Unfair/Unbalanced Matches in Siege

For the last 3 nights in a row, our guild has been matched up with guilds who have anywhere between 5000-8000+ more points than us... yet we have at least a half dozen or more guilds who fall in our point ranges.

How does ROM match guilds up for siege? What is the criteria for matching a low point guild (2800) with a guild of higher points (10,000+)? Can someone explain this to me in English?

Thanks.

That does seems little odd since RoM would usually put you up to a guild that has the closest score to you. 10k versus 2.8k if way off the match up line rofl. If you think about it though, why not win as the 2.8k war point guild and claim 1,000 war points... pretty amazing.

This has happened to us 3 nights in a row... not only that but the last guild we battled was the same guild as 2 nights ago... with over 8k+ points.

I still would like to see a response to my original post... and anyone with a formula for matching guilds up, please post. Thanks!

What happens is right before matching occurs a high point guild drops from the siege queue which wrecks the pairing, it's a problem that they don't seem to want to fix (which could have been fixed by stopping people from dropping the queue last minute).

I've come to think that there are guilds who do that on purpose just to have easier fights on the high end of things, either that or they want diversity.

But I'm fairly certain that most people use it to exploit the siege matching system, the only thing is that it only works on the high point end.

I would understand if they wanted diversity because if you look at the high point end, there really aren't that many there. Those high end point guilds would basically be fighting the same few guilds over and over with little diversity.

Some of the guilds at the top have also stayed at the top for extremely long periods of time without any guild capable of knocking their score down so there should also be something issued that creates more of a challenge for THE guild at the top so they don't stay at the top.

Yes. XD I swear we fought nobody except Bteam and Noteworthy for about a week straight.. it was terrible. At least our points finally dropped enough where we're back to guilds more our level.

The sw point pairing system is definitley borked.

But this raises the question...

If the siege pairing system were working better... would this make siege any more fair?

The answer is no. The reason? So many so-called endgame guilds do siege on what is becoming known as "easy mode."

Since frogster has passively endorsed through non-action the concept of allowing guilds to create ghost guilds for low siege scores, then transfer all the members from one guild into a guild with a very low score for consistant wins, then siege matchups will never be fair.

Of course, it is funny when these folks siege for so long on easy mode, then end up matched against a guild with people 1/2 as geared and get a severe beating because they dont know strategy or how to work together :P But that is a small victory in a huge problem.

we faced Heretics the other nite(9k points) vs. Prodigy(2.5k points),unfair matchup but we are same server so it was fun for the 10 mins it lasted lol.i killed Firetruck and Dakko ,they killed me repeatedly for 10 mins :)
this type of matchup happens too much if we had faced another server it wouldnt have been as much fun.we just tried to get a couple kills and well we did.like most things that are borked froggy and runewaker wont do anything to fix this.i believe they are figuring out how a dwarf works.
