Quest Notes: Syrbal Pass

As promised, I'm posting a note sheet for select quests in Syrbal Pass. I've only included notes for quests that are vague/confusing/somewhat challenging. Please feel free to add to it; if you have a tip or coordinate please share. ❤

Forgotten Bag
Start to climb the ridge at a low point (63.6, 68.3) and then continue along the top of the ridge until you reach the Forgotten Bag (64.7, 64.7). Mounts can be helpful for climbing.

A Weeping Egnasia - Find out the truth of the weeping
Skeletal Remains at (58.5, 50.6)
"You can only complete this quest with having quest Lost in Fog active. Then you see a girl in fog before the skeletal remains. Speak with girl and quest completed.
However, if you handed in Lost in Fog first, you will never be able to do
A Weeping Egnasia. It's the same as Acceptance Brings Opportunity (Rorazan quest in Varanas)" -Credit to Aaralyna

Living Person, Dead Body - Help Ailin Coppernlo find Old Firemallet
Bethomia instance quest; this quest is currently broken (no NPC)
"Ask for some information about what happened to Old Firemallet. (Maybe somebody in the camp knows where he is.)" -Itempreview addon

Shargon's Treasure - Herb Notes
Pololo at (42.8, 43.3) in Gubod Village

Tumagi's Treasure - Memory Cane
Covered Traces at (40.4, 81.8)

Panilor's Armor - Head, Legs, Chest Armor
Climb a tree branch (44.4, 73.9) and jump down from it around (39.0, 77.8) to collect the leg piece on the roof of a building. You can also continue along the tree branches as there is an alternate leg piece not far away.
Jump down onto the main roof from a cliff (42.3, 74.7) to collect the helmet.
Continue across the roof to get the chest plate at (41.3, 69.2).

Persistent Problems - Give Will Kanches the Beautiful Bag
This is a hidden quest.
Activate the quest at the Beautiful Bag (14.0, 47.2) in Old Border of Wylant

It's Never Too Late - Help Lina Lukasz retrieve the Machine Structure Draft and the Fluctuation Stones that were stolen
Unknown Device is guarded by Zurhidon Researchers. There is more than one Unknown Device in Syrbal, but the NPC search will tell you that one of them is at (18.2, 58.8). You cannot search for the Researchers directly because they aren't in the system's map index.

Mysterious Power Source - Give Ailic's Researcher the Broken Remains of the Punisher
This is a hidden quest.
Kill Investigating Punisher mobs (about 18.5, 42.7) for the quest item drop, Broken Remains of the Punisher. Right-click the item to accept the quest.

A Guardian In Trouble - Find Patch-E and bring him to Ailic's Researcher
Scrunched Shrub (21.9, 34.5)
Turn in the quest by taking the remains of Patch-E to the Ailic Researcher (around 18.3, 35.9)

A Weeping Egnasia - Find out the truth of the weeping
06/04/2013: This quest is bugged at the moment.
Skeletal Remains at (58.5, 50.6)

I was able to complete this by clicking the little girl standing right next to skeletal remains. She is very hard to see and is very small but if you mouse over you will see her. It took me a few minutes to realize you need to click her first but once you do you can then click the skeletal remains.

This has been talked about a lot in my server's channels, but a lot of people have indicated that it's an instance quest (as noted that it is divided from other quests into the category "Bethomia"). I didn't investigate that very far myself, but everyone is in agreement that you won't find anything in the surrounding area. I can try double-checking today.

EDIT: Confirmed that it's an instance quest. Whether it's functional or bugged within the instance, I wasn't able to determine.

There's no little girl on my server. :( Checked all 3 channels... Hopefully a weekly maintenance will make her pop up again.

For the quest a Guardian In Trouble-Find Patch- E finding him was the easy part of this quest. The problem I'm having is when I click on the Scrunched Scrub I get notified in yellow text that Patch-E got squished by a Giant Guardian and a Crushed Patch-E ball of machine parts goes into my backpack the poor thing lol. At the moment I have about 10 of these in my bag. I've tried killing every single guardian in the area to see if that fixed it but...no go. What I'm not doing correctly is probably very obvious but I can't think of anything else to do. If you have any ideas I would appreciate it. TIA. Also, many thanks for posting these quests; fortunately this is the only quest I've had trouble with so far with the exception of the Weeping Egaisna as it is still glitched on Govinda.

