New PVP RED/EVIL playstyle?

Hey guys, new to pvp, I just saw the huge disadvantage to killing people randomly and stealing their hard-earned stuff on pvp servers which is a huge disappointment as me and my friend just started pvp and were hoping to run around, kill, and steal. Well I saw the pvp rules on the main site, and I just thought of a new idea.

I see that it says it requires 6 kills to get a red name, so what if you killed 2~4 neutrals, stole their stuff, then find a couple of reds to kill and get your rep back up to neutral so you never turn red? Does anyone do this or know if it would work? Please reply, I really wanted to be evil with my friends in ROM PVP but i dont want to get 1 hit killed by random guards in every square km in the game.

Neutral status doesn't drop gear. Killing whites does not allow you to steal their stuff. But, you can go red, and others can gank you, and you can drop stuff! That's still fun right? I mean, someone is still loosing their gear in the process... that's what you were after wasn't it?

Ideas like this one are the reason the PVP servers are leaking players like a sieve.

Well, I guess i dont really care about the item part, it would be fun to kill people randomly just to annoy them. If the items dropped, i would of just made a little bit of extra money. I'm on grimdal. So i guess this idea still works for the evil people that don't want to be pwned by guards on sight.

Yeah i noticed, in fact, i don't see much active players at all on grimdal. Me and my friend were zone shouting and we managed to find a whopping population of 1 other person on the server. I guess we're just gonna have to find some afk idlers to kill.

And my ingame character name is cheezstik, pk me all you like :).

It's nice to see someone again who wants to pk just for the sake of pk'ing. Unfortunately its not like it used to be back in ch1/2 days, where you could get groups of people going after you and arguing with you in zone. Those were the days...

You can still pvp like this but you have to be smart about it. Lots of items in game don't drop, that's why pkers still exist.

Things to look at:
stating items
costume gear (item shop and event drops)
equipment sealing/unsealing (limit 8 worn at any given time)

Though, if you're looking for pvp you can enjoy, this is restricted to low level battlegrounds. You'll run into twinked players and have all out wars with other people in a fairly even match up. It's pretty fun before people lose all interest to pay-to-win imbalancing.

But, in world pvp, you'll always be at a disadvantage as a random murderer so that's something you'll have to live with if that's your choice of gameplay.

And there aren't "random guards" wandering around randomly within every square KM of the game.

Personaly I find this suggestion to be not only appaling but down right idiotic. PvP is a noobs way to try and flex their e-peens. Showing off by killing another player is not cool. Doing this can and will get you a reputation that can prevent you from ever getting into any good guild.
If you insist to constantly kill other players maybe they should implement a town lockout on you. Once you have killed so many players you will not be able to enter any town for 24 hours. And set the number of players to trigger the lockout to be randomly generated after each lockout. That way you will never know when you have been locked out of the towns.

Wow, i wondered why grimdal was a dead server and now you have just told me. You get locked out of towns when you kill enough players? If they frown upon pking so much then why don't they just remove pk? Pvp is for noobs now is it? What and sitting safely in the towns doing all the boring, long, repetitive quests isn't?

Well, bye bye game with a messed up open pvp system, hello long wait for TERA. Hopefully they'll fix this stupid one sided open pvp and then I'll come back. And it would be sort of ok if that was the only problem in this game, but it's not. There are no where near enough quests, and most of them give an insufficient amount of exp and they are boring and repetitive to start with anyway. And grinding gives even worse exp and its even more boring. To add to that, here's a major problem. My friend payed $25 straight from his credit card to buy some diamonds, and they didn't come to him. Is that stealing? Or just a bad system, you guys tell me. Bye.

The number is 3 I think. It's been a while so I don't remember.

Rep goes down pretty fast and takes a long time to come back up. That's how it has always been.

As for grimdal's dieing... yea, they didn't improve pvp and they took away the pking from the server. All of us that had scrupulously adapted had everything we invested in costume gear and seals put to waste with no compensation. When they implemented the changes we were behind in both player numbers and gear. Now we don't even have people logging enough to run dungeons, lol.

