warrior/warden is a strong class combination, as a warrior though you will find it a bit hard in the begining as the rage generation in rom is not the best. Here is a couple tips that should make leveling smoother.
1. join a guild and use the guild buff towers. these give a flat value to hp/mp, pdef/mdef, pa/ma. believe a level 7 towers is about 3.5k hp.
2. keep charged chop maxed and use it a lot, don't forget to use mana potions pretty much all the time it'll fasten up w/e killing you want to do.
3. once you reach 15/15 and every 5/5 level after until level 50 you will get access to elite skills, those are extra skills based on your class combination. to unlock then the easiest way is to do the quest with the pirates in heffner with an old bag as reward. should apear in purple/pink on your map.
4. once you reach level 20/20 you get a quest to get a 3rd class in varanas and also get the option to port to heffner camp among other things. it is much faster to quest in coast of opportunity then xaviera compare to silverspring. once you get to heffner i would recommend doing daily quests(blue quest with phirus tokens as reward) everyday it'll give you a nice boost of exp. you can do 10 of them every day.
to answer your question about pets, in general on rom if you want to be f2p you have to get gold, then make a deal with someone who has diamonds(real $$ curency). For instance on mithras you can buy diamonds 70k per. I would say most sellers are trustworthy, loosing one's reputation isn't worth a bit of gold so it works pretty well.
Now if you are interested in making a pet, the way i would recommend doing it is by buying a lvl 50+ holy earth pet from ah, then feed it a bunch of other pets(feeding it a earth pet gives 50 and a rune pet gives 100) to increase it's training points and use awakening potions to convert the trainning points into aptitude until you get it to 100 and use awakening potions to get talent point out of your training points. use the talent points to max the different pet skills. the ones you want are attack speed, crit damage, physical attack and as lower priority you can also get hp and pdef/mdef and improved healing. a pet isn't worth leveling past 50. You can get those 2 items by trading golden eggs for them at millers farm. golden eggs can be acquired by doing a daily in miller's farm(doesn't count in your 10 you can do everyday), some special events organised by gameforge or by trading mirror world currency. you need to be 95+ to run mirror world. you can also buy the items for diamonds, but it tends to be a bit more expensive.
