d/wd vs d/s

Hello fellow Druids,

So I am starting to see more and more d/wds on my server. I understand that for seige they are probably much better due to the pdef buff along with some other buffs, but I am being told that it may be a better choice for instance heals.

Just looking for opinions from other druids. Thanks.

Don't touch my d/wd in any 12 man raid. D/s all the way.

D/wd cant compete with the blanket healing of d/s, along with the extra cleanse and abilitity to apply an arsenal of regens on the move. Its too much of a stationary healer with long spell casts. Sure those spells heal for a lot - but quicker heals save raids.

Im sure there are other d/wd out there that use d/wd constantly - I still dont see it being near d/s in utility and capable healing.

There is more of a learning curve with d/wd.

You get shortchanged on a secondary party heal aoe/hot pretty much. You have one that heals decently but difficult to use it often or conveniently, at least that's my experience.

In raids, if you aren't really on top of things (more-so than other druid classes), you'll have a bad time. mmk...

If you like a challenge and p/k like survivability, it's not bad.

personaly i prefer d/wd, especialy with the 70 elite gift pulse, but if im healing something with a lot of aoe damage, then i generaly roll over to d/s for healing arrows and camelia flower.

as far as dificulty goes, d/s is slightly easier, tho not as hard as moxy makes it sound.

d/s has the extra bow stat stick advantage over the d/wd. d/s skills of group cleanse, healing arrows, and camelia flower make it for a strong party healer.

d/wd has extra healing bonus from elite skills as well as extra pdef from briar shield. It is not as strong of a party healer as d/s, but has stronger heals.

D/wd is amazing. It is not a utility healer the amounts of heals you can do on d/wd is very impressive. and if cleansing is needed go d/wd/s but I personally go for d/wd.. the healing is amazing. Play it well and try your rotation that works well for you(hint hint) macro manage your nature power. 2 soul source is just impressive and 1 being only 1 minute cd. Note: there is only 1 d/wd in Reni Server that run in an end game instances(not in SW only) coz most people go D/s and his heals are amazing. Party rarely dies because of it. Im very impressed with D/wd plus it makes w/m even more OP. Go VVV

Do you guys do daily clears? Not sure what you mean by this comment, as it has no merit whatsoever.

Don't get me wrong. I like VVV as a guild, but you're just makin them look bad.

Hows kiting as a d/s btw? Heard you had troubles ;)

On topic: After getting the 60 elite, I find that D/Wd healing is made much more easier, as long as you have a non-warden tank, as using briar on him replaced his own pdef buffing briar. I still don't see it competing anywhere near D/S in terms of versatlity and mobility. You don't need "big" heals at end game. You need the right heals at the right time. D/S, imo, gives you that option with both blanket and burst healing, along with the ability to cleanse essentially any cleanse-able debuff in the game.

It does, however, have its perks in certain situations. But those are far and few between. (like offtanking, for example).

We don't clear it everyday but we run it when we feel like clearing, otherwise farming 1-4 everyday is always there

On topic: Obviously you have not gotten the lvl 70 elite that's why you keep saying the survivability and versatily of the class. 2 Soul source and 1 of them is a 1 minute cd, i'd say that's pretty amazing.

Also, IMO druid/warden build is not the same as any other druid build, We don't have much HoTs. Instead, D/wd build is similar to P/k. Survivability and instant group heals. With mdamage buffs, our group heals can crit more than D/S ' group heal and D/wd have 4group heals--well 5 if you count briar shield!!! that is the reason why I went D/WD/S in the first place so if cleanse is needed I can temporarily go as a D/S and do the job, otherwise D/wd has amazing heals.

Ah, so you like it so much because it takes even less skill with that elite. "The party never dies....unless a minute hasnt passed" xD

Your m.dam buff does not affect your group heal crits. M.dam affects hots and healing bonus...you're thinking of this (which doesn't affect crit btw, it gives you healing bonus).

D/Wd Group Heals:
One
Two (more of a 1/2 imho) - a 3 target heal with no predictable target apart from on one person is not a 'group heal' that I'd call dependable.
Three (not really a group heal, more a group regen that lasts for 40secs if you stand in one spot)
Four (yes I'd count Briar Heal as a group heal, tho again it isn't a predictable casting of a heal, more of a cast the buff on someone and hope that the person you've cast the buff on will trigger the heal onto the group when they get attacked i.e. stand within 70 range of the person with the buff and hope for the best).
Five (Gift Pulse - super nice)

Yes I personally think D/Wd is great as well.

Oh and Collisto, one thing I'd readily admit is that I hate to agree with Raves over anything (just for the heck of it), however when it comes to druid healing, a little less ego and a little more enthusiasm (or at the very least a little less childishness of 'ooo everyone hates you') in learning from someone who's been playing the class endgame and knows the class back to front will help you a lot.
