It seems as though the 3 minute difference between the game servers and the siege servers caused data to be refused by one end of the communication and then people hammering skills, towers, etc. while those were piling up in a queue made things get completely cluster fukked.

Quoted from "Abazor;503731"

Our guild has decided that we will not register for siege until we hear that siege is no longer broken.

Guild siege is highlight of the day. I surely hope this gets fixed soon.

This is a fantastic game when it isn't broken. :(

So if the lag issues of the last couple of days seem to get fixed, please post here to let us know.

Thank you

same here. it's not at all worth it.

i must agree, it was pretty unplayable. Last night i had 5 min of ping by the end of siege. Now mind you, this was on a computer that was running 3 clients for siege (yes it has that much computing power to do it without an issue) 2 were lagged, 1 was not. SO it is not computer specs, internet speed or any other cop out Frogster may give for it.

The FUNNY part, came after siege. SO i restart my computer and get ready to do my mini games.... wait i cant log in? Ok, says internet connection issues, OK i cant get to google. However mine and my gfs laptop (one wired, one wireless, behind the same firewall, etc) are working fine and have internet conn. (by this point if you havent realized that i tech troubleshoot for a living and have above average computer knowledge, you soon will). I DMZ port my main computer to eliminate firewall issues, reset renew ip addresses... hrm still no go. Ok so i booted the computer in a different operating system, 32 bit when the first was 64 bit, it is also running off a normal drive as opposed to the first ones solid state drive and try to access the internet ... hrm no go. I check my CELL PHONE, wow i cant connect to the internet wirelessly. WOW.

If you didnt want to read that here is the synopsis: it acted like i was hit with a Denial of Service attack from the siege server. Which an hour later cleared itself up without a computer/router/etc reboot. This is completely unacceptable and it is acting like we are being attacked by a virus since the game itself doesnt even recognize that you have lag since ping reports normal even on the lagging client.

THe game has been kicking people out all day. I would be sad to hear that they kept the good infrastructure/servers/internet connections for the Tera Game and moved ours to a worse location with worse hardware since it is not the new one. however, this is probably the case.

Merged 5 threads on the same topic together. Please keep the banter to 1 thread, as understandable as the banter may be. I will delete posts as I feel necessary. As a player experiencing the same problems, I won't go to hard on you guys unless it gets out of hand.

Thank you.

Recent Siege War lag

As of Jan. 20th 2012, siege war has shown an incredible increase in he amount of lag there has been. If world chat shouts are anything to go by, people cast skills and three minutes later they take effect. However, I cannot say this is true, as I crashed halfway through, and every time I tried to enter the battleground, I crashed again. My ping was so high during my time outside siege, it was ridiculous. The entire server was slowed to a crawl. See my signature for a screenshot :(

However, I would simply like to ask two things: what did FA do now, and why did they think this was a good idea?

Quoted from "Droodetoo;503723"

I was considering dropping some money on diamonds this weekend, with the 120% sale and decent enough runes available in the cash shop. However, the worst RoM experience I have ever had in Siege Wars soon remedied that thought.

Frogster, I don't care if you just moved servers. I don't want to hear any excuses. You should have tested the crap out of the new servers prior to making the switch. You should have pushed their limits to the max in your testing, straining them the same way a full siege roster with every guild having the max 50 players would. Because you have to assume they will get that much stress or could possibly be under that much stress. But there is no way you tested those siege servers. Any argument otherwise is a complete and utter falsehood.

So, I encourage everyone to let their wallets do the talking and let Frogster know that this issue needs fixed right now.

While I'm as annoyed as anyone cause second night straight I can't do anything after 20 min, I have to say it's very hard to test a physical move of the servers until AFTER IT'S HAPPENED! They didn't just move the data as far as I know, they actually moved the physical servers, that's why servers were down for so long. Not defending froggy, they definitely should have fixed this by now, but people come on, saying that they should have tested this move is physically impossible.

SW Lagfest - Reni

Another fun night of lag and losing to a guild that was an easy win for us. Please look into this issue. We were doing fine until about 30 minutes into then lag became so dramatic that none of us could move or even do simple things like trade, mount or dismount, or even leave through a gate.

We are hoping that this problem will be fixed soon, but we dont hold out that much hope on it.

attached a screenshot some of what we experienced i was in the sw party two times due to invites spam from coi also was farming merits but this merit farming was actually a continuation of me starting to farm at a tower not knin i have other screenshots of me standing where i am now but theres NOTHING there at all. Also as you can see only two versus 17 which actually was 26 at one point but due to crit errors numbers of people in sw was a mess ... look at the merits collected and they score yet we still had our processors and had plenty of merits couldnt do a damn thing with them. FIX IT!

So, tonight we had a replay of last night's lag hell. Just like everyone else, it sounds like. I started out OK, went about the first 15 minutes no lag, and then hit about a 6 minute lag wall.

A few of us didn't lag and a few of them didn't either. The battle pretty much came down to the few unlagged people duking it out amongst themselves. Somehow we managed to pull off a last minute win, which was really entertaining as I saw them taking the towers long after I had left siege. I was just standing in TB watching the "So and so is attacking Knin" and "So and so has occupied Knin" messages float across the screen.

