Advice for a returning player on gear

After being gone for a while i decided to give the game a go again. So far so good. ive enjoyed the game play "minus the broken quest lines". but my biggest problem is gear. Im a M/S 75/50 ATM. Im currently running full Flower god / Raksha gear with a complete vahtos set. "all of which is OD" All my gear is temple and tomb statted. A few my my old guild are comming back as well and we have decided to stay together and stay small. so running any modern instances seems to be out of the question atm. atleast till we all level up

My questions would be...
1: what items that are usually available in the AH are replacing Vahtos these days? or should i be looking for EoJ or mem jewelery instead?

2: Is there something i should be looking at replacing the Flower/Raksha gear with thats attainable?

any help would be apprecaited

Welcome back!

You can get pretty darn good gear and all the best stats from momento vendors in Chrysalia and phurius shell vendors in Varanaus or Dalanis. The L70-75 gear will be a LOT better than what you have and get you to end game. The best accessories are the Aoth (L62) or Jugglers (L65) sets and can be hard to find on the AH. You will want to get a better staff for sure... but should be able to find a Puppet Queen staff on the AH for a reasonable price. Eventually you may want to upgrade to a Shackles staff but those are currently hard to come by.

RT gear - good (on hard modes)
KT gear - junk
GC gear - good (on hard mode)
SC gear - junk
TOSH gear - good (on hard mode)
AC gear - junk
KUBN gear ... I think you see the pattern.

Do you have a chance to buy good gear? Yes.

Do you have a chance as undergeared toon in small guild that probable does not have great tanks or healers to farm GCH, TOSH hard or KUBN? No way. Not without extensive pugging.

That said, new X stats are almost as good as hero stats and dirt cheap. As in 200-300k. While eternity/bygone and dragon/remain lines are better and are need for end game statting, the least you can do is to stat with those and with shell stats. Mem stats are hardly worth it these days because of high mem cost; might want to get into EOJ farming.

yeah im noticing a trend.

First off
Aoth and Jugg gear doesnt seem to be available in the market. "with the exception of necklaces". I guess this means im stuck with Vahtos for a while.

Secondly. I have no clue what sets to focus on. but even then there doesnt seem to be much in the market.
For instance I have a nice Doubters shoulder from EoJ's. but ill be darned if i can find the rest of that set.
Jenny armor appears viable for buying a set but i have no clue if i should waste my time on it or wait

Its been a little confusing to say the least. What i finally decided to do is not buy anything. gring EoJ, Mem and shells till i have a veritable plethora of stats then worry about it.

i was able to pickup all but the cloak from the jugg set from a retiring player. unfortunantly he wants more for the cloak than i have. 200 mill for a UD item is tough to spend. though i know nobody does that dungeon anymore.

Still farming EoJ. i have a little over 1500 at the moment but havent cashed them in yet.

Went to nest with a couple friends and we were able to clear first boss on easy. didnt try any others

making progress and having fun :)

I believe the cloak drops off last boss in GCH, which is why its so expensive. Most of the bosses in Kulch Nest easy should be easily clearable, its really as hard as maybe RT normal.

Farming arrows is currently the fastest way for EoJ's, if you're not farming them already, they drop off mobs near the Kulch instance. Although, as mentioned above, EoJ's aren't as good as before, since stat drops got nerfed, and you now have 6 crap stats and 2 decent stats (if Matk/HP counts as decent...).
