Is a bow ever better?

We were having a discussion in guild the other day about putting Wrath in a bow and how much more of an increase it gives in comparison to slower xbows. So my question is this, is there any time when a bow is better than an xbow?

No, its never better with a disclaimer, if they were to release a new bow with 2.6 and below speed (much like GDFB 2.4 speed) it would be better because as a /s you could spam shot. The Great dragon speed was awesome for r/s back in chapter 3 when barely anyone played rogue.

As for straight up scout nothing will ever beat an xbow. Bows were created for scout secondary.

True, the only reason bow was better at one time was because the range was longer, but that was ninja-changed sometime late ch2 or ch3... only newbs like those gone to GW2 now still thought it had longer range even in ch4 :P (yah, you know who you are bro, still love ya anyways)

Edit: Not better even with the longer range, but better for a certain usage where range was required (shooting healers through gates at max range for one thing).

eh, i'd rather look cool with my epicly agged, though slightly less useful, bow instead of taking out a idiotic looking xbow everytime i wanted to shoot something...if only they made xbow/bow aggs interchangable...

but yeah...bows kinda suck compared to xbows..needs to be fixed
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

For Scout primary, no, never.

For specific X/S classes, maybe. I tell guildies, for example, if you have a Knight/Scout, a bow is better than a crossbow because you're never really using the bow for DPS (focusing on aggro instead) except to pull and for stats/extra hatred rune. Why is it better then? Physical Crit rate as a the ghost stat with the same Patk ghost bonus as the same level crossbow.

do bows always give crit as a ghost stat at higher lvls? i know a couple lower lvl bows where the xbow gives crit while bow gives dex...

Since you brought up the Wrath rune, Yes.

A bow would mathematically be a better choice if that was the only factor that mattered.

Since a Wrath rune, Most Chest Pieces and The Flame Dragon necklace have a +weapon Dmg. They would be a better choice then using a Crossbow.

Both the 70 and 75 do. I am not sure about lower, as I have forgot. Memory level = 0.
