Nerf the R/M

Every time i run into one of these guys its shadow prison then hit you 10 times per second. 10 different hits in one second is overkill. They really need slowed down since they still hit pretty hard. And no i'm not making up the 10 times in 1 second, i use a addon to track damage and time between hits.

I agree. R/M is the worst class I have ever faced in siege war. The ch/m k/m r/wd aren't even an issue. I can't ever kill a r/m!

Out of all of the somewhat viable arguments to nerf R/M, PvP is not one of those viable arguments.

r/wd, r/m, r/k, ch/r, ch/m, k/s, k/m, wd/w, wd/s, m/wd, m/s, w/wd, w/k, p/k, w/m, wl/ch

Just a quick list of some great siege war classes, if you aren't one of them (or the few i missed) vs a r/m you're probab;y going to die. If you are one of those classes, you're either under-geared in comparison, or just need more experience on your class in pvp.

(Lets buff some classes before any nurfs are handed out plz :s )

Edit: And agree with Borella, it's great in PvP yes, but PvE is their bigger area of complaints ^.^

Meaningless list as you can just dodge/silence any of those combos and r/m wins. Although I don't imply r/m is immortal in SW. Most r/ms get rekt by my m/k or whatever combos i choose to play.

You know how you can prevent a r/m from silencing you? Silence. As I stated above, if you're dying to every r/m you see, it could be a lack of knowledge on certain classes.

if u face a r/m and the first skill u use on him is .. silence .. then u need to reconsider ur pvp mentoring

If you are silencing to disable their silence, it's viable. That is the 1% of players who know what they are doing. Those are good pvp players.

When a high HP r/m is against me in sw, I can usually expect a shadow prison or silence, And id rather have my first attack using up one second of my time, rather then get silenced and have that take up 5 seconds. Also if its a high HP rogue who has wondered out alone, they will most likely want to vanish/escape from me and a pocket healer by silencing me so I can not T-storm. I don't do it often no, but some rogues you catch on to their habits in a siege, and silence is just one way to counter that problem.

Invalid point as most rogues jump on you in hide!

Don't you run SW with 80k hp or so? there is no need for hide or silence, 1 hit and your dead anyways. Don't forget sneak attack.

Most sieges I'm at around 300k hp, depending if i'm in full honor gear/rock pot, and which mage I'm playing, And as I was referring to high HP PvP statted rogues, most are in a group for heals and are usually stuck in combat therefore out of hide. At least that has been my experience in the US server sieges.

Out of all of the somewhat viable arguments to nerf R/M, PvP is not one of those viable arguments.

Sorry, but having seen this same argument used by P/S a hundred times in the ice blade threads, I just had to laugh.

Kind of have to agree with that last comment. Like it or not, most of the major class changes in this game, for better or for worse, have been from a PvP perspective.

Why our changes have come from something that people do an hour a day I'll never know, but that's how it goes in RoM

I believe you both were reading Borella comment wrong... unless it was just me ^.^ I believe they are saying that if someone is asking for a nurf to r/m, use the argument from a pve perspective because they are much more OP on the pve side of things. Where as in pvp there are quite a few classes equal to it.

I'm willing to entertain the idea that they might deserve a nerf in PvE, though even there not really because there's classes that are equal or superior to them. But they are so far from OP in PvP. So many classes are so much more powerful in PvP than a R/M, and if a R/M is the one class you can't counter in PvP, that's a player or a gear problem not a class imbalance.

@RTP-

That was actually exactly my point. I don't at all AGREE with the changes being made from a PvP point of view, but that's always (or more accurately mostly) where the class changes and nerfs come from.

Throughout the years of RoM i feel it's safe to say (as shown by the original post after all) that people are most passionate about and most vocal about what happens to them in siege, so people cry "nerf"

You never see (in RoM anyways) many or any threads that start off passionately calling for a fix (or more accurately nerf) to a class because of PvE (if the class is considered OP that is.) So that's where when class changes in RoM happen, they stem from PvP...emotions we'll call it.

Because you guys are talking about completely different scenarios. Rogues in general are OP where sieges are oneshots (mainly in lower end sieges), because first hit wins. And a rogue in hide will inevitably get that first hit off. Not really because of rogues, but just the way siege is designed. Also, at this range, people are usually not playing fotm classes like M/Wd.

On the other hand, outside of one shot sieges, there's plenty of classes that can take a R/M. They aren't more OP in PvP in general - just that the way siege was being a oneshot fest happened to benefit them a lot more than others.

RTP's advice to silence R/M is only applicable in endgame sieges. In sieges where people are oneshot and rogues are always in hide, silencing them is not an option because you can't see them. And even if you could, their CT will oneshot you anyway (and I'm not talking about all 4 hits killing you - I mean the first hit from CT kills you) and you'd be better off using a damage skill to try to oneshot them rather than worrying about silence. In fact, you'd probably want them to silence/SP you first, so you have time to immune, because if they oneshot you right away, you have no chance to do much of anything.

hmm.... there we go... got another idea for my class balancing thread, now. ty matron. Let's make Ice Blade have no cd, and cost 30 or 40 focus. that would make it unspammable after running out of focus.

25 focus is what it should cost. not 40. focus regenerates at half the rate of energy.
