PvP servers: Too hard to go blue

As I sit here on my red character with 5 mages spamming purg on my rez spot and die in the neighborhood of 10 times I can't help but think to myself "this doesn't seem very neutral". Why is it that neutrals can kill reds indiscriminately with no risk of going blue? If you're not going to act neutral then you shouldn't BE neutral.

They do not force PVP onto people, like we do.

Unfortunately, the current PVP system is rather broken, ever since the implementation of Neutral players ... PVP is no longer worth it.

If you cannot handle the play-style of a Red player, I suggest... you use some Declarations of Neutrality and go White.

It's about neutrals being able to kill reds indiscriminately without any real boost in reputation. I have a few neutral chars as well and just to test if it was level difference or something started attacking every red char I saw. After around 20 kills of players my level I went from 1 to a whopping 1.3 positive reputation. If you kill reds every time you see them you're not neutral, amirite?

I do have to agree, there seems to be an imbalance in positive rep gain versus negative. You kill 3 neutrals, and you're a red, with a yellow symbol. I can kill reds all day and never go blue... I don't even know what the number of kills it requires to go blue is anymore.

I agree that the system has been somewhat broken ever since it was implemented.

However, the reason it is tougher to go blue is because when the server started being blue actually gave you benefits in terms of a decreased drop rate (as low as 5%). At this time as well, whites had a 10% drop rate, and going red increased overall drop rate to 80-100%. Going red was much easier, and gave the red player the advantage of possible valuable drops. Hence why the current rep system is the way it is.

Being red used to be a lot of fun, as you could run around being obnoxious, forcing PvP on people and stealing their items. The old system penalized players for this style of gameplay.

I agree that the amount of rep gained/lost when going red/blue should be equal as they both increase your drop rate from zero, with no other specific benefits. Considering how much more white players a red player will kill, the red player would still become "red" faster than a blue player with the same goal. This is because the blue player must kill solely red players rather than the plethora of whites a red can attack.

im under the impression to gain rep u have to kill a red ur same lvl, but i have noticed killing reds all day long my rep never goes above 3.00. but, those are usually lower level reds. any red worth his salt my level eats me alive. as im just a piddly warden.
