medusa

I'm trying to solo this but get stuck when she stones chiron and can't break the stone off him. This causes me to be stoned and eventually death. I tried to pull first instead of him but she always goes to him. I also let her just go after him but i eventually I have to summon a new one and in the process of doing that I have to break stones. What is the best way to go about this.

If you can't solo DPS her before she stones, don't solo her? :p

Well, the overall rule is that if there is a boss that you can't take solo then don't. Medusa is one such that tends to cause problems. Razor Lurker is always a pain. Number 81 (second boss in DOD) used to be another for me.

Sure, there might be a way you can get lucky and either not get stoned or break it. But, it is not like HOTO is a must-have run these days. Besides aggs, there is nothing there anymore. People still wear HOS, and of course, ZS/DL gear. Hoto is meh.

Try frantic briar or potws(on boss when boss is close to chiron) to break the stone off the chiron. Otherwise, just summon another chiron.

Activate the HP bars in the interface options, then you can target the stone easier and destroy it with whatever you have at hand.

when a player/pet get stoned u cant break them out (u can however resummon pets), the main thing to keep in mind is that before the player/pet get turned into stone, there will be an attackable stone blinking on them (if u have enemy hp bars displayed u will be able to c it) and every1 including the person/pet its on can attack it, if u r successful in destroying it, player/pet will not get turned into stone. the blinking stone lasts 5 to 10 sec (not sure of the actual duration). this is also the main reason that ppl used to bring mages to do purg that way they wont have to look around to c who is turning into stone they just get destroyed easily.
