New player about to start today:

Hello all, so ive been doing a little research and am in dire need of a new game to start playing. League of legends just isnt cutting for me anymore, and I look to rejoin the mmorpg genre. Ive heard good things about RoM, so I decided I would give it a shot.

I am a pvp freak I guess would be the best way to put it. I love pvp in mmos and its basically why I enjoy playing games. I tend to play the up in your face warrior style character wielding a big 2 handed weapon to do some damage and just be a menance in your face.

With that in mind I was hoping you guys could help me out here. I am wondering if there is any certain server you would recommend for a pvp player like myself.

Also, what class combination would you suggest? It seems for my play style it would come down to warden or warrior, knight seems a little to defensive for my taste.

I am an average player when it comes to gaming, and just want to be up in your face ripping it off haha. Any recommendations would be welcomed. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Edit: Also was wondering I know the game is free to play, but will I have to pay in order to be competitive?

welcome to PVP =) If you choose Grimdal, you will help bring the population up and provide MORE than a bit of interest and challenge haha. The game if ftp and you honestly can advance this way althought its way slower - you can spend cash on diamonds in the cash shop to help u advance faster and they have sales like double diamonds for your dollar quite often. Its really up to you, as there is many different levels of players, and by that i mean levels of geared up. If ya come to grimdal give me a holler, our guild is known for its generosity to new players, and helping others. We would be glad to give you advice as well as invite you to the guild if you like. Have fun !

Welcome to the game, i am not sure about what server you should play but you might want to think of being a warrior/rogue.

They are the fast in your face damage dealers. The game overall is 100% free to play. RoM has a system i like where a free player can buy with gold anything a paying player can if you find a seller. Though this does mean people who pay will move up in the game a lot fast but depending on how you play your cards you will not be to far behind or even ahead.

In order to become competitive for free though, be prepared to spend a little more time gathering the necessary resources to gear your character.

Grimdal is older, and for that reason has some old time PvP players who log on from time to time (like myself). I'm not sure about the overall player base though as I have not been active enough recently.

Warrior/Rogue would be my suggestion as well if you want to be an in your face PvP'er. I prefer rogue primary though as you can burst DPS a lot easier in a battle but that's just my preference.

I don't play anymore but I read/comment on the forums now and then, waiting for something to entice me to come back.
