CH/R issue

Now.. ive been away from this game for a while came back recently... started building a champ... having lots of fun... very fun class btw.

Then someone tells me... that ch/r was nerfed... and i say how...?

I didnt know you used to be able to stack damp and amp together on champ before...

But now niether can be used???

So i dug out old patch notes to find..
Corrected a problem with the Champion/Rogue elite skill “Shadow
Explosion”:
When players had the effect of Shadow Explosion and a Priest used
Amplified Attack or a Druid/Warrior used Awakening of the Wild on these
players, there would be a note that the player has gained immunity, but
part of the physical attack would still be increased. Now physical
attack is no longer increased.

So is this their logic? Its either shadow explosion.. or damp.. or amp?? i dont believe thats very fair at all...

Shadow Explosion is a class generated skill.... and either damp and amp is a BUFF from another player... i dont think that you should have to choose one or the other....now while im typing this... i havent personally checked myself... so i could be wayyyy off base... or could be wrong and everything is fine.

I do agree that its a bug that needed to be fixed for stacking of damp and amp bla bla.. but i do believe you should be able to choose one or the other...just... like... every... other... class...this..game... has... to... offer.... lmao

Any thoughts???

Players regularly choose between one buff or another...

Unicorn / grace
patk vs pdef vs hp housemaid
grassland vs pdef food
even some cds, mostly damage reductions, that can be cast on other palyers don't necessarily stack with that player's current buffs (can't mother earth protecton while wd/w has feral leader iirc).

With that said, yes c/r's should still get either aotw or amp. Even without, they still do good damage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmVy_kmZeAc shows c/r doing good dmg both during burn and outside of it.

well the thing is.. i can run around for next 100 years with shadow explosion on... can only run around with damp or amp for fixed time... hence the argument im trying to make for ... a class skill shouldnt remove... a "buff".. idk... im just fighting the good fight!! rofl

I guess the logic was that shadow explosion functioned like C/R's own "enhanced" version of amp, so you get one like all other melee classes and that's it, just like you can either get amp or damp, but not both, or how I cannot stack enhanced magic barrier from another class with my own magic barrier, which is a class generated skill from my own class.


Whether that's fair or not, i guess that depends on how C/R does in endgame.

your not helping my case here... your supposed to say...

ch/r just isnt keeping up to par... but being able to have amp or damp would really help it out... i agree with cerb. they should be able to.

Psh, just roll ch/wl and get it's 30% patk buff and damp or amp :P lmao. No guarantees on how well it will do in comparison to ch/r, but it shouldn't be too much worse than a ch/r.

Yes some things have to choose which buffs they want.
Except for those sweet sweet magical attack buffs from m/p, p/s, and d/wd.

Though to be fair, magical dps seems to need more help at times in comparison to some physical dps burns.
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

idk... you throw a wl/m into party and "magically" they go to top of scrut pretty easily nowadays.... lol...

and that just furthers my point some, about how many buffs a magical class can stack, yea i know weve been over this a thousand times... but dont u think every class should be able to get atleast ONE buff to add? Besides their own class specific skills?

At least physical dps classes don't have to stat and plus two entire sets of gear in order to be viable dps.

At the end of the day, who cares how much buffs you can stack.
Whether you do viable DPS is what really matters.

its not about what classes can buff what... lol its a fact of that ch/r ... cant... get.. any.... nevertheless stack anything rofl.

All i am asking( im sure more is too, be nice if they spoke up too to further the cause, and im not even a champ) that they allow a ch/r to be able to have ONE. thats all. im not asking for class tweaks, class nerfs, nothing lol

They should be allowed to stack it to stack either amp or awakening on top of their self buff. There cerb, and I don't play champ anymore. :)

Also, cike's right in comparing apples to bicycles, since as long as a mages damage is base damage and not % based on cast... Charge chop weave will always out dps, with wl/m in party or not. Maybe if you do stack p/r m/p p/s d/wd every time you run something you can match it as a mage. However your entire party will also hate you for having to rebuff every 15 minutes and run back in since who brings those into instances now a days, and since transport crystals in instances didn't continue to be used.

You also have to remember melee can stack atk speed buffs and get 2 damage buffs from instruments. I know this is off topic but mages being able to stack buffs was brought up. We may be able to stack matk buffs, but each buff a melee uses in an instance gives a damn better bonus to a melee then to a magical buff counter part (stim vs ASW). Example: lute, FT, SA, Strong stim, tac :thumbdown:
