Late Fixes Hurt more than Help!

So I was wondering today if fixing something 2 months later actually helps the player or hurts them. The newest point being the lvl 80 instance. At least on Indigo there are only 1 or 2 guilds that can raid endgame content. So if we raid the crap out of the newest instance and get all the gear we need and then they fix it 2 months later it puts other guilds further behind and gives us an unfair advantage. Same thing happened with the Targ and Hippo proof fixes. Some players got insane proofs that they are coasting on still while others that were building wardens to use - and got left in the dust after the fix. I guess my point is, on something "game changing" fixes should be made quickly or not at all just to level the playing field. The way it seems right now is those in position to take advantage of a broken system gain all the rewards while those 2 months later get screwed. I would like to see other guilds on my server grow and better the server but by the time we get our guild geared and other guilds just begin to start getting lvl 80 gear/weapons it gets patched.

Well, I definitely think fixing something is the right thing to do, even if late.

In the case of Bethomia being "too easy" now, well that's horrible for those who were doing KBNh, and ToSH hard before that. But it's great for the more casual crew who hadn't quite stretched that far. Could be designers just decided to build for a different segment of the population this time instead of a simple mistake. (Not saying that's necessarily good overall, but could be a reasoned decision.)

As for Targonharl and Hippo fixes taking away an advantage some folks were able to use, well that's exploiters. Correct response would have been to ban/strip rewards from those who used it (definitely Targonharl - Hippo at least it took a group and couldn't repeat immediately, so maybe more lenient there). But that would require RoM to have active human staff. Not happening. Just have to accept that RoM is a poor game in that regard. Enjoy it for its good points, or leave if you can't handle the bad points. Those are the choices really.
