This isn't a lag issue. It could be a bandwidth issue. It's certainly something to do with these new servers or some sort of bandwidth throttling. Typically though, server-client programs (if they're coded correctly), will simply start dropping the packets after timeout, instead of trying to process them this slowly. Something is not being balanced right for the load on these servers, or there's a setting causing the server to become overwhelmed with packets from each client, and instead of timing them out (Server data mis-match errors) it's continuing to try and process them. Socket timeout on most programs of this scale is 15-30 seconds. RoM's settings have to be 5-10 minutes. Not good.
If it is bandwidth throttling, then the servers should be dropping the connection altogether, not seemingly holding the packets in a queue to process later.
Come on Frogster/Runewaker, this is client-server architecture 101.
EDIT: Are the folks on EU servers having these issues? That should tell you right away if it's a server or a coding issue.

So here is a new one i have yet to see, we were in siege for 40 mins, lag started, we all got kicked to login screen, when we came back on, we arent even on siege list anymore. no result of a win or loss either way. lolwut right? before dc was runnin around, no towers, no guards, no balloons but a mage from the other side did manage to target and kill me though i couldnt see him. good thing i guess, if we both got kicked off of siege list since they glitched through wall and took out factory one in the beginning. anyhow, how we get kicked completely off siege list during siege?
Edit; siege is over and results are in for wins and losses and yep, we are not on the list nor is the guild we were fighting. awesome. is this something we should submit a ticket for or are gms compiling info from these threads?

If siege does not work why oh why do you put your customers do all the testing for you?
Take the junk off line and do your own testing..

They seem to have cut down on the number of guilds that can register now; apparently someone stupid decided to edit it during siege, the current registry count is 80 guilds.
It used to be 200 guilds, it has to be some sort of joke by Frogster along with the 36 people registry count.
And now, after siege registration only 69 guilds are registered? Something weird is apparently going on; I'd ask Frogster to explain this one.
Also, I haven't lagged the past 2 days, but the day before maintenance I had hideous lag, awesome how people call you lag hackers though when this problem has been all over the forums for the past 3 days.

The Guilds in Siege war have not been reduced to 80 as posted by Almondnut.
It is set at 200 at this point in time.
As far as I know, there are no plans to reduce it any lower.
Just hand in there and the IT's are working on it.

edit:I am positive at one point last year they cut the number allowed to sign up in half, if 200 is indeed the number you new fms and gms think it is, you better do some research. i remember a post in wich former gm swag discussed that they had indeed cut the number who could register in half to cut down on lag. if that change was removed, this is where this insane lag is coming from in siege. if the search function was working properly i could find the thread. but as im pretty certain of my memory i wont bother with google.

My guild was totally dropped after siege from the list. When we re-logged we could we others that had played but not ours. I then did a count of guilds in siege and came up with 88 pairs (176 guilds). Total Guilds in siege seems to have been increased.
It has been at 80 for some time. This maybe much of the problem as old servers could not hold that many guilds.
There are 154 guild signed up if my eyes read right today. (added as second edit)
