Magio, I when I cam on here, I was posting what I know, I did not attack you, or any one in particular. I simply stated the very obvious reason why so many classes are discredited immediately with out being given a chance due to players not under standing how certain classes play.

"Anyways, we understand P/W should be a DPS, but it just doesn't work... sorry."

How do you figure it does not work? If I was in full dps (not tanking gear) and held equal dps to a m/lock (debuffing class) would I still not be dps? Maybe not pure dps true, I bring buffs, and OSHT healing to the table while m/lock debuffs and dps.

" For pure dps discrepancy, I do not know how much difference there is.

It's astronomical... Ignorance."

Um, ok once again what are you comparing? If it is flavor of the month this argument holds true for all dps classes that are not flavor of the month (w/r, w/d, w/p, wd/d, wd/r, wd/m, ch/x (minus ch/r), m/x (except m/w, m/wd),s/x except s/wd maybe s/w), warlocks, r/wl,r/d,r/p, and i am sure I missed some that were not a fav of the developer team or on par dps wise with w/s, m/w, (not sure but I think r/m and r/s do fair still). So that makes up for about 80% of all dps class combos are astronomically behind?

"Many things are "balanced" in easy and normal mode when everyone surpasses Pdef/Mdef soft caps. The problem comes in Hard Mode where only a handful of classes get enough attack and damage to do anything that actually counts."

Now this is where you nailed it on the head about dps. Yes, in hardmodes only a select group of classes will surpass the deff caps. Meaning that then the dps difference will be astronomical and not acheiable by the other dps combos. However, I was answering the original poster in general, not the 5-10% of endgame content runs that do not take place nearly as often as normal mode runs.

" As for pvp, monk is a beast. A well played monk has the tools for bringing down every class in the game, well k/p can be a pain

You can say that about pretty much any combo..."

really? ok not going to argue this one.

Over all, Magio, I have no idea what provoked you into the personal attacks. Nothing I posted was untrue. In fact, i think it really comes down to is what your using as a reference to base your condescending attitude on. I base my information on what is the norm or 90% of what you will actually be doing ingame, not on that small 10% of endgame hardest mode instance runs that are difficult for even the flavor of the month classes to get in on.

Sorry fellow community members that this derailed the thread, If the OP is still interested in the monk class, by all means ask away. I may have left when cap was only 75 but monk has not changed since then. Nor should it be changed for in its current state minus the lvl 60 elite(heal mechanic seems too low), it is fairly balanced. It would be nice if melee cloth was offered during the quest line, but thats fine all the same with cheap blue gear stats and whites.

To be honest, P/W is actually amazing at siege. I've fought a few siege geared P/W over the years, and they are some of the most difficult people to fight. They hit amazingly hard considering that they have no burn, and have huge amounts of survivability.
To be honest, I do not know why they appear to hit hard. Some times it almost seems like the spam attack bypass the attack speed and gives extra hits in the same amount of time, have yet to actually do a Time vs Number of hits to determine if it is lag or if it really is bugging and throwing in an extra swing (not white hits but actual skill use). For siege, I agree they are a pain for others to fight. Mostly because the lack of knowledge on what monks can do leads players into a false sense of security thinking that the class is a push over. Many times you will see a rogue just hop out of hide hit you with low blow once then run off thinking "o ya, why waste a second hit" just to find a pssd off priest chasing them (then they call hacks when you kill them lol).
