Warrior/Mage dps help!

Hello, Im looking for any endgame war/mage dps players, My dps seems so low compared to r/m's in any instance i run, but im cofident im doing everything right,
is my scrut from Pillars Normal mode, 2nd boss. 698k dps, while a r/m did practically twice mine.
And my white hits are only hitting for 400k x2 which seems low.
My unbuffed stats are, 9683 magical damage, 110k matk, and 6000 crit, with 65k hp
my rotation goes as follow:
Rage cape
Extinction pot
strong stim
intensification
and Frenzy
And charge in get electrical rage stacked up to 3, and spam lighting's touch and Attack skill
Lute and Tambo running also running
Buffs I use, hero pot, lvl 85 magical attack food, or lvl 85 mdg depending, (mysterious grace if druid is there), wedding food, title is Story Ceremony Writer(2%matk increase, 300 mdg increase), Zodiac Pets, leg and adult, 3% and 2% increase in attribute
During Burn im at about 290k matk, ahd about 10k mdg.
Not sure what im missing, unless dyice is what i need to do any better dps, my dps isnt even close to r/m dps with better and even okay gear, i know it should be closer, im in all pom gear, stated 5/1 and 5/2, if im missing anything that could be the difference.
My dps in most bosses, usually is about 600k-800k dps while most rouges are 1mill-1.5mill dps in our runs.
Thank you! :) :D ;) 8)

being not a w/m i can suggest u the following:

- remove intensification out of ur buffing rotation. it just provides Flat extra dmg, which u dont even need. better save this 1 sec gcd from buffing for extra dps
- try not spam lightning touch since it affects ur white-hits-frequency. although it shouldnt be that way, it is.. so just get electric rage to rank3 and keep white-hitting
- dont "spam" attack since it affects white-hits frequency. use once to get in white-hit range (aka 30 range) and dont use again unless tank has moved boss. while in white-hit range, use electric rage to start stacking it (aka 50 range). wait for getting in 30 range before stacking electric rage else u ll be "stuck" at 50 range without white-hitting.
- u dont need diyce as w/m. at all. never.

Hi! You should be using moti blended sausage in your buffing rotation, also are your rings +16? What tier weapon do you have and which? Was the tank a knight/warrior or something else? A lot of factors can make or break damage. Anyway as has been posted above don't use lightning's touch, also make sure you have electrical rage, thunder attack and flame attack maxed. There was a few guides written on this forum maybe you should go gave a read if you want to learn abit more.

Take what you will from my guide, It may or may not help you at this point because you seem to be fairly endgame.

I do mention that lightnings touch shouldn't be used in boss rotation. Since you are saying you spam it during the fight I would assume that it's somewhat responsible for your dps being lower than it should be.

The frequency of your white-hits is the most important factor in DPS for W/M. Spamming another skill effects how often your white attacks go off.

Yeah my guide isn't stickied in the warrior forum and I don't assume it will be unless enough people like it or it is requested to be stickied. I don't know that its an amazing guide but might be worth looking through for anyone aspiring to play W/M dps.

Thanks Kalvan :D

Hopefully that should make it easier to find for newer players.. not that there are very many threads in the warrior thread to begin with, but it just makes it more noticeable.

I did a few tests last night, 45 seconds of attacks then counted the regular hits with Scrut. Whether I used Lightning's Touch or not, I got the same number of white swings over 45 seconds. Now I wasn't using speed up pots...

So I don't know where the comment that Lightning's touch messes up white hits. Ill have to do more testing, but I was sure that wasn't the case. Anyone have any recent testing to support that is slows the hits? Or a reason why?

I wonder if the OPs comment about spamming attack could be the problem, but I don't know.. I didn't test that.

Also the question becomes for DPs difference, Does your group use tactical smash? Do they use Ironblood will and you not? Does your group have a s/r or s/w? There are some debuffs that only affect physical defense, Exploiting shot, tactical smash, and there are some more. That could also explain the difference in dmg.

Also is your group a guild that may not have all the buffs for both parties in 12 man runs. I have been on runs that group one was all R/ms and they made sure that group had full buffs, While Group 2 was missing a LOT. This meant that group 2 dps was ALWAYS a lot lower.

I tested it last time I ran grotto. With full buffs I'm getting quite a bit lower dps when I try to weave lightnings touch in between the white hits. It does seem to be effecting my frequency of white attacks when at full speed buff.. The highest dps I recorded in the instance were the 2 bosses that I didn't try to use it. Now I would have to go back and test all the bosses with it and without it and the same buffs to be sure but as far as I can tell right now it does make a difference.

Might be the fact I wasn't fully buffing? I would figure over such a long time, with my standards speed ups (raid/pet), I should have seen some difference. Ill have to check on something harder that I would actually fully buff for and take more than 10 secs to kill lol
