Don't worry the next patch/event/content update will more than likely screw things up again. :o It's what happens when a company/s don't invest in proper beta servers to thoroughly test material.

Siege War once again went well for this guild, 1 crash but otherwise no complaints. But......you gotta change the time back before it's truly what it once was! GO!

Not sure how seige went, but from what our guildies said it was smooth, no crashes, keep up the good work, althoguh we lost to brotherhood, but we were busy :P

Tomorrow during the maintenance our IT will make the final adjustments to Siege War, this will also include a timeadjustment. The time will be corrected to what it was, which seemed the most suitable for both the West and East Coast.

Many guilds in the these parts were set up to run at what was the maximum number FA had siege at. Fifty players per side is that number. Will we be set back to that number? It seems to be 36 per side now, we have players that will sit out because of this change.

Next if that is the now official number will siege also go to the 200 team limit Europe has for sign up? Teams right now are getting left out as siege fills instantly.

Will the amount of players allowed into siege be increased again? Considering guilds are allowed to recruit upto 220 people the reduced number of 36 is already starting to cause us to have to impose rules on who is allowed in and who isnt which is incredibly unfair on those who are left out i feel.

We had a flawless siege last night and its great to have it back working again so thanks to everyone on your end who helped make that happen.

The maximum amount of players per Guild in Siege War was never supposed to be higher as 36. I don't know why it was higher at the US servers in the first place, so no - we don't have any intention to increase this cap. I understand that several Guilds have a lot more active players then this, but it's mainly due to technical reasons that we have this cap.

soo the max players per guild will stay at 36 forever then,

that is a let down in my point of view, cause whats the point to level up the guild to get more people into the guild, but only 36 players are allowed to siege, there are alot of guilds that do have more then 36 people active for siege,

guess guilds will have to start restricting which players get to siege, this will be a problem

zzzz its a buzz kill, siege seems to be working for now, but everyone wont get to siege , almost like the problem is not fix yet,
hopefully you guys can do some changes, since before the server relocation the max number was 50, i dont mind if you guys do some testing to let that happen again, and miss a few more days of siege.


on the bright side, siege seems to work with the normal lag and los issues as before, just some people will have to sit out in those bigger guilds and loose honor points which we try so hard to get.

Thanks Roeksha and the rest of the team for finally getting Siege War fixed! Although it seemed to take forever, I know many of us appreciate that it has been reportedly mended. Also, a big thanks for letting us know that the start time for siege will be moving back to 10PM EST - this is great news for us East Coasters who have to get up for work early.

I guess it might be too much to ask what the problem was and how you resolved it? I think sharing the story might go a long way to help many of us appreciate your efforts even more. Even if it was a simple thing.

I think we may have learned a few things here:

1) Siege is a wildly popular feature of the game for many players.

2) Perhaps some resources should be put into making Siege a non-beta feature of the game with extra features?

3) Perhaps developing more robust group PvP content for PvE servers would increase sales and revenue?


The Aftermath:

Sadly, due to the sheer amount of time to fix SW, my guild has lost many key players due to lack of patience and frustration. It appears Siege War was kind of a binding aspect of the game and as certain key players left due to problems and were not on anymore, things eroded somewhat within the guild. We will need to do some rebuilding, and I know this is the case for many other guilds.

I'll be honest - I started playing another MMO and will be sharing my time now between two games (for now). The reason I did this was because I missed the group PvP events, and it turns out I really enjoy this game as well. I am however, looking forward to doing siege again, so I need to get some rust off and get back into the swing of RoM.

Congrats again on finding a fix!

Roeksha, you and the rest of the IT folk's efforts that lead to this solution are appreciated. Please relay that sentiment to the rest of the IT folk.

The next step is to perhaps take whoever is you all's new "siege IT expert" and see if they can lay out the technical fixes & much needed updates to this feature, put together a fancy list and drop it on runewaker's doorstep.

I don't really see this as a major issue. For most guilds, 36 people in siege would be a huge turnout. I'm not saying there aren't any that turn out 36 players, just that there aren't that many.

seriously, most guild have 10-20 peeps at the most, especially Artemis which is the land of many small guilds. I'm not sure why this is a huge deal. Just means you don't log your Alt crystal farmers on.
