Warrior/Scout a usuable combo?

So, first off, this is my first post, and I'm still pretty new to ROM. I played a little WoW back in the day, but there are way more classes and combinations with this. After toying around for a few weeks, I think I'm ready to get a little more endgame with this now, and while it is all about having fun, which I am, I want to make sure I'm not just wasting time, too.

I've played every class to level 10 at least once, and with multiple configurations of second classes to level 10 or higher. My highest build is a Druid/Scout (12/17) that I started along the way because I thought group healing might be fun. The Scout class is a blast - Vampire Arrowing Kobalds from across a field is about as satisfying as it gets - but the Druid part kind of blows imo, and serves no purpose after a while except for the healing skills. My other one that I have had fun with is a Knight/Warrior (12/13), and though I never thought tanking would be enjoyable, I really, really like solo combat with the Warrior class. Knight I can take or leave, but hands down the K/W combo has been a beast from the start.

So, my noob question - I have not found much info on the Warrior/Scout combination, and I have to assume that there's a reason for that. I'm already sure it'd be fun to play for at least a little while, but for a long-term PVE build, would this combo be worth it?

Its could for burst dps but after that 10 to 15 secs it will suck if you want sustained dps w/m or r/m would be the way to go

Current meta W/S has the best burst DPS.

Not sure if you know, but you can pick up 3 classes for free. If you go W/S and pick up Warden as your 3rd you can go W/Wd for a bit less burst but a bit more sustained. Good luck and have fun!

Yeah, can see where that would be an issue.

My primary thinking was that I've become completely accustomed to the ranged weapons and sniping, am pretty well hooked on Scout, but being able to attack multiple targets with decent HP at once is so handy. Why I thought those two together would be good.

I like the idea of combat archer, and that stat is pretty cool, thanks... with that in mind, though, would adding Warden as a 3rd compensate for sustainability enough? Would hate to get into a guild and suddenly be the first one back to the resurrection rock every time

would just starting out as S/Wd be better, then Warrior as a 3rd?

Warrior/scout used to be a horrible class combination compared to w/wd w/r w/k w/p w/m. It was buffed a while back, but by that time two things happend:
1) most people stopped playing warrior primary
2) decline in population --> fewer posts about anything.

so the majority of information on the forums comes from when runes of magic population was significantly larger than what it is/has been in the last year.

Scout is viable endgame. S/r s/wd s/w are all good, with the first two being more desirable. These three combinations offer debuffs to increase party dps, whily still providing its own dps.

This is more player skill than anything else. Current PVE meta is all dps build glass cannon, so added defence from warden is meaningless.

I said that more to humor myself than anything, tbh - I'm so very not claiming to have a clue what I'm doing yet.

have you tried wd/s? has a pretty similar playing style to w/s, except that wd/s has chiron to help do more dmg and ofc no rage or chained skills; those are unique to warriors and warlocks.

Am already pretty sure this where I've decided I'm going. I have a R/Wd already, but only played Warden to level 3 - kind of want to play around a little bit more before I go all in, but seems like a pretty balanced match. I'd have already been working on it by now had I not just spent the last 3-1/2hrs shopping for the "perfect" socks to go with her St Paddy's Day outfit (I really wish I was kidding)

Thanks for all the input and opinions, everybody!

R/Wd is actually very viable in PVP (Siege War) and soloing because of their added defense and ability to self heal (much to the annoyance of actual healers). But if you choose Wd/S, you will be very well served as they are always welcome in end game raids due to the Morale Boost skill, are survivable (all wardens are survivable) for PvE soloing and do very good sustained damage (due to Chiron).

If you also decide to play a scout, there isn't much to add to Blank's post. Welcome to the game :)
I don't support 1 Server. I just like the Anagram - GOAT GRIP!

Thanks! I don't really have much interest in playing on the PvP side yet, maybe once I get going and know what I'm doing I'll try it, but soloing for now really has been the best crash-course. I did make my Wd/S and am at 13/12 with him so far. Has been a really good mix for me and what I like about the gameplay, and aside from going cross country and somehow ending up somewhere I was waaay too weak to be (I died more times than a Winchester before finally just recalling out), I haven't run into anything that one or the other wasn't well suited to handle.

I did keep 3 of my original toons that are all 10/10 or higher (K/W, R/Wd, and D/S), so if I ever want to continue on with any of those or want a change of pace I can, but am having plenty of fun with this one atm, so going to see what all I can get into out there. 8)

Wd/s is not better dps than w/s maybe if the fight was 5 min long than the wrd/s will do more maybe but most fights aren't 5 min long but they do have a good support buff.

W/S is definitely the best burst DPS in game but it requires a group full of slashing w/x or x/w. Wd/S's are valuable because of Morale Boost first, DPS second. Either way - Wd/S is very valuable.

I would recomend not questing as w/s, it is only good in very specific situations and it would probably be a pain for you to quest playing it. Wd/s is a good questing option, the absorbs, pet and constant damage from charged chop makes it easy to get around with it. If your endgoal is to end up pve top dps you might want to consider questing as a s/wd instead since you will need to have scout maxed to play w/s. It is indeed the best dps in most fights for endgame, but isn't really quest friendly. I would recomend w/wd for questing/doing dailies with the warrior side charged chop makes it so you don't need to get rage to do damage.
