Best warden secondary for PK? SW?

wd/s has good dps but is it best for pk since chiron dies so easily
wd/r makes cc hit harder but i havent seen much of them
wd/w is only good if u have a whole plate set... are the elites good for SW? or is Wd/w just a tank
wd/m wind chop has wind damage so is it a good hybrid or is the magic damage next to nothing?
wd/dr will this work with chain melee armor or do i need intel? worth it?

wdn/s and wdn/w are really the mainstream wardens, but there is potential in a magic wdn/d....

wdn/r - no idea, never saw one....mostly because r/wdn is better afaik, but please, some1, prove me wrong...

wdn/m - as magic: no, absolutely not, wdn/d is far better...as physical: not much better than a wdn/nothing
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

mages should stack dex. word.

I have to disagree with that statement. Plate gear is pretty much useless no matter what class you play, and wd/w is god in full chain gear. If you stat it correctly and/or have different sets of chain gear for tank/dps you can do so much. I play on Govinda and our wd/w tank uses full dps stated gear to tank bosses while 70% of the time doing the most burn damage of the entire party, while on mobs uses more tanky stated gear and never loses aggro.

Plate gear just isnt worth anything. You have to go plate gear with crap loads of stam/pa or str/pa to get enough aggro...in which case what is the point of plate in the first place....just go chain and you have the option of going w/wd dps as well.

am I watching the walking dead ? or am I dreaming? I must be.

Wd/D is not just "have a potential", Wd/d in general is great at PVP that is if you combine healing gear with mage gear. I have videos in youtube you can check if you prefer this route. Most people underestimate Wd/D but with the right balance, 1-3 hitting people and still have great PDEF and Amazing MDEf, its really awesome. Not trying to sell things here or anything but a lot of people are misinformed/ no information at all about Wd/d. Coming from a guy with a WD/D and have run it plenty of times both in PVE and PVP, WD/D is just deadly.

My opinions about Wardens in PVP
wd/s is probably one of the best, if not the best in pvp, due to it's:
Ranged skills, which helps a lot, besides another stat stick if you prefer.
a phirius pot D every 3 mins, by making your pet useless for 30s(just re-sumon it)
a few different damage boosts. Won't even include chiron here, since as you already stated, not so useful pvp. It has it's uses, but not too versatile. I rather have SoTO or crystal out.

Wd/w is the other warden that can possibly beat wd/s, due to it's various buffs( damage amplifier, pdef and damage negations) and a better skill rotation than wd/s, which only has Untamable from elites. overall more tanky, and good God mode for 30s =)

wd/d has another approach. Can be just as good as the other two above in pvp, but in a different way. It can be very tanky, have some average heals, and if using healer gear, pretty good heals. And capable of dealing good ammount of damage, as Dexamenus pointed out already. It's a one man army, very good for low ranked guilds, who might lack healers or tanks, so you can fulfill those roles. Only thing i don't like about it, is that to deal damage with it you need to white hit(as you white hit, a magic damage will proc dealing a lot of damage, like w/m and k/m) and with so many roots and stuns in siege now, may be hard to dish out damage. Another point about wd/d is an elite that increases critical resistance, by a lot if maxed.

wouldn't recomend wd/m for siege, it has too many pet enchancements and buffs, which you'll be using mostly for buffs for yourself in siege, they don't get to attack enemies much. Only good thing would be Lightning and silence, which will probably get resisted often, and Windchop has replacements on other combos.

WD/R is a fun one to play, but not as good as the first 3 listed imo. Energy management is a problem in pve, but probably manageable in siege. The damage is not bad, having the enchanced CC+ Shadow stab and rogue attack speed buff. Has blind stab, which is very useful in pvp, and the most fun part of the class is Walker Spirit, that increases move speed and dodge by 50%. wd/r can be the fastest class in game, since this buff stacks with all others(mad rush, Farm/Unbridled or Godspeed, Siege stable buff and Spellweaver[+ Soldiers, charge if you get someone to cast it on you)) and whatever other speed buff you can find ^^.

