So I am new and have a question about PvP

I was reading around and was wondering about the PvP and dropping items? Does this mean if you go into PvP and die you loose your gear?:D

as long as ur rep is neutral or white you dont drop anymore. used to be gankfest. now if ur rep is -/+ 30 i believe, u have chance to drop.