As far as Tera is concerned do not expect much from it. I have played ont eh alpha and closed beta servers and their PvP syustem is a lot worse than it could ever be here.
I can name 4 games that have no open PvP and they are doing great. The only PvP they ahve is pretty much called guild wars.
Yes I called people who PvP noobs, mainly because the vast MAJORITY of them are jsut that. Little teenaged turds attempting to show their so called superiority by killing another person who most likely was minding their own business. I do not completely dislike PvP but open PvP has no reason to even be allowed.
As far as a server dying the main reason servers die is that noone wants to be constantly HARRASED by some scumbag out to flex their so called "E-Peen". When teh word gets out that everyone is fair game what do you think will ahppen? No new players want to join a server where they cannot even do a simple quest without getting ganked by an idiot.
I ahve no idea where you are questing at but it only took me 3 weeks of playing to get from lvl 1 to the original lvl 50 cap JUST DOING QUESTS. Yes grinding is a pain but if you are careful and do not let the mobs gett eh better of you it can be done. When the lvl was again raised to lvl 60 it only took me less than a week to hit it. And again when they recently raised it to lvl 70 less than a week. All my leveling is done through QUESTING. I have only ahd to grind maybe 2 or 3 bars of exp to hit a lvl where the new quests were available.
As far as credit cards go they ahve a rather painful system. First you will not get your diamonds immediately like with the RoM cards, Zeevex, or by using paypal. With a credit card their is a waiting period and sometimes they will send you an E-Mail confirming that you were the one that wanted the diamonds. Your friend should have sent in a ticket and checked his CC statement to see if he was actualy charged. Some Credit Card companies will not allow you to purchase virtual currency at all.
You leaving the game is not worrisome it just opens the world to someone who can appreciate it.
Several posters here told the reason for Grimdal dying. They admited to camping new players. Doing this creates a hostile environment for new players and in turn drives them away froim what could have been a good game.

That's more than a little harsh, Mega.

There's a reason why people activate the duel system all the time on the PVE servers. The goal is not just to prove you are superior, but to see how well you stack up against your friends and enemies. Is that new piece you just statted going to give you an advantage over someone who is similarly geared or statted, depending on how you chose to stat and rune it? Maybe you're dueling them because they asked you to. Or simply because you're bored and so is the other guy.

See, PVP has its advantages. Sure, it can be abused (constant ganking and the like).

That process is normally stopped by getting into a guild who has peeps that can protect you while you level up. Their ROI comes a bit later, but it is still there. There are always going to be people looking for an epic duel against the guy on the other end. Those are the really fun fights- the ones where players look equally matched until one does something that decides the matchup.

PVP absolutely has a place in this game. Open pvp does as well. People who sign into open PVP servers know what they're getting into before they start a toon there. It's why most spend the first fifteen levels trying to assess a good guild and make friends.

Killing people to show superiority? What so you think noone kills people because its fun? You've obviously never played a game that takes skill to win instead of time like most mmorpgs. So not fighting people for the fun of it and instead staying within the border of safe zones and safely doing boring repetitive quests is what seperates you from these so called "noobs" that actually go out to the non-safe zones and have fun and pk. Hmm. And open PVP has no reason to even be allowed? Lol you boring person, I think a 3d facebook mmorpg would be more suitable for someone like you.

Now to the questing, yes you may of reached lvl cap with 3 weeks of time but who wants to do the same boring repetitive quests for 3 weeks? That may be ok for you but it sure isn't for me. And me leaving the game making it worrisome would be pretty flattering but i didn't really expect it.

Oh yeah, last thing, I was gonna say this first since you said the thing it's replying to first but I thought it would look better under all that stuff I just said. You think TERA's pvp system is bad because it is an ACTION-PVP-BASED-GAME with 100+ vs 100+ man pvp that actually takes a bit of skill to play and even if you stay in the safe zones all day you still have a pretty fat chance of losing. If you said open pvp doesn't even have a reason to be allowed then of course an ACTION-PVP-BASED-GAME with 100+ vs 100+ man pvp game wouldn't be suitable for a person like you.

Get ganked in real life? Are you stupid? This isn't real life and stop comparing it to real life because it's not meant to be realistic, who plays a game to stay in real life? I know that when I play a game, I don't wanna stay in real life, I want to play a game. And this game isn't even realistic and it's not meant to be anyway so stop comparing it to real life.

What are you gonna say next? You shouldn't shoot people in call of duty because it's not fun to be shot in real life?

the comparison to real life is that people spend real life money on the gear that u are wishing to gank from them. its theft. get it? and lets not resort to kindergarten name calling junior.

I mean think about, u spent all summer mowing grass and got u a fancy new something, and the neighborhood bully comes along, knocks u down , u drop ur new toy and he picks it up and runs off with it.

same concept. why it took frogster so long to remove such a vile negative feature of the game ill never know.
