Rogue/druid vs Rogue/priest

Rogue/druid vs Rogue/priest

So I am new to the game and so far I am enjoying it. I have some questions regarding the rogue/"healer" options. Mainly I will play solo due to time restraints these days. I figured this combination would give me the ability to solo a decent amount of content as I progress trough the game and I like the rogue gameplay.

Which of these 2 combos would be best?

Also... Trying to understand the dual class system better. Can I switch to the Healer main class and go heal a dungeon, then switch back to rogue as the main class and do dps? Basically having 2 specs or a dual purpose?

If you've already made your character, then you are already locked in as to which healer you can choose. Elves can only choose druid, and humans/dwarfs can only choose priest. Unless you don't mind starting over of course.

There's not a very big difference between the 2 when it comes to questing... only thing that comes to mind is R/P gets Holy Aura (5 sec immune skill). However, both are weak compared to other combos when in comes to endgame. But since you can pick a 3rd class at 20/20, it's fine to take druid/priest to quest with.

Yes, you will be able to switch between each class, but only at a House Maid... sorry you can't do it on the fly, or in the middle of a dungeon.

Rerolling isn't a problem. I figured I would have the most survivability picking up a healer class. I will be mainly just soloing and pug dungeons and such. I read that rogue/warden would be a good soloer... What would you suggest I pair a rogue with... rogue/???

For solo gameplay a r/wd would be your best option yes :) r/p I find very enjoyable for pvp however in pve falls very short. r/d never considered.

Cant really comment on r/d.

I suggest you don't pick a healer off class because of the heals. I hardly ever use my heals in the middle of a boss fight when soloing. Rogues MO is dodge and burn for the most part.

R/P is easily the funnest class to play, but comes with its challenges. As far as whether its endgame or not .... well we will just see about that when the time comes. I suggest not listening to the fluff that will follow my post (as it always does). If you have any questions about R/P specifically you can ask me in game.

If for whatever reason you decide to reroll to a fotm class its not that hard to do, so don't be afraid to try something you might enjoy regardless of what other say about it.

As a r/wd how will I heal myself? Pots? or is there something else I a missing?

Thanks for the reply. I read a lot of folks just talking about min/maxing. I understand the need... There wont be time for raiding in my future. Are you able to complete the pve content you attempt or want?

R/wd recieves elite skills that allow you to heal yourself by a certain % of health, mixed with high physical defense and health potions, along with being 1 of the 3 top damage rogues, makes it the all round best ROGUE solo class. r/m and r/s are the other 2 top damaging rogues. Others can do fine for soloing but simply cant beat these three classes when it comes to damage done.

for lower level soloing, heal offclass is better than higher dps (imo), as the dps difference will not allow you to burn fast enough to take minimal damage.

i find r/d to be more effective than r/p for trash (poison shroud and low CD buffs), while r/p better for bosses (holy aura....'nuff said).

as stated previously, r/wdn is a very viable combo, but at lower levels, it sucks too much mana to be effective imo.


from the statements OP has made, it seems he enjoys the lower levels more than thinking about endgame.
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

mages should stack dex. word.
