Inventory / AH limits -not so good in a great game

Hi,

Thank you for a neat game that is F2P. It plays very nice and is very fun.

That said, there's a couple turnoffs for me. Free is free, but if the game turns out to be incredible in later levels I'd be willing to spend money. I love the F2P model and I'm glad to see it come back full force - I played old school MUD's that were "based" off other muds but not completely, such that the GM's took "donations" (legally since non-Diku, self written) in exchange for other currencies used for item/stat upgrades (also available to anyone that played, if they played ALOT). F2P is awesome -- you can see the game first, like it, then pay and reward the creators.

There is a severe gimp to inventory for new players (maybe veterans too). As I leveled I got swamped by items that were valuable but didn't mean much to me at the moment, so I AH'ed them. By level 14 in a single day I already maxed my auction-house limit of 30 items. So everything else I have needs to be junked or vendored. I'm lost.

Maybe players can buy other inventory bags or increase max auctioned items? There is not enough information about this or really how increasing your level at something via paying increases limits?

I'm a RP tradesperson .. In my last game, not to mention names (but the last expansion was trash), I once had 2000 items up for auction.

30 in RoM seems really really low.

To any devs, I'd say make how the game works more available. I asked my guild who is 20-65 how to buy more inventory bags and they said they didn't know, they think you rent them, but not sure how, because they live for 2 bags. I don't know either :(

Great game though, I'm just a trader so I'm not sure this is going to work out :/

For more inventory space, you have to pay real money for the game (since I don't think you can afford them from dia sellers at lv 14).

You can buy them with rubies at the ruby shop (presss / in the game, click on "ruby shop" tab at the top of the new opened window)
You can get rubies by buying items in the diamond shop. You can get diamonds by giving the developers of the game real $$ (which I'm sure they will appreciate).

The backpack tickets come in 2 versions. 7 days and 30 days. After that period of time, that backpack slot will be locked again, and I think the items in that slot will also be locked, but I am not sure.
There are also gashas in game, I think in the diamond shop. They have a chance to give you a permenant backpack ticket for backpack page 3.

That said, you can also get about 40 extra space in the bank. Go to you housekeeper and press "open bank slot" or something along the lines of that. You can also speak to a bank staff in several large cities (Central plaza in Varanas) to open your bank. The first page if for free, and you may put your items in there for as long as you like for free. The second to sixth page works the same as the backpack pages.

A lot of items in the game are actually worthless in the auction house. For equipment and weapons, i would only put in overdura items, and vendor the rest. The tier 1 runes you can get from mobs your level are really not very useful. They will not make you significantly stronger, and are worth almost nothing in the auction house. I would throw those away (or add them to your current equipment) and wait for higher tier runes from later zones.

I agree, the 30 item limit in the auction house is dumb, considering you can just make as many accounts as you want, with 8 characters each, just mail items to other characters to post the items.

If there was no limit to the auction house people would put whatever they want whenever they want causing it to just overflow. Of course you can just send it to alts and throw it on the AH with them, but most people would only do that with important stuff.

As far as backpack space, its been that way since beta. And why do you need more? You have a bank for more space, house items with more space, and you can rent bag space. If you are one of those people who just saves everything... dont. There is no reason in this game to hold on to link runes or power I runes or easy to obtain crafting scrolls. Sell everything you can at the merchant as often as you can. If you dont save everything you shouldnt really be running out of space.

Its supposed to mimic a real life situation, you have a backpack and you can only fit so many items. How many games you know that just allow infinite backpack and bank space?
House - 67/60/52 K/W/R
Silentbutdeadly - 67/62/60 R/S/P
Nerfy - 50/24 S/R
Dorlos - 61/40 P/K
Tremor - 55/55 W/K
Cottoneyejoe - 55/41 P/S

Note - These are all my characters worth a mention. I have many more.

Exactly! And with the terrible design of the auctionhouse database this makes limitation an utter requirement. I've often wondered if 30 is enough of a limitation. Maybe they should make it 10 so that it doesn't take 5 minutes to do certain searches. They'll have so few items on the auction, be it from the limitation or players not using it anymore, that it'll be lightning fast!

Although, I think the suggestion in one of the previous threads may have been better. Just make it so you have to pay a small diamond fee to post things in the auction house, 9 or 10 per item. That should reduce it a whole lot.

I'm always sorry when a player leaves our game, but making a forum announcement about it is...pointless.

Allowing more items in the AH will just make a current problem worse: The AH only returns so many items in a search. Its possible to put an item in the AH and not see it for a day or two.

As for back pack space - it isn't that bad. Especially if you buy diamonds. 720 diamonds will give you the additional backpack spaces for 3 months.

Bank space, its only 180 diamonds per page for 3 months.

I was in your spot Xenoma when i started to. In fact, 2.5 years later, I still can fill up all 6 pages full of junk.

As you play you will learn which items are worth AHing, and which ones are better off just selling to a vendor.
