i counted 88 battles in the list 5 mins before siege. after i counted 80, so im guessing there were 16 guilds kicked like we were last night.

and the whole starting 5 mins early and ending 5 mins early kinda blows but whatever. tonight there are 156 guilds signed up for tomarrow so we will see who gets dropped off the list as 80 appears to be the cap.
maybe its a matter of the list is allowing more in than the server is set up to handle. well, we know that much. maybe that is the key, if there are more than 80 at the start, as time goes on it will worsen. dunno, it was a lagfest for sure.
i kept running to the bridge only to port back to the castle, i jumped off a cliff only to end up in front of the bridge, eventually i died, it is getting to be a gigantic joke though.

We had two guildies tonight who logged into a different siege than the one we were in on Reni. While I had almost no issues with unplayable lag, my leader failed to get back into siege after crashing out 20 minutes in, at least one was rubberbanding back and forth between the enemies' castle and ours, and one had actions occurring five minutes after having issued the command.

While I haven't laughed this hard in a while (because I'd have otherwise cried), I believe Siege needs to be taken offline (note, out of the game) and recoded from the ground up. The aggravation and stress the issues are causing to the vast majority of players US-side are only going to spread, and a "quick" fix is likely to result in even more problems further down the road.

20 minutes into siege, all going to plan. We had the middle ground & were well on the way to locking down an easy win.

1st sign of trouble was when at this point a late guildie tried to join siege. He opened the interface & it showed us as the losers & on his screen it was over.

The lag started then & all we could do was sit with 5 minute delay & watch the other side undo all of our work.

The other side had 6 or 7 people unlagged. We had 1 unlagged, we lost.

I didn't siege tonight, partly because of the lag. My guildies who did reported the same issues as the last three nights.

@LadyMcV- I would ask for that, that they just take the siege server down and recode, except for one thing: people would freakin' ragequit the game and Runewaker would take a year to recode.

They need to lock down the server issues, because they are obviously not just a side effect of bad software. There is evidence of badly managed hardware, and that should be fixable.

However, it's far past time for PvP in general and Siege War in particular to get some love from the devs. I know Swag said that SW would be in beta forever, but... really? Why? It's obviously one of the game's best loved features. Yeah, the engine is borked all to hell, but I'm sure Runewaker could fix it if someone applied a stiff enough boot to their buttocks. We all desperately want a siege that really works, and I think a lot of us would be willing to let them put off Chapter 5 for a few months to let them get it done.

Hello all,

I don't want to get any hopes up.. But I am pushing information out of people who would have it. I just talked to the EU QA. They informed me that the maximum guilds who can sign up should be 200-220 since that is what it is on EU. The servers are the same, so it should handle the same. However, I told him that we had to reduce the number in the past to reduce lag. I then said we have 164 currently signed up and that no more could sign up. I was then told that the number would be reduced to 150.

I asked if it would be in effect for today, tomorrow, or when. He said hopefully today. This probably won't take care of the lag, but a slim chance that it might. This will hopefully handle the guilds fighting multiple guilds, though.

If you guys can provide information that they might want to hear other than "this lag got to go", please do.

I too am seeing 176 signed up for tonight but siege is not full as my alt guild just signed up ( I will drop this guild as it does not siege atm). Number is now at 178.

Lag hit everyone on our team last night. It hits a little to start but keeps increasing if you get it. I was first to get lag about 20 minutes in where I had about a 3 second lag. This increased to the end of the match so when I bought Fots and Eyes 10 minutes before siege ended I received them in my bags after we tied and had left the battle. Max number in was around 30 again (Warrecord failed to record) for both teams.

Increasing the number but not knowing what the problem is may not be the best answer right now. (am I politically correct enough with that statement). Since lag starts at 20 minutes in or so my napkin math says taking it to 100 from the 154 will get most people most of a siege lag free if servers maybe the problem. Lots of guessing in that though but a good starting point.

A question to US users that play on Europe's siege:

Since we seem to soon be getting what Europe has how many is the maximum number players per team that can get into siege there on each team?

........

First and for most, this thread is ment to help frogster NOT pick on others for lack of gramer, or of spelling.

Second, ive found that if you can beat the guild your facing in under 20 mins or so you won't hit the lag issues.
this being said, i'm sorry to the guilds that have to "turtle" to win. (i.e. caping towers to win).
My only wish is that RoM gets fixed this is a GREAT game. I for one do not wish to see SW go. but a tem down time to rebuild would be the best salution. OR maby place SW with in it's own server and create something like a "world space", this might alow for more guilds to do SW, or at the least alow for better praformince in SW.

This is just a sugestion to froster, maby thay will take it in to consideration.

ye, i saw that too, but it sounds more like a band-aid than a fix since, as far as i am aware, the max number of guilds was at 200 before this all started anyway.

@Fandreith:

People already are rage quitting over Siege being borked as all hell. I would far rather wait a few months for Runewaker to code the thing correctly than have them try the quick fixes they always do, just to have the same issues happen again further down the road.

Reducing the number of guilds that can siege will alleviate a little strain on the server, but if the errors are due to the coding not working correctly or the hardware/software having gone bad... it won't fix anything, and will simply serve to lock more guilds out of siege.

Take it down. Examine the hardware, software, and coding for malfunctioning parts and/or redundancies. I believe that the community, at this point, is willing to do just about anything to get Siege working again- because as of right now, a lot of people can no longer participate. It isn't a quick fix, and it isn't something that should take only a month or two to complete.

Reset but not available at this time. Clicking Register does nothing. Does this mean siege is gone for tonight?

Just got done with siege war, the in game LAG was terrible but the chat was fine. I don't think reducing the number of registered guilds helped any. I crashed right at the end and received nothing with my character Brumere on my other account on the reni server. I think siege war needs to be taken away and re coded because it has been nothing but lag-fest from the start of the beta. I mean my skills were having like a 3-5 min delay, that's how bad it was.

Thanks..
