Aeternal Circle Last Boss - Da'dalodin

Boring stuffs:
Going into CH 5, I spoke with many friends on Reni, and all came into one agreement/goal that for the next instance, we would be the ones to clear first, and do it under multiple guild tags. The result of that was displayed last night with the last boss of AC Norm being down for the first time on Reni.

The group consisted of a pug of all my former/current guildies, mainly the ones I trusted and felt were the most capable. We came into a general consensus that since we already downed it first, we would do what ddavid of Bteam did for most of us in ToSH - teach people the strat. So, as promised here: http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=72216
Here it is:

Overview:
Da'dalodin is a gryphon/manticore-like boss that can't be burned down in the first few seconds (at not in the near future). There are 3 phases to this fight: Opening, Feather, and DPS phase.

Opening Phase:
This is when the countdown starts, and boss is going to be pulled. I recommend playing only instruments and maybe only popping -aggro buffs as he seems to fly up into the air at a fixed percentage, usually at the 85-90% mark. Save cooldowns for when he comes back down again. Basically, just tank and spank until he flies up for the first time.

Feather Phase:
This is where the majority of the fight rests on. Da'dalodin Flies up and becomes unattackle by normal skills. He has a 15 stack buff that needs to be brought to 0 before he comes back down on his own, or the party will gain a patk/matk and defense debuff that will stack for each fail attempt. Due to him flapping his wings, his feathers fall on the ground in the center of the room. Clicking on the feathers give you an ALT skill that you use to throw at him, which takes down his 15 stack buff counter by 1 for each feather thrown at him.

In short: the party needs to throw 15 feathers at him for the ~30 seconds or so that he is in the air, or they will have all their own stats reduced for the rest of the fight. Debuff on party stacks.

Also during this phase, 1 blue ice mob and several red fire mobs spawn in the middle of the boss room, at random spawn points. The red fire mobs are unattackable and basically are just there to do intermittent dmg to those near it. Nothing you can really do about these guys other than just heal through them. The blue ice mob, however, needs to be avoided and killed, as he will freeze everyone he comes in general contact with. The freeze itself can be cleanse by a Priest's Purify skill, or a Druid/Scout's Group Exorcism. Stuns/roots/CC's work on the blue mob.

DPS Phase:
When either 15 feathers have been successfully thrown at the boss, or he has stayed up in the air for the full ~30 seconds, the boss will come down, and attack the person with the most aggro. Generally this means the tank, but due to him going up into the air and the healers still healing during feather phase, they may have generated enough aggro to catch the bosses attention. Every dps phase he does a party-wide aoe that brings everyone down to about 20%, so try to time your heals in accordance with this, and dps may want to help out their healers by using a health potion.

This phase: Tank and spank, be ready for the party-wide aoe. Depending on your success at throwing 15 feathers at him each phase, he may or may not be hitting your tank for more and more. Save and rotate cooldowns for this phase, as you have 5 minutes from when the fight starts to down him, or he will enrage and wipe the party 1 by 1.

Conclusion:
Thats basically it for the boss fight. It is very heal intensive, so I recommend bringing 2 healers if you have the dps to make up for it. I never counted myself, but he flies up into the air about 5 times during the fight, not sure if its a fixed percentage or not. Any questions/comments/concerns/additional info can be left here, or whispered to me in-game.

Good luck on your attempts and thanks for reading.

Special thanks to individuals in XareinGuardians, Heretic, and ExiledDemonHorde of Reni for helping us clear the instance. They know who they are.

Any future Glacial Staff drops can be unbound and mailed to Ravesden of Reni for 1gold, kthx.

Good stuff, I was wandering what we do about the blue guy, I heard some one say it can be rooted, but not stunned or CC'd, but just anything? shadow prison, lasso, lightning, charged even?, I gotta try it out, but gotta be fast lol. I never noticed the feathers, I assume you cant have the mod folder in to see those i guess right?

Si. I know for a fact Shadowprison works. So it's all stuns/roots.

Lightning/sp work, never had a scout in there so never tested lasso, nor charging it, but I assume they should work, since its just a regular mob.

Bteam completed AC the day after it was released, not sure what day that was though lol. Grats on clear , that was a pretty hard fight to figure strat (mostly cause the run back is so long).
