I agree. The second sentance is why IMHO a proactive healer is better as they are prepared for suprises compared to a reactive healer, even though proactive healing is very difficult.

y I put that sentence there...

Just going to reiterate something I've been telling almost every druid, yet the noobiest ones (ones spamming MEF everytime its up, rather than saving it for when needed) is heal scrut does not matter. Period.

But...but it's an instant heal, and it has a low CD! It's so much smarter to spam it every time it's off cooldown even if there's only one person in the party that's lost a whole 5k hp. And if it's on CD when an AoE hits, there's always Camellia spam to make up for it!

In seriousness though, heals on scrut is one of the most moronic inventions, IMO. Makes healers spam heals when they don't even need to just to brag about their total heal output. I'd rather brag about keeping the party alive, but...that's just me. >.>

I've seen so many nub druids that only use MEF/Camellia and then get all braggy about their high scrut reading. Especially if they're the type that spams MEF when no one's even fighting anything.

I lol at healers that brag about their scrut readings while in instances with other healers, and talk about how they're so much better than them. Scrut is useless for gauging healing capability.

I especially love the ones that spam heals when no one is fighting.

In regards to the proactive vs reactive healer, that's imo a playing style. Hence we have druid and priest combos that do a little of both or better suited to one. Some people are going to find one or the other easier.

Either way, if they keep the party alive, job well done. It's usually easy to tell whose fault it is for dying, but a good healer may be able to keep low/bad tanks and dps alive when they shouldn't be alive :P

I could really care less if they spam heals when no1 is fighting...as long as I stay alive...

also, I encourage a healer to look more at damage taken part of scrut than anything else, simply due to the fact that some healers just spam tank with heals and use an aoe every now and then to heal rest of party, but if the DPS are taking more damage from aoes than ur OP tank is on boss, then ur healing the wrong people...

also, I encourage healers to keep and eye on warriors and scouts, and other unique class combos, as they essentially cripple themselves to pump out DPS, and many healers don't realise that...

tbh, when I used to be in burn groups, me(scout) popping BA would take almost double the damage the tank takes...and the healer will still be sitting there spamming the tank with heals, watching me bleed out, as I pop phirius pots so aoe won't catch me...

The people who spam MEF when no one's fighting are the same people who will rely on MEF spam to keep people alive.

Either way, you're dead unless there's actually a competent healer or two with you to make up for the incompetent one. For druid healing, MEF is supposed to supplement your other heals, not be the only one you use.

when I said that I meant those druids that keep up their HoT rotation when not in combat, not the MEF spammers...
