Warrior/Rogue or Champion/Rogue

So I am just getting back into Runes of Magic. I stopped playing right before the two new classes came out. I played pretty much every class combo up to around level 55ish. I really liked playing a warrior/rogue with the ability to dual wield axes and back when I played the DPS was pretty amazing. The champion class seems very similar to the warrior but more tanky so I am guessing you don't want to dual wield axes for a ch/r combo.

Champions use hammers for their main hands not axes. And some dps c/r dual wield 1h hammer and dagger (dagger for the attack speed for rage generation). With the level 70 elite c/r is quite strong dps or tank wise, w/r is also quite strong as well and w/r has a physical defense reduction debuff.

Personally I'd say w/r becuase with the 3rd class you can always get knight if you are human and go w/k when you need more defense (sw for example). W/k is an awesome sw class, since it can stun and has high survivalibity. C/r hits harder then w/k in pvp and pve, but you lose the stunning ability which is important for fighting groups with geared healers.

Both w/r and c/r are good dps wise, c/r might do more atm due to the 70 elite and some other factors but w/r gets the pdef debuff from splitting chop that can help out your team mates in pve. And I personally prefer playing warriors rather then champions, they're just more fun imo.

The best advantage for c/r is that you can dps and tank in 1 set of gear -- while wearing dps statted gear a champion in shield form still gets a lot of stamina, where as on a warrior you need a tank set and a dps set, so 2 sets of gear. In shield form c/r can get high patk still thanks to 70 elite, and enough defense and hp to survive a lot of things, warriors can't get nearly as much patk in a dps set.

hope this helps you decide

afaik, rage generation is a constant # in rage/sec, the only thing that changes with a faster/slow attack speed is rage/hit...most ch/r want the higher attack speed to trigger chain drive more often...
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

Yes rage per second is more or less fixed. But with daggers you get rage "more often" and since most skills don't require much rage it works out being better for c/r -- or so i've been told. I totally forgot about chain drive proc though, that's more likely the main reason.

with a 1.5-1.8 speed dagger in offhand chain drive is almost an instant proc(like GCD instant) during burn...

but, for highest burst dps, 2h hammer is preferred to the higher damage/dps, but post burn, 1h+dagger pulls ahead of 2h dps-wise. except 2h gets only 1 recon and no stat stick, so if you are looking for dps, unless u have a good tank, prepare to have to manage aggro very carefully, while 1h+dagger gets higher post-burn dps, a stat stick, and another recon. most tanks go 1h+dagger(2 hatreds also), while dps can go either, depending on playstyle, and i know some dps ch/r that even have both, and switch, depending on role, tank, dps needed etc...

rereading that, it's a dense paragraph, sorry lol