Everything written above is just my opinion, and can be totally wrong.

there is a wd/r on my server and he is really good with this combo

with walker spirit, u can speed through anything and then get called hacks for it lol

he said he didnt really see a difference in the increased Charged Chop damage.

i see him do work on it, but thats just because he is a great wd/r player that knows what he is doing. But imo, wd/w and wd/s are amazing at PvP. I would classify a wd/d like a k/m. Hits hard with magic white hits, and also is pretty survivable with the damage reductions.

wd/r is a broken class the 70 elite doesnt work.. if it did... prob would be good class. that speed buff is only like 20 sec. only long enough to make people go whoa. and thats it.

imo Wd/d > wd/w = wd/s

wd/d in mage and/or healer gear has survival, can do high damage, ability to heal with recover/charged chop, high crit resist , even higher crit resist in honor gear. Also has ability to heal pet in between fights so you don't need to resummon. Its extremely versatile and hard as fk to kill when they player knows what they're doing -- unless you are quite literally by yourself, getting in range to auto attack someone isn't a big issue because chances are, not all enemies will be trying to root/stun you, AND you can use pvp gloves/immunes to prevent/escape the roots, or have other ppl cleanse. Everytime any warden gets in range to charged chop, a wd/d can auto attack so ask yourself "how often do I get to use charged chop in sw?" and I'm certain the answer is [ quite a often ]

wd/w and wd/s are close. I've played both, can't really tell which is better.

Wd/s gets the ranged attacks so you can kill ranged enemies more easily, and has the interrupt from throat attack. The bow skills make a huge difference fighting mages, esepcially if you equip an actual BOW not xbow, giving anti-magic arrow a huge range. The dmg passive also helps add up during longer or continuous encounters, or for beating on gates for a long time. You can also use centaur for defending gates without running out to die.

Wd/w have 5 hit immune (3 hits every 3 min, 2 hit per 1minute), and pdef/mdef increase from coat of arms. You also get dmg reduction from feral leader and more pdef and 30% hp heal from elven guidance. Elven Guidance has lower cooldown then Sacrifice from wd/s, so wd/w has advantage in survivability. Wd/w can also more effectively burst dps, use berserk, feral leader, immunes, other cds, coat of arms, and you become a semi-hard to kill 300k charged chop wielding maniac for a short time.

Not to nag on anyone in particular, but sht like this on the forums is getting annoying. Half assed answers like that aren't helpful to the person who asked the question. You responded earlier in the thread, but didn't give any analysis to the classes, you statted some obvious things (mainstream wardens) and some not so obvious things like "there is potential in wd/d". Neither of these statements help the OP understand anything about why wd/w or wd/s are mainstream, or why the other classes have "potential". Reading the elite skills and actually seeing first hand (or hearing about it on the forums) can change how one views the class, so keeping information about wd/d for example secret doesn't help anyone but yourself.

I'm sorry if you find this offensive, but sharing information that you know about simple little things won't hurt you, and will enrich someone else's knowledge. You would have been better off not saying anything at all then giving a vague response.

I have always said "play the class you want to play because you like to play it"...and tbh, I really hate these "what's the current FotM class" threads because in and of themselves, they are pointless, because everybody just thinks that there are only a few playable classes...

and yes, I am not overly fond of sharing the nuances of good classes, as "OP" stuff gets hit too fast and too hard with the nerf bat...call me greedy, but can u honestly say that the majority of "adjustments"(nerfs) are really a healthy, acceptable magnitude?

there is a really really way to learn about unique combos...it's called rolling an alt...people have been doing it for years...

I'm sorry if I offend you, but there is really no point in playing a game with 3 races, 8 classes, a dual class system, and (relatively) massive amounts of character customization if everybody is going to do the exact same thing, with the exact same handful of combos...I believe the term "cookie-cutter characters" has been applied to this phenomenon...

on topic: tbh, my personal favorite warden is wdn/d...

I agree with Cike. You would probably be better off picking a combo you like and going with that. I can tell you from experience that trying the "broke" combos will usually yield results in sw/pk due to most players not knowing how to deal with them. I started my warden in mid to late chapter 3, when they were still the red headed step child, and attest they have changed alot for the better.

tbh, this can't be stressed enough...more often than not, they end up calling hax on you because they have never seen a skill/combo/build like yours before...