I think we hit a record on crystals there at the end. We had almost 20k crystals and 3 intact pfactorys. No one was unlagged enough to actually farm or spend any merits.

We all were howling with laughter- it was a laugh or cry moment, and laughing is always better. That said, it needs to be fixed ASAP. Otherwise, people will stop laughing and start raging worse than they are now.

To Demonlord: ummm, no clue what happened there. Wish we coulda sieged you for real. I know Tooeasyy was stuck in the same lag hell I was, cause people managed to kill him. Looking forward to a lag-free rematch soon.

The problem is that not everyone is having this problem that people are complaining of. I for one have never been happier with the performance of the game. My ping has been reduced by half, no exaggeration. Siege war runs smoother than ever. How did they fix things for me and yet break it for other people? Hell my computer is not even a high-end rig, so that is not the traditional answer to this disparity in performance. Solving this mystery will make a huge improvement in the morale of the players. I play on govinda, love the addition of new channels :D

This is so lame, how the hell can I even play this game when my ping goes up to 3mil? Before the server change I would get a max ping of 47..... Looks like I will have to quit and try and find a better game....

Yesterdays siege lag did not affect me.

Today it did, I used a clock to time the lag in the 2nd half of siege. I used a buff & it was 9 minutes & 40 seconds before the buff was applied.

My ping remained normal (+ 100 ms since the move to the new data centre) but I was lagged by almost 10 minutes.

It's very unfortunate to hear that yesterday/today caused problems as well. I would just like to let you know that we are still both monitoring the situation, but are also looking for solutions. As of yet, we have not found the reason of this issue yet. We do could use a bit of your help to find the issue.

During these extreme lag and disconnect periods, how does the normal arena function? (1vs1, 3vs3, 6vs6)
Is everyone in your Guild affected or just several players?
- If it does not affect everyone, are specific locations in the US affected?

Does it cause any other serverproblems?

We will most likely not fix this problem during the weekend, as we need more time to monitor the situation and find the cause of this problem. There is even a high probability, that the issue requires a downtime to be fixed. We will keep you updated if we find the problem. In the meantime, please keep us updated how the Siege War goes tonight.

Thank you for being honest, Roeksha. Although SW mishaps like this are tending to happen more frequently, at least someone finally answers.

From talking with a few of my guildmates, I've noticed that the problem seems to occur always when on the west coast (anyone can correct me if Im wrong), yet, some guildies of mine who live on the east coast, are RL friends, and live near each other lexperience siege just fine. An ex guildie I spoke with earlier said that their guild lags as well, but SW was normal for her. She also lives on the East coast.

Hope that helps any.

To be honest, I haven't suffered any problems in siege since the patch. Nothing is broken, I don't lag or d/c. The same cannot be said for ALL my guildies, but a number of them don't have any issues either. I don't think this exactly is a server issue as it is more of either a location issue, or a client-to-server issue.

BTW, I live in Texas

Some lag in our guild, some dont. If you disconnect when lag starts, you cant get back in siege, You go invisible, and then nothing happens, have to relog. It doesnt start for any of us until 15+ minutes into siege, and then its pretty much unplayable.

before the change of sever my ping is usually around 40-62. it is now since the "upgrade" staying at 218ping not big deal

but earlier today on guild run the ping when crazy high up to 7k + enabling me to play at all.. it wasn't like that before

i don't live in the states i am from overseas (hongkong) i have a fairly decent computer with a proper broadband

connection (100mb). if this continues i don't think i am able to run any instances.. i hope there is something that would

solve this problem.

.

My wife and I are in the Chicago area. We had no SW lag that we could see and the game has been running better than ever.

Most in our guild had horrible SW issues since the move. They are mostly on the West Coast and in Texas.

Guild chat seemed to work fine with no delays.

One person laying there waiting for the res to respond could see me run up just fine and chat real time.

It seems that it's the feedback to the client from the server that is getting delayed. EXAMPLE - (We were talking in Team Speak during SW) When trying to trade merits, the other person would click trade and 30 sec later it would open on my screen. Another min later it would open on his. He'd attempt to slide merits in trade window and see nothing on his end. About 20 sec later they would appear on my screen in trade window. I started clicking trade and told him to do so as well. He did but the merits were still in his pack but not in the trade window. The trade window closed on my screen and the merits were in my pack. It took about 3 min after that before he saw them move to trade window and the window close. Meanwhile I went on my way using the merits.

Live in Indiana & lot of guildmates on East Coast

I don't think this is just a West Coast issue with SW as I live in Central Indiana along with some of my other guildies and a few of them are in the DC area and up and down the East Coast and we had issues that last tow nites in SW. It was running fine for about hte first 20 min and then lag real bad. i was in the main castle room trying to get to the crystal to put up flame towers and I ran and could get to the ramp to go up and i would go back to the gate. I did this for 30 min and only got to the crystal once. I even made it out to A tower (or were A tower should have been) and then was back inside the main gate. I
could not do anything and most of my other guild mates could not either. Most of the time the towers were not there or you would just run around and go back to the same place.

Just wanted to post what my (our guild) experiences have been in SW that past two nites and interestingly enough it has not affected the guilds we are playing against (or not as much anyway) since they were still able to take our towers and kill us.

Thanks for reading.
