You want to know how it isn't connection? When you have 3 accounts in siege under the same roof and 2 out of 3 accounts do not get lagged during the normal 20 minute mark. Yet last night all 3 accounts were affected by the 20 minute mark lag.

I'll say it again, fire your sysadmin and get a new one. I'll even offer consulting at $600 an hour, your diamonds aren't worth my time anymore.

Ok, so it's 11:09 eastern, and I am still standing in sw.

No, really. A lot of us are.

Realllly weird stuff tonight. We got more lag free minutes in the beginning and then the lag hit us like a truck at the 20 minute mark.

Usual amount of lag-free vs. lag-helled people. Until at about the 50 minute mark when the siege came to a screeching halt to all the lag-free people. Like, they were frozen. Someone was feared off a cliff when it hit, and he fell and fell for like 6 minutes and gave up and logged out. People just stood there. The opposition just stood there also (at least as far as anyone could tell).

When we froze we were at 7-3, our favor (cause we had more in than EE did, so had more unlagged). I am still standing in siege, and my guildies report that our battle isn't even showing on the battle screen, like it never happened.

Ok, update... I am still standing in siege and it's 11:45 pm eastern, 48 mins past sw ending time. O.O

Siege ended 48 minutes ago well should have I was stuck in siege till just now when I relogged for last 40 min of siege I saw no towers could cast no spells the one thing that I considered fun in RoM that being siege is no longer fun at all. To me this is a sad night cause I sit here now out of game trying to figure out what game to play next. :( This could be such a awesome game if only they fix things.

Seige reg is messed up.

Some in guild still see unfinished battle in Balltes screen, some have a blank screen, some have it look like guilds have regged.

Our GL says it will not acknowledge him trying to reg.

GL now has blank reg screen with Zero regged. I show zero regged.

I log his account and show 119 regged, but am told Reg is closed when I try to reg.

oh yeah... that's another one. our guild leader was lagging but his wife in the same building didn't lag for one of the sieges. WTF is that?

agreed. even with the previous "partially busted" siege war with crashing, etc. I had lots and lots of fun and just dealt with the headaches. at this point, most of my guild is looking for new games. I only wish I knew which one people keep saying they're going to that they can't mention because of Frogster martial law.

Can the player community get an update????

What, if anything, is being down to fix siege? Has the root cause been indentified? Is there any testing going on? Are there some user tests that players can do that might help find the issue? How long should we wait before we throw in the towel?

imo, this is the straw that's going to break the camel's back. It would be better to take siege out and let owenstein play with it that leave it the way it is now. It's just demoralizing to keep getting your hopes up that this is the time its going to be good and then watch it slowly get worse and worse before your eyes. We are signed up tomorrow but I hesitiate to go risk an hour of my life to get booted out again with a few minutes remaining and no rewards. I dont want to listen to people complain over vent or read guild chat about how people are quitting. Siege for a lot of people is the best part of the game and we would like some feedback that it's going to get better.

So I ask again, please please tell us what is going on.

something happened with the maintenance last night, cause today I wasn't lagging, but the people who weren't lagging last week were today, and those that were lagging last week seem to be doing fine today. It's like a complete reversal. I felt bad cause I saw the other team getting locked down as well... but then I ran into this priest, who I guess had been spamming urgent heal for the last 5 minutes in his stationary position, and for the life of us, 10 people on him couldn't kill him cause those heals were just catching up with him. Interrupts did nothing since the "casts" were cast before the interrupt was registered and well... you get the picture. I debate on how to explain to my guild that perhaps we might go another week without siege again because of issues with it.

I do recall a gm mention some months ago that the info that he got si siege wont be fixed anytime soon. Whether there plans have changed since then i dont know. but most of us have come to the fact that siege will remain the same for at best another year. I so wish i could help my guildies out, however waking up 5am in the morning to lag 5mins behind and get 1 shot before you even see anyone on your screen is not what i call entertaining.

I think I've worked out what the delay is..

I'm now quite sure the same guy that is diligently working towards restoring my lost chests is also diligently working towards fixing siege but of cause he will need us all to prove we are actually lagging & not just opertunistically trying to get less lag for nothing.

Since the EU & US siege servers are now identical & the EU server does not have the lag problem it is obvious that the problem at the US server is either hardware failure or incompetent configuration. Runewacker has no need to code a fix.

This is really getting tiresome, sieged tonight with only 3 players and still lag, the other guild didnt even show up..... Can someone from Frogster please give us something???? More and more ppl are quiting and I only play this game because of seige, if this goes on I will have to look else where which I really dont want to do.

On Reni there has been a rash of Guilds refusing to sign up for Siege. Mainly due to several things.
First the lag and dcons. Both have become so bad that its hard to even think about winning. Second the number of obvious hackers. I ahve frappsed several players from different servers FLYING, Running faster than possible, and even low level players one shotting players much higher than them (to the tune of 15+ levels higher).

As far as the running goes some will say that with buffs and pots someone can run faster than a mount. While that may be true I know for a fact that it is near impossible for one person to get killed on one side of the map then res at their res point, and then 5 seconds later be right back where they died attempting to take the same tower they died at less than 10 seconds before. Things like this cannot be chalked up to glitches or exploits. I witnessed a mage do this 5 times in one siege war until the guild i was in posted 5 players at that tower to take him out as soon as he appeared. Even with 5 players and dozens of traps that mage still managed to get to the tower and start taking it before he was killed.
I said in another post and I will say it again: A GM needs to to be available to witness Siege randomly to catch cheaters. With no more US GM's though that will be ahrd to do and the cheaters know it.

The guild I am in is no longer signing up for siege, we have lost to many times simply because of the lag rendering siege unplayable.

Mega I agree, it would be very good to have a GM attend random sieges. Not only to find the cheats but also to put paid to abuse & groundless accusations.

I am not directing this at you personally, I just would like to say that with a 30% mount speed pot, a galoping gale & a fast computer I can get back to a tower very quickly.

I play a mage & very recently I was the mage in a situation very similar to the one you describe. I was abused & called a cheat. The sole grounds for the abuse appeared to be the fact that I could kill them faster than they could kill me & when they did kill me I could get back faster than they could.

so you mean it'll be another 4 months before he fixes that problem and then another 6 or 7 months for him to get around to siege lag problems? cool. I think I'm going to use the frogster excuse at work tomorrow, "these items are on sale for the month of February? okay, I'll put the signs up in August. okay?!"

My solution for FEU: Re-hire the person you fired who used to know how everything was run... Let him/her work on it again, but this time with one of your staff paying attention. Then, if you want to fire them, go ahead... If they were dumb enough to join up again, instead of insisting on coming back as a consultant at 10x their original wage, you've won!
