Changes to SW this last patch - FoT's 30 sec buff

I don't like this:

Adjustments to Guild Siege item Face of Treachery
  • Players now receive a buff that lasts for 30 seconds – Balance Perception to prevent them from being affected by Treacherous Prohibition after they cast Face of Treachery. This prevents them from being constantly affected by Knockdown caused by Face of Treachery.

Well, I like the idea...but not in 30 seconds, should be more like 10.

It takes 10 seconds to capture a tower, does it not? It definitely doesn't take 30. FoT's were a great way to prevent people from just waltzing up and capturing a tower, especially if they were placed strategically. Now, a couple of players can walk up...one can take the guards away with a bunch of FoT's around the tower...not be affected by them while the other player just walks up to a tower and takes it without being hindered by the FoT. This is not cool. If you were to do this, then all the other defenses should have gotten a huge buff, or at least had their range bumped up. As it stands, Scouts can sit just outside of the range of everything and snipe the hell out of it.

I agree 100%. Out of all the half way attempts to fix something, this has to be the king. So people were complaining about getting stuck in treaches and now well make them useless. Yay for us! If you walk into 4-5 treaches your rear should be parked, not slowed. The sad part is Im a r/k so treaches didnt bother me that much anyway, but I sure know how their supposed to work.

Out of curiosity... I saw dozens of complaints about it in the thread discussing the patch, now I see a separate thread on the topic. But, has anyone experiences it actually working that way?

The notes are written in pretty confusing Engrish so working of the change is unclear; and the last two SW for my current guild didn't last long enough for anyone to put up a field of treacheries.

Yes, I can attest to this, both on the giving end and receiving.

I was plugged into our A tower last night and laid down about 5-6 FoTs. An emeny came up to the FoT's, got knocked down once and then was never hindered by the FoT's again until they killed them all and captured the tower.

Later, when I was attempting to recapture our B tower, our enemy had laid some FoT's around it. I got knocked down and when I got back up, I wasn't knocked down again until I just walked right up and started to capture the tower.

I mean...I can understand the pain of being surrounded by FoT's and not being able to get up...but 30 seconds is too extreme for this 'buff' (which doesn't even show up as a buff, I don't think). SW happens a lot faster than 30 seconds.

When I first saw the patch note, I was pretty ticked. Truth be told, though, it hasn't really affected siege nearly as much as I thought it would. I don't get perma treached anymore... and if a tower is well guarded, it only takes one treach for me to get taken out anyway.

As far as taking the tower goes, I tried doing that with the anti-treach-buff active and I STILL got interrupted. I didn't get knocked down, but the treaches around the tower still stopped me from gathering the tower. And yes, I was sure there were no other players, offensive towers, or tower guards nearby. Just me and the treaches.

So while I'm still not in love with the idea of a 30 second anti-treach buff in theory, in practice it really hasn't changed siege warfare, at least not for my guild. Then again, we're in the 1k - 2k point range, which I understand is a completely different siege experience from the 3k+ crowd :)

someone should have told whoever qqed about being perma stunned that all they had to do is exit and reenter siege, yea u come back with injury, but same thing when dcs happen, fix that RW. lol

I haven't played in a while but this sounds like a good fix. It was silly to see fields of treacheries with the expectation any non-range would be unable to participate. I'm going to guess mounted players are still affected by treacheries, that should go away as well.

I'm happy you enjoyed your treachery spam but I didn't. Go buy other siege items and use them (I know it's an epic fail idea.. other items).

30 seconds sounds fine. You're not a rogue spamming an energy gouging stun skill; so no, you don't get to spam stun and kill people.

I didn't like it I'm in the 11-1200 range too but that just made flame towers that much better!! might as well oil bomb the area in an attempt to perma fear people. lol
