skills worked (I miss being able to chow down on SOTO for a tasty buff!). What was changed and how do I compensate?

With this somewhat recent change, how does one build their Warden successfully? It's a WD/S/R, that being said, I don't really like Chiron very much, he just seems... too cheap and pets seem useless in instances.

While I am not a Warden player anymore, I do know how to build them decently enough. They are more reliant on their Strength, it's now incorporated in their turning point skills. No more casting times on those skills either, just summoning takes time. They have also been pushed more towards fitting into specific roles based on their active pet (they took our advice and made the pets give the buffs when active instead of sacrificing them for a buff). Pets are definitely worthwhile now, pathing issues still exist, Chiron is extremely powerful and the other pets won't fail you in whatever role you intend to play. Their buffs are active when the pets are active, which should be 100% of the time now. They got a major boost in their defensive capabilities. Use a 2h weapon, stack Strength and Patk stats for DPS, and wear that same chain armor. The old Nature Crystal buff is now your SOTO without the pdef boost. Also, Natural Lifeline now increases your Stamina and Strength.
Your elite skills are still pretty much untouched.
Give Wd/R a try if you don't like Wd/S, they are probably close to equal in DPS.

Any questions?

Yes. I noticed that Wardens have a passive that boosts 2h weapon damage, though as a rogue I have the ability to equip weapons in my offhand. Which do you think would be better?

I'm planning to make this Warden into a DPS but in the off chance I pull aggro, I want to be able to tank a few hits while the aggro is re-pulled. That being said, does SOTO "take the bullet" anymore?

By take the bullet, I bet you are referring to how it would sacrifice its self to heal you to full. No , it no longer "takes the bullet".

Wd/s has an elite skill called sacrifice but you have to click it your self but if you about to die you can sacrifice pet for 50% hp, pet doesnt die just stands there and does nothing for like 20 sec... then hell pop up keep doin what hes doin.. but still life saving skill there
good for pvp :)

Yes, I saw that elite. However, it's not an automatic trigger which kinda defeats the purpose of it. Generally in PvP people get 1 or 2 hit.

I think I'd find this skill better at home in an instance when you get hit by a nasty DoT

Once you build your warden, you SHOULDNT be one or two shot my friend. i go into siege war with 380k ish pdef, and 142k mdef.... and 225k hp. With nature crystal out, and your heart of the oak buff, no reason you should be gettin one shot, but yes with any class combo, if your not built, your gonna get one shot.

2h Weapon. By far, you will get more damage. That boost is massive compared to what you will get from 2x 1h weapons. Offhand damage is like next to nothing in the long run.

Thanks for the tips :)

Just a few more questions left:

I know how expensive it is to stat gear so I'll be using the 'Blue Baggies' that you get from various quest areas until I reach 70 I think. What specific weapons should I be using from level 50-70? I've heard good things about the Iron Wheel Great Axe from DL.

What should I be using for statting? What ratio?

With my rogue I stat mainly with X stats and the occasional glory because I'm on a tight budget 90% of the time. Mainly dex/pa, str/pa, stam/pa X stats since str and dex are only a .1 pa difference. I take it I should be using strength stats mainly.

I would recommend going with whatever you have the highest weapon proficiency in. This will not always be the highest damage weapon at level, but will greatly pay off at end game(and even while leveling) when more hits are landing.

I am aware there are ways to improve proficiencies while afk, but after a point(roughly the level 60 range) those are pretty much moot.

Just spend a few nights hitting eggs in ravenfell and you're good to go.
Don't really need to stick to one weapon type. It is fast enough not to have to worry about it. Or otherwise just use 2h axe. Since lvl 60+ axe > same level sword iirc

once ur done in ravenfell go to rorazan to the production plant, roam around and start hitting the production plants themselves or whatever they are called lol once i get in game and actually remember the name ill be able to give a better answer lol, but they dont attack and they heal themselves up allowing you to level your weapon skill on a level 70 or 71 NPC, which makes weapon leveling go super smooth.

TB is lower level than rorazan, the higher the level the better the benefit. The faster it goes.
Still looking for one in Crysalia or however u spell it :P, but no luck yet.
leveling two handed weapons is mind-numbing.
