How do I play My Knight now?

So the class has finally change for everyone.

Lets hear it, has anyone made use of punishment yet. What skills are worth it what seems like a waste of time and Who thinks they have the best rotation.

Currently Im so confused by what the skills do now compared to what they did I keep finding myself falling into my old rotation.

Im trying to Hate explosion - shield bash - Holy seal - Threaten - Holy strike - disarm - disarm - disarm holy seal repeat until Hate explosion and shield bash are available. Im throwing in the 63% Phys Magic defense buff when I can

Is holy strike even needed or can you get by just disarming so Holy seal is back up sooner?

Or do you think Im all wrong and should play a different way.

Do not ever use disarmement..

Holy seals r added by 2 ways:
Holy strike: 1 seal per hit
Holy seal: 4 seals automatically (10secs cd iirc)

go for something like:
hate - WWS (x10) - holy seal - threaten - shield bash (x10 if hate) - HS (x2.5) x4times - punishment/HS/WWS/threaten etc and rotate at will
[the x values r aggro modifiers]

If K/P u use shield bash more often. Also Holy seal has 7sec cd, thus more frequent instant seals update. Also imba Holy smite does alot of dmg (no aggro modifier though) but provides RAID HEAL (like druids) of 25% hp (at 80) every 8secs. And this is seriously to not be neglected.

Every knight combo is very special now. Gives special elites taht r indeed nice. I.e. K/W puts debuff on boss for 10secs to receive 35% (iirc) more dmg by all party. K/P gets raid heal etc.

its even 41% if its really able to level the skill up to 80. insane ;)

K/P also gets more aggro by simply using his aggro debuff AND using it grants everyone (else?) 25% pdef and mdef ...

prepatch: -25% aggro on others
postpatch: -25% aggro,+25% pdef and mdef on others / +25% aggro on you

Yeah, the new skills look amazing...but still have not had opportunity to use them..darn RL and limited play time...

I have way too many questions and no good way to put them in a post.

Whats top 5 skills to level ( passive and regular )
for regular Im thinking
Holy Strike
Whirl Wind Shield
Threten
Hate explosion ( not sure on the name but replaced Hatred)
Holy Seal

Maybe not in that order.

I assume the General Passives are first priority and then based on class their is a mastery or devotion

do I bother with Resolution or punishment
Disarmament
the new stun
Charge
Shock


and your suggesting I dont use disarmament at all in a tank rotation? or just use it as a filler/easy way to make holy seal available again

thoughts ?

I put no TP into disarmament after the reset, shifted them over to punishment as it now seems worthwhile. Moved holy Seal up towards the front of the rotation, and truth shield bash also. IDK, still going over all the skills and changes, it seems that there are so many roads to take now and so many different directions; I have always been a DPS Knight so I got one way to go, but a true tank would probably go a different route...so many choices now, it's a bit overwhelming.

Knight rotation is still just as simple as it used to be, with a few additions. Shield Truth Bash has a greater aggro multiplier than Whirlwind Shield when Holy Power Explosion is active. Holy Seal has the same aggro multiplier as Holy Strike. Therefore a basic Knight rotation that I would use is

Holy Power Explosion while running to boss > Shield Truth Bash > Whirlwind Shield > Threaten(no longer requires 3 Holy Seals) > Holy Seal > Holy Strike > repeat

The reason why I would use Whirlwind Shield before Threaten is because Threaten does not have an aggro multiplier, it only gives you the 136% aggro increase buff. Majority of the DPS out there go crazy with their cool downs popped at the start of the fight, therefore I believe it is best to build more threat with Shield Truth Bash followed by Whirlwind Shield before popping Threaten for the 136% aggro increase buff. As always, any skill that does not generate threat is useless to a Knight. Disarmament would only be used if there is no other debuff on the boss that currently lowers Defense values and isn't stackable and at this point you have already generated enough threat to not lose aggro while spamming Disarmament. Example: Sapping Arrow.

Knight rotation in pve pretty much unchanged. Knight rotation in pvp....small changes, but knight will still be a complicated pvp class inorder to reach max potential. I am currently relearning my pvp rotations to best utilize k/p skills. Also, which do you guys think, pure pve tanking gear to pvp with, or build a pvp set with more dps. I figure the 30%heal(k/p) every 8 secs with tanking gear on and 200k+ hp should make you next to immortal and pain for even a group to kill.

Just to mention that Holy Smite heal is Raid HEal. Not just on knight, not just on party. And yes, it still heals all kind of trash around u, including herbs, furniture, fences and all crap :P

just want to add that if u are a k/w and maxed ur L70 elite, never use punishment. 70 elite is meant to increase ur damage bye 26% for 10sec but it actually lowers ur damage by 26%.

is it just me or has anyone else found that Holy Strike tends to fail a lot when in a boss fight???. I find on average about 1/3 of my hits tend come up in my combat log as misses due to the boss being "immune" to the hit???

He's not being immune to the hit, he's being immune to the added light damage dot
