Advice for K/M DPS

Looking to get some advice for this combo for PvE DPS. Stating, rotations, gear and weapon choices. Any help would be appreciated.

It basically plays exactly like a W/M...
Full mage gear. Whatever happens to be the best gear at this time for mages.
Weapon: Bethomia Giant Sword
Pop buffs in this order:

Tamb
Lute
Intensification
Strong Stim
SA
20% light damage buff (Can't get ingame can't remember name)
Crit Pot
If boss isnt dead pop frenzy potion when stim runs out.
Repop intensification/light damage buff if fight takes longer than two minutes

Make sure light energy weapon is on. Try to keep Holy Light Domain up throughout the boss. Pop it in between white hits to not affect frequency. It's not going to be a great PvE dps.. but it's not the worst either.

If you play P/K in instances you're garbage

Hey Borella im curious about what you said about it wont being able to do great dps i was in beth norm the other day where i saw one critting for 1m+ with only 108ma using m.dmg food im not sure what the soft cap is for ma on norm but i thought that was pretty op yeah i know its only normal mode but 1m full atk is op! i have yet soo any w/m on my server hit that hard w/o debuffs. i personally think that with further statting and if said k/m can reach 180-190 ma he can be a beast what do you think and have you ever tried dpsing as a k/m if so how do yo ustack up vs other dps mainly w/m i guess how much were your full atk's hitting for on crits, how much ma you were using, were you using ma food or m.dmg food and what instance were you running i look forward to your reply ty:) ps faced you a couple weeks back when u rolled into siege as k/m and boy you hit hard crazy combo for pvp imo.

1kk crit means nothing unless you have comparison with other ppl from the same party.

I can crit over 2kk in normal mode and yet my dps is not even close to end game r/m, w/m, w/wd...
half retired until gameforge fix server lag.

1k crit WTH 1m+ in crits there was a w/m also in party that is 109 ma ub you might not think that thats much but for someone who doesnt meet the soft cap in a instance thats awesome only other person that i have seen break 1m dps is a end game r/m only other person that i have ran with to be clear:) on crit the w/m that was fully geared up with aoth set and all didnt break 1m on crits if only full atk only hit two times w/m would be in trouble imo:)

Sorry to bump this, but I don't feel starting a new thread would be appropriate. If bumping to ask this question isn't right please don't hesitate to slap me

As far as skill rotations for a Knight/Mage, do you JUST white hit? I use Holy Strike and just about all the cooldowns that a Knight has, do you still use all that (Truth Shield Bash as a handy "absorb the next 5-21% of your max HP or something) or do you play mostly like a warrior and just white hit all the time?

And when you say "use Mage Gear", I assume you mean stay with plate but stat it with Mage Stuff, not Cloth gear statted with Mage stuff (or perhaps Cloth gear statted with Tank stuff)?

No. If you want to dps as a K/M you stat and gear exactly like a mage. Cloth gear, int stats, etc. And yeah you just white hit. Using any skills throws off the timing of the white hit. You stand there, and white attack. And watch the world burn basically.

afaik insta cast do not delay a white hit. I stack up to 3 electrical rage and then spam lightning touch between white hits with my w/m. I'm considering to use fireball as well because it does slighty more damage than lightning touch. Although for a k/m I think fireball, lightning and that AOE (forgot its name) should be better than holy strike and others skills based on pdam/pattack

Using skills does throw off white attacks.

For instance, i can hit 60 white attacks with R/m when not using skills.

During that same burn, if I use skills, I lose white strikes.

Thanks all.

I currently have a Lindworm's Magic Bone T11 +16 which has a 3.6 Attack Speed and a Raid VIII inside. It was statted assuming my old class combo of K/S or K/P. It's not providing me the frequency of hits that I would like.

Anything I can do specifically? Get a dagger or anything? I just tried a bit in Course of Terror against the gates and found I could hit Holy Strike twice between White hits...but inevitably as I start to gear, my PAttk (up in the range of 32k) will go down so Holy Strike would do less, I assume?

Anything to supplement the loss of frequency of hitting in general, or nothing I can do because the goal is to one hit everything assuming a strong finish with Full Attack?

And....I noticed Holy Light Domain not doing as much as I would like...typically around 3,000 per hit in typical PVP and around 12,000 per hit in PVE. My stamina is around 20,000. Is that typical? Do I not expect that to do as much as I would assume? Of course I only have it at level 60, I know I'll need to do a TP reset so I can dump more points into it.

Thanks again Borella for sharing your knowledge. :)

Couple of things:

1. You really really need to gear as a mage. My k/m currently is mostly int/stam
2. You REALLY don't want high patk. K/M is known to suicide... I do it a LOT. lol :)) If you kill the opponent w/ a white hit, it's possible for you to get hit w/ the magic damage... I've hit myself for over 240k hits.
3. For pure damage, I'm using the lvl 80 Beth 2-h Mem sword & that hits the gates in CoT for over 1 mil damage w/o buffs. I generally 2-shot them w/ Fireball.
4. K/M also has one of the best dps skills: Silence <-- does Light damage for k/m's. ;)

Yeah. I know I need to gear. I just recently (as in the last 2-3 weeks or so) decided to go K/M and levelled my Mage side up to 45. Now it's just a matter of getting gear in order for it. Not sure if I want to get rid of my K/P or not...haven't decided

A two handed sword? Hm. I likes my shield though :(

I've always liked that extra survivability of having defense in siege. And I don't have the resources to pull together a set of honor gear (I have three pieces right now, but to get the rest, brutal, although I might still do it and fill them up with bag stats).

Just int/stam, or mostly int/stam? I know there's a couple of Stam/matk out there, and int/matk. Are those worth it if you have them laying around or not even worth throwing on gear?

When I'm in a serious Instance, I go 1-h hammer & shield; but for the most part, I just run around w/ my mem 2-h sword. ( it's pretty much a staff as far as magic damage goes ) When I'm doing mem farms in RT, I can hit most of the bosses for around 2-3 mil hits & still have around 180k+ pdef, 100k mdef.

tbh, in siege it's more about being able to kill the other guy faster :)) & you have 3 insta-casts from long range: fireball, lightning & silence.

As far as stats, it's MOSTLY int/stam :) I use stam/matk & int/matk as well. If I didn't have to tank as k/m, I would probably go 2x int/stam, 2x int/matk, 2x stam/matk.

I think my unbuffed matk is somewhere around 90k, mdmg is around 9k.

but the most important thing is your 2 dmg buffs when they're up: Intensification ( k/m gets an elite that makes it a 40 second buff instead of 20 ) & it increases Light damage by 70% at higher levels & holy *something* ( replaced mana return ) which adds +15% light damage for 20 seconds or so.

start off w/ those 2 & your magic hits & HLD will do decent damage.

Also might want to make a macro for HLD & WWS ( since you like your shield :) ) -- basically, check to see if HLD is running on your toon; if not, pop HLD since it's an insta-cast; next check if the CD for WWS is done - if so, pop WWS. :) When you're fighting, just spam that button. lol