Once you have the Crushed parts, there is a little camp not far that is blocked off by those large roots, talk to 1 of the NPC's in there and you will finish the quest.

Yes at 18.3, 35.9 there is the original quest giver: "Marchai Kappa" and 3 others hidden behind the guardian vines. I've done the other quest there so now it's a daily/eoj , but for some reason the quest giver isn't completing the quest. I've also tried clicking the crushed parts while targeting the quest giver and nothing. I did a world shout and was told by others that it's glitched? I will try dropping the quest and picking it up again and also changing channels. Thanks so much for trying to help me out.

I will add the information regarding the quest receiver to the notes. What Cammo said is exactly right, you just take the remains (I was so sad to find him squished, I almost shed a tear) to the Ailic Researcher behind the guardian vines. When you talk to him, you should get a new quest about finding repair parts. But seeing as a decent amount of the new quests bugged after the first 2 days, I wouldn't be surprised if that happened here as well. =/

Okay here's the deal with the above mentioned quest. You need to drop the quest and keep trying. I ran into another player who was having the same problem so we kept dropping it and finally it worked for both of us. So just a head's up on Govinda you may need to drop several times prior to completion. Additionally; get rid of all of the crushed parts if they don't disappear when you drop the quest as sometimes they did and other times they remained. The quest only works with one crushed part in your bag.

Picked up a quest called "Great Little Soldier" from Patch-E after you fix him. Confirmed I got it on my chat log, but the quest disappears when you accept it, it's not in the quest log. So that's a bug.

seem to be having a problem with "it's never to Late" The quest requires that you find 1machine structure draft and 5 fluctuation stones. The mob that it says drops them is Zurhidon Researcher. of which I can find none in zone

Do a search for an "NPC" called Unknown Device. If you go up to one of those machines you'll find the researchers. The first researcher that I killed dropped the draft and the 5 stones so you might only need to kill 1. :)

Quest Living Person, Dead Body

As of 6/10/13 at 6:00 am est. this quest is still not working Govinda server all three channels. As far as the quest A Weeping Enigma it's still glitched as well. One of my guildmates was able to accomplish this quest a couple of days ago. I've seen some posts regarding this quest informing us that there is a little girl right near the Skeletal Remains and is very difficult to see. However, I've tried everyday at different times on different channels and haven't had any luck. There is a period of time during the daytime that the area around the Skeletal Remains is a bit brighter and less gloomy but that didn't seem to help see the little girl; at least for me. I'm going to try one more time and if I have any luck I will report back. I've made a mistake regarding Living Person, Dead Body it is indeed an instance quest. I've been in the instance several times on easy mode and normal mode. Perhaps it can be accomplished on hard mode? I don't know.

[see post #19 for info on Weeping Egnasia]

The Living Person, Dead Body quest might require a patch to be fixed because that was broken from the start. I believe the instance quests are able to be completed on easy mode Bethomia, but there is no NPC or anything for completing this quest. On the other hand, since it's only an instance quest, you're not missing too much by not completing it. ^^;

That worked just fine today. The little guy (and, yes, you have to make sure you get only one remains, they should've marked it unique item) gets restored with 4 different repair objects, all obtainable.

Is little Patch-E a nod to Wall-E? Hmmm....

Update to quest A Weeping Egnasia thanks to Aaralyna.

"You can only complete this quest with having quest Lost in Fog active. Then you see a girl in fog before the skeletal remains. Speak with girl and quest completed.
However, if you handed in Lost in Fog first, you will never ever be able to do A Weeping Egnasia. The same as Acceptance Brings Opportunity (Varanas but Rorazan title)"

I guess it is bad. Almost all quests in this game can be completed in any order. When a specific order is needed they usually keep the subsequent quests locked so you must follow the line to unlock them. If playing the zone for the first time I guess it should not be expected to know that one particular quest must be completed before any other. In this way, I guess it is a bug. I will never complete half a dozen quests in AV because they allowed me to do a quest that ends with the death of the npc who starts the chain.
