My Curiosity & Experimentation on Priest/Champ.

Hello all,

For starters, I have not really had the interest of playing the FoTM classes (r/m, w/m, k/m, m/wdn, etc) and I've always had a dwarf priest since the dwarf class came out. So, without further ado, here is my guide on what I've learned for what the Do's and Dont's of playing p/ch.

EliteSkills-

  • 15: Infused Light Chain, basically what this elite does is take AWAY the CD of CoL, not to mention increase the damage and gives rage. Which is important and I'll explain further in this guide.
  • 20: Heart Rune Energy, eh, its can be a lifesaver sometimes, uses rage (20) but when you spam CoL its good in SW, wouldn't level past 50 imo.)
  • 25: Protection Rune Seal, basically its a buff to regenerate. I believe its 10% or 20%. Also, each of regenerates tic has an 8% chance to take away the CD time of Heart Rune Energy. But its only happened a couple times to me but the buff to regenerate is always nice.
  • 30: Healing Diamond Light, Okay this is where the real healing potential comes in of p/ch. The heals go off of INTELLIGENCE. Which is odd but based of my calculations this skill is also changed by Healing Power (duh) and Wisdom. Except the 10% int is added to the heal. The only downfall is it costs 7% mana every second. Yes, I know, I've already tried mana consumption reduction, but sadly it only does the initial cost. Hopefully this can be changed (fingers crossed).
  • 35: Diamond Light Activation, This is actually a very VERY nice skill. It give you 33% of your mana back, as well as increases healing by 33% for 15 seconds. Very nice, but the CD is 2 minutes. Which is a bit too long for me. If I could change it I'd change it to 1 minute. But hey, I can live with it.
  • 40: Quick Heal, eh, it increases the heal of Heart Rune Energy if the targets HP falls below 40%. Kinda neutral for me. But i'm either one shot or close to it. So I usually don't have time to cast it.
  • 45: Rune Footstep, Epic skill imo. it doesn't max out at 50 (but I keep it at 50 just for TP purposes) But at level 50, it increases your movement speed by 20% and healing by 10%. Woah... Only cost 20 rage, not bad at all, especially with rage potions/aoth cape.
  • 50: Beacon of Regeneration, Okay uhm, this is my favorite skill and will remain my favorite skill especially if you combine it with the 30 elite (Healing Diamond Light). So let me get this straight... Every time I cast a healing spell (except for regenerate) It will do another 60-70k base? Yes. Yes it does. Here's the thing though, it DOES NOT crit. Sadly, but its alright and ill tell you why. I've had this with all my healing buffs on (including Rune Footstep, Healing Salve, Diamond Light Activation, etc.) I've healed for about 110k with this Beacon, except its at level 72. And Healing Diamond Light hits every second. With that being said, so does BoR while its activated in the time of HDL. Also, it had a CD of 30 seconds, but that's how long it lasts! So if you time it right, Its like an enhanced version of Life Link (p/k).
  • 60: Tower of Vitality, somewhat like another warlock buff on top of the warlock buff and lasts for 20 seconds. Not bad! (I've don't have this elite yet on reni, but I've had it before and it's epic.
  • 70: Light Connection, HOLY, you can't cast this on yourself. But in sw and in instances you can level it to cap. It gives the person you cast it on a 32% decrease to ALL DAMAGE, and 32% to movement speed as well, not to mention YOU get the speed increase as well, but not the damage reduction. It has a CD of 6 seconds. But and I believe it lasts 6 seconds as well. But I have macro in the making that you can cast it on anyone that is near you on your team. In sw, Rune Footstep, Madrush, Spellweaver, Thunder Force, AND LC... Yea, its amazing omg. (note, I havent had the skill on reni either. But its amazing.)
So yea, those are the skills. Now lets get on to the gear/stats.

Stats: Int/Stam, Stam/HP, Stam/Wis, Int/Wis, followed by some Stam/Def is the way to go. (This is a hybrid way to heal, I'm not trying to say this is the p/k or human priest way to build by any means.

Gear: Gear with some Intelligence/Wisdom ghost stats on it is always nice. But I preferably stat Int/Matk, Int/Stam for s/w. Also note that I use Ppots and keep my HDL intact while the party is burning.

Foods: Pretty self explanatory. Use damage food and ALWAYS use Exotic Fruit Pies (Mana cost by 25% for 1 minute, easy to make with crafting. Level 34 or 36 I believe.)

SW: Just max out CoL and go nuts. But here's what I do: ALWAYS keep moving. CoL cancels by movements or getting hit. So, just keep constantly moving and with all your speed, its happens a bit faster (i've noticed) because I feel like the game can register your speed and cancel right when you move.

In the long run, I believe p/ch can be viable as the old p/s ONLY in sw. And its viable as a end game healing class for instances. And all you really have to max is CoL, Rising Tide, and Light connection. Everything else maxes at 50, or just keep around 60-65ish.

So yea, if you guys have any other questions for me and my guide, just comment. Also, I'll try to make a video sooner or later and edit it in here so y'all can see the burst heals. Or in SW me hitting people for 125k with one tic of CoL. That equals the old Ice blade.

Thank you all for looking at this guide.

Can we get an update on this? i don't know if you are even still playing since your sig is level 90, but if you are, it would be nice to see how this is coming along.

Looks like you can do some nice dps in SW (pre-nerf p/s potential) and do pretty good heals with just one set of gear.

I know my priest/lock is just freaking broken in healing, never really looked into p/ch.

As a p/chmp, I can do about 110k heals, on everyone every second. tank gets another 100k on top of that. For well over 30 seconds. (burn phase). Only problem it doesn't heal the entire raid. other than that p/chmp has real good heals, real good sustain (not that its needed ATM.) And Viable DPS if built like a mage. Chain of light hurts, ALOT. And with no Cooldown and no cast time if moving, its like a fireball to the face, every second.

wl/r
r/wl
p/ch
ch/m

ugh so much effort ;(

but anyways, with p/chmp and p/lock in a party, thats like so much insanely fast powerful heals. and then during burn u got 16% more attributes? i can see it now, little men healing their hearts away :)

can the dwarf priests take over the world!?!?! muahaha

The thing about the P/Ch attribute raising skill is that it is a stationary tower with a short range (80 I think). You leave that range and you lose the buff, so kinda inconvenient. IDK about the P/Wl....but the Warlock general buff is super.

The p/Chmp buff isn't that bad to be honest, a good p/chmp know he has to be within 80 of the raid to heal them with a frontal AOE anyway... So chances are goo he's ognna drop the pillar right under the boss. So you will get full effect, and unless there is a REALLLY good reason to run, or you are feared. The buff will remain. Id also like to take this time to mention the speed boost and DMG reduction a p/chmp can bring, up to like 30%+... While still healing. And yes any combination of p/chmp's and p/wl's will heal just about anything that isn't a combo damage (multiple hits at the same time [like lightning burn weapon]) or a 1 shot. But WOE is me, if we have to sacrifice a raid slot. :P On a side note they should sell those items, the ones that allow more than 12 people in a instance... You know what I'm talking about... Just get 2 priests, and soulbond your way to victory.
