Tonight, we had no lag in sw but we finished around 20 min in. Last nite we did the entire sw and it was mostly good, no terrible lag and taking 5-10 min to get back into sw. Only like 2-4s of lag.

ok bizarre. I had no lag tonight. Me and maybe 3 other people from my guild could actually siege. The rest cannot play due to lag. So what changed on my side? Nothing. same computer, same location, same addons, etc, etc.

Siege does have problems but the same code is running on the EU siege server and there is no much mention of the lag problems on their forums. The problem here seems to be that the siege server is compromised in some way (whether hardware dying or someone owning it and messing up with it) and Frogster does not seem to have server admin on their payroll who can tackle the problem beyond adjusting small settings, rebooting the machine and wishing for the best. I have no doubt, someone will soon post here, in green or even red font, how Frogster does have admins and they are all great experts and the fix for lag is just around the corner, but based on what we see here day after day, I find that impossible to believe.

We were good 'till about 20 min in, then it slowly fell apart. The last 20 min was comical.

We had everyone lagging but in three distinct groups of lag. Like each group was on three different sets of synchronization or threads.

Herald spells would land on different people in three rounds. Lag ranges were anywhere from 30 sec to 5 min depending on who it was.

A bunch of us but not all got dumped to login screen at the end. Seemed like it was those of us that were having the longest lag.

We kept getting item data errors.

Well, tonight was honestly one of the worst sieges we've ever had.

Everyone in my guild had to wait at least 2 minutes for their skills to work. People were dc'ing left and right only to come back in and dc again. The lag was so bad that what was showing on our screens was literally 3-5 minutes behind what was actually going on. Then those of us who were fortunate enough to still be in siege at the end were directly sent to the login screen.

So much fun /sarcasm

Seriously....unfair, unacceptable, and uncalled for.

Siege worked fine for me tonight. Lots of lag as usual, but no delays at all like a couple days ago. West Coast ftw!

i said it before an ill say it again, a while back it was 200 guilds per night, they cut it in half, down to 100. 150 is still too many. for whatever reason last year when former staff did that, it helped a bunch. feu u seem to not have access to records of changes fa made in regards to siege in order to get it to work semi ok. make some phone calls, search the forums. the facts are there. thats when all the whining about how impossible it is to sign up for siege war started. they reduced the number by a lot. they had to. maybe with ur infinite wisdom yall can fix what fa couldnt but so far it is not looking that way from where i sit. good luck with that though.

Did not see a change in SW quality.

Took approximately 35 seconds to put down an Eye of True Knowledge after activating it in my inventory.

Walking up on towers, it took approximately 30 seconds minimum for the tower to even appear.
Teammates told me that they would see me by our A-side tower, when I was in fact at the back of the castle. I followed a Rogue (same server), we were both in hide, around my castle for over 2 minutes. I was on top of him the entire time, and I could not use Shadow Prison, Ranged attacks, or any melee. Even when he stopped moving, I could not attack. Randomly, I finally killed him even when I wasn't attacking.

There was perhaps 3-4 people out of 30 that experienced little lag (0-3 seconds) and were able to function. Reducing the number of registered guilds is not going to solve the problem. It's been working "decently" for months and all of a sudden went to crap in the last week. This is something on your end, and someone needs to figure out what changed.

Small update about the situation, today during the US Maintenance we have made minor changes to the settings of our Battleground server which will hopefully improve the performance. Please let us know how it goes tonight.

FFS, the players have to still solve your problems for you frogster.

IT IS NOT PING/ROUTE RELATED. If it was it would be CONSISTENT for all of siege.
To make you guys happy I'll even run a few scripts at set intervals for the duration of siege. I will post back to here with the results if siege is still has the 20 minute mark lag

This is not true, at least the 150 guilds part. It is now 160 guilds (just counted- about to recount....)

Now i am not someone who knows everything but i was sure the limit never was 200 anyways. If i remembered right that was changed long time ago.

There is a chance that he is right about the 200 though he was wrong about the 150 so i would not be to sure.

He's not attacking through the walls, flyingltj, he's positioning the tornado so that it moves laterally across the gate to maximize the damage. The whole purpose of the herald tornado is to take down gates, and by it's very nature it moves across all obstacles, so I can't imagine how anyone could view that as an exploit. :eek:

Isn't 150 an even number? 75 + 75 = 150, no? Although, this is Froggy we're talking about, so if anyone could break the laws of the time-space continuum, it would be them lol. I guess we'll just have to see if we have issues tonight.

By this same logic, positioning a tornado in such a way to hit buildings through walls is perfectly acceptable.

Plus I never said exploit, you did.

Being without shame & playing dirty doesnt always involve exploiting.
