Well how about instead of arguing with me over whether or not zones give enough, which they technically do if you include every single quest including every daily, how about we help this poor guy out instead of derailing his original topic?

Feel free to run the Mathematics as I have done. For zones of Chapters 1 and 2, they get you to their intended level with plenty of quests to spare. However, for chapter 3 and 4 zones, each zone leaves you lacking in XP & this is especially true of Land of Malevolence which claims it will bring you to 65 but only deposits you to around 63 and a half.

It can be done. My partner has done it. He was level 62 when the cap was raised, picked up his questline in the end of limo that took you into lom and he made it to lvl 67 with no issues.

As previously mentioned, the way to do it is to take your time & make sure to spend several days doing the quests along with dailies. If you burn through an entire zone in a day or two, you'll be short of XP.

Well, that is not the experience of the majority of players. I've always done a fair amount of questing on XP events so could not possible comment personally.

Though if you are suggesting that you have somehow got less XP for the same quests, that just isn't really possible.

Concretely what you need to is make sure you have done the lower level quests, the Epic questlines, all the hidden questss (you can check out the guide linked earlier in the thread), check you titles to see if you are missing quests, check the guides to the major questlines that are available on the EU forums. This should point out any XP you have missed.

But even with that most players find they are short of XP at various levels. Your friend is obviously very special.

there is enough for main class, long as u dont die too much and burn up quest xp on debt.

my experience, i didnt start doing dailies till i got to level 50. not a one. didnt know anything even about the phirius shop or why people did them. they seemed too boring just to do.

so i did all quests to get to 50. it wasnt until the steep curve to get to 55 became apparent that i started to do dailies. and even then i never finished a whole set of dailies. the xp is there, for one class to hit cap no problem. without ever stepping food in a instance in my opinion.

my class levels, wrd71, warr 62, scout 54/ previous to scout it was mage, 58. i did cheat once and go back to dragonfang and sacilla and did what seemed like 300 quests in those zone on my secondary. all quests i skipped on the first run through. there are some major quests that can easily be missed. if u dont get all the epic questlines, you will be short, if you focus just on the epic quest lines, you will be short. there are many many quests that branch off the epics that give comparable xp.

and when all else fails grind it out. i go into zombie mode and just run around in circles killing the same mobs over and over sometimes for hours just for xp and tp. not cause i have to.

dude you know how many people do 55-70 with no xp problems and they just burn it? and im not saying that i got less xp im saying that theres something wrong on why im missing 2 whole levels of xp and i got all my titles in those places and epic quest lines? i know people who barely did weeping coast and they just did dalanis quest and got perfectly fine 55-70 im talking about just dalanis, sjf, njf, limo, and LoM here no other place lots of people with no problem what so ever start on 55 in dalanis and they just go straight to 70 with no other maps.

Calculate the total XP for all the zones & also the 3 main quest lines for these zones for yourself on runesdatabase.com - and don't forget the Degenerate Elves epic questline either.
Look up the total XP required to level from 55 to 70 on theromwiki.com

You will see that the second is much higher than the first.

There are only 4 ways this XP deficit could have been filled by these people who got their 55-70 'perfectly fine':
  • XP orbs;
  • spreading their questing out over several days to allow for lots of sets of 10 dailies;
  • Bonus XP events
  • Progression via level caps.
(When you run out of quests, you just do dailies til you hit the cap and then wait til the cap rises.)

Now you can argue your point with me all you like - the numbers do not lie. The XP deficit you are experiencing is perfectly normal and I'm experiencing it myself as I level my alts through these zones.

As an example, let's just check out Morrok Wallinder's quest line through the Northern Janost Forest.

It's one of the major lines and so should have a decent amount of XP available on it.
NJF is designed to get you from 58 to 60 and I expected this chain to deliver a fairly decent chunk of the 31,094,000 xp required to get from 58 to 59.

However, the Morrok Wallinder portion of NJF gives a grand total of a little over 6 million xp.

Yes, there are side-quests and the Toni quest line along with the Degenerate Elves epic but the entire zone of quests will only give you enough xp to get halfway from 59 to 60 unless you slow down and take time to do 10 dailies each day and spread the zone over a week.

Let's take another example - Southern Janost Forest:
I started this zone on one character just after hitting 57 and managed to hit 58 on the very last quest hand-in for the zone. Sounds right, doesn't it? After all, it's a 57-58 zone so it filled it's intended purpose?

Nope - I did it on a Saturday afternoon during a double xp weekend. The whole zone only does half of what it's supposed to do.

To cut a very long story short:
From 55 onwards, take things slower & do lots of dailies.

Redhill Mountains is supposed to be for 65-67 but I foind if you take it slow & spread out your questing over a week or so (easily done when there's so many quests in the zone) you'll easily manage 63 to about 66 and a half. Just be careful of the mobs in there - they have about twice as much HP as mobs in LoM and hit much harder. Battlefield Phantom's in particular can 2-hit you if you're not careful with their 45% hit.

Tergothen Bay is very likely to get you to 70 due to the sheer number of quests there too - but take it slowly again and spread out your questing over a week, making sure to do dailies.
The mobs in Tergothen Bay are much harder though - with around 200k hp and they hit like a bus. Also, stock up on pots because they have DoTs & stuns that will make Sirloth cry like a baby...

Even if you don't quite get to 70, the new zone, Ancient Kingdom of Rorazan, has a nice & fast daily that you can spend a few days just doing the dailies and make up the shortfall.

Be careful when you go to quest there or you may miss a quest...

A lot of folks have missed it & are considering it a 'bug' because they didn't read their quest properly.

Whilst I don't consider it a bug if people cannot read their quests, I still think Runewaker should make it possible to accept this quest after you miss it.

Exactly - it's too easy to miss. Hence, why it should be changed.
