Questions on Priest

I have a couple of questions on how to play a preist effectively.

1) Whats a better healer between P/S v. P/R?

2) Could a stating plan of Int/Matk, Int/Stam x2, Wis/Matk, Wis/Hp x2 be enough for me to heal and do some damage in PvP?

3) On my gear could I do like a mixed set of Heal and mage gear and still be viable?

Yes that would be viable, though I would suggest maybe a stam/matk or an matk/hp instead of a wisdom/matk. As you're a priest the two wis/hp are really more than enough wisdom for you to heal.

You could, though it really depends on *what* heal gear and what mage gear.

The gear I'm using in charplan is the ToSH healer set without shoulders, the 3 piece mage PoL set, full jugg set, blaze earring, and a world of greenery ring. Ill have to try using a stam/mattk instead of the wis/mattk. Also whats the priest wis soft cap? So i know what to shoot for.

8K wis. And that can be buffed. Though honestly getting to 8K wis unbuffed is ridic easy. I have 11K and I think im going to start just not using it at all lol.

Yes, hitting that 8k cap is really easy lol. Using the stating above I have 11k wisdom from stats and gear. But my mattk is only 50k or so and I'd like for it to be higherso I can be viable for sw. Ill try and post a screenshot here of my stats from CharPlan.

The thing I would be concerned with in building a hybrid is how much Healing Power Increase Points you will be left with, as well as what kind of crit you would be left with? I am wondering if it may be of more use to you to have your full healers set of gear, but then to also have a Mage set of gear?

There is a Mage geared P/S on Thalia that goes by the name of Holyman, and when I come up against him (in all of my healers gear) as a P/S, more often than not I can tear him a new one.

One of the biggest downfalls of going into PVP as a P/S is coming against Mages (who can silence you) and Rogues (who can Shadow Prison you). If I can immune then it can be quite easy to take one of these classes down.

I have to admit that I would be interested to see how your hybrid goes in siege war, as well as healing in instances.

Depends on much mdef that mage geared p/s has. I'm all mage geared and have around 100k mdef. Sure it's still hard to take down pure healers (with all that mresist) but they will in no way tear me new one.

Mages can silence...if in 150 range, even then u can pop magic immune candy. Same with being shadow prisoned, u can pop physical immune food and be fine. I honestly prefer rogues who start out with shadow prison.

Most of the healing comes from the healing bonus on the gear/weapon itself, u can almost stat however u want and still be a decent priest healer

Once I figure out how to post screenshots on here I'lll show you my stating plan, gear plan etc. I've done some switching around on my stating and I've done Int/Mattk x2, Int/Stam x2, Wis/Hp, and Stam/Wis. Now all this is using CharPlan though as I am still leveling. I am thinking of taking out the Stam/Wis in favor of maybe Int/Wis. I havent decided yet If I will. Also on the issue of crit on CharPlan it says I'll have 3500 crit approxmently (can't remember exact number) but when I heal I am tempted to try out P/R and thanks to one of its elites I'll be able to gain some more crit.

If you sub the stam/wis I'd suggest wis/matk over int/wis just because the matk will be higher, as straight int doesn't help a priest as much as it does a mage.

p/r crit is not anything additional. With the 60 p/s elite, I think p/s as a healer is way better now (since p/r got nothing).

What I ended up doing is going Int/Wis on half my gear and Stam/Wis on the other half, because I lost to much pdef and hp for me to really justify going all Int/Wis. I'll try subsituting Wis/Matk for the Int/Wis and see what I get.

If you feel you're dropping too much hp/pdef, use that stat... lol mystery is fairly cheap i think?
stam/pdef also cheap

Mystery is ridiculously easy to get with KBE now. It drops literally like every other boss in there. I use them as fails XD

If I remember it correctly, Yuhwa is a hybrid using only 1 gear for both for SW and PVE. She statted like int/stam, Int/MA, Hp/MA, Wis/HP2x, and Stam/MA. Also she uses healing gears for high mdef in SW. her accessories was aoth mysticism pieces but juggler set will work. and her staff is shackle. she T7 gears to compensate the lack of Def

I have a guildy who uses healer gear and stats it like a mage. Since healer gear gives plenty of crit, it's not really an issue to do damage for her and she could heal high level instances with little to no problems. Wisdom has a limit for priests and stops effecting the amount of healing you do. Healing power from gear has no cap from what I've heard.

I forgot to mention, she uses the healing POL set, I guess it comes to 246 mdamage bonus vs 1k+ healing power bonus. But i would personally go for healiing bonus. Its a personal choice I guess. Also she's a P/R/S. so you two are perfect match.

Yeah with the way wisdom works for priests... you can really stack absolutely no wisdom and still get to 8K. I charplanned it... statting absolutely 0 wisdom per piece, and still ended up with something like 8.2K wisdom unbuffed. So ridiculous :/ WTB a reason to actually have wisdom besides mdef.
