Temple of Mysteries?

So I was messing around in Dragonfang Ridge for the first time yesterday and noticed the Temple of Mysteries (? think that was the name of it) on the map, went to check it out. It looks pretty cool and seems like it should be an instance, but I found no entrance nor any corresponding quests talking about it. I found a few vague random posts about it in the forums, but no one seems to know why its there?

Was wondering about this instance & found this thread... Anyone remember what was inside it before they deactivated the portal in 2008 or whatever? Or did no one have a high lvl character enough to go inside there? That is...unless everybody has a bugged client now & the portal got glitched & doesn't work anymore like it did in the past? lol

I asked one of my guildies about it who has been around since nearly beta and he said for a brief time there was a portal, but you couldn't go in it, therefore there was never actually an instance there. Abandoned project it seems.

So was the building at the end of Valley of Glory. And now it is not abandoned. :)

That's true, I hadn't thought of that. Maybe the Temple of Mysteries will get some love after all. I've always thought that place was awesome.

And what's with the barriers sitting plain as day in Varanas blocking the entrances to the Upper Districts (as I call them)? At least let us go there if not make quests/real NPCs in those places.
Ithiriz(Osha M/R/W 50/30/25), Saerimuus (Osha Wd/D 12/1), and some other Elf, Osha D/S 13/10, not to mention a few random characters on random servers that I made but that you probably won't ever see.

This is kind of an old thread.

Those barriers in Varanas lead to an instance and your guild castle. I can't remember which side goes with which but they have a use.

No, those barriers do not do that. They simply block access to the upper levels of Easy and West Varanas.

Exactly. Especially since there's ALREADY houses there, you just can't go there.
