We've had it tried on us a couple of times. Just let them drop a lot before you AoE them. The pain inflicted by the quick loss of all those merits seems to stop them trying again.

30 faces on a gate x 30k hp each one = 900k combat damage. Do it 5 times or so, just so I can be #1 combat unit again. Thanks.

When this forum post went up, I thought to myself.. Thats interesting:confused:. And then last night my guild fought against [guild name redacted], did this exact same trick:mad:. My gates were going down so fast, we had 2 healers and were able to keep them out for at least 50 mins of the hour. I'm not sure if this is an exploit or not, but its damn sure annoying. It doesnt help that the healers were getting nailed by all of the pets through the gates as well, and of course that damn Iceblade crap. And then that really fun moment when I found a parrot attacking the crystal.... good times good times..

Our last siege against them I trolled their castle and waited just for him, everytime I one shot him I would say dirtnap, after the 4-5th time he just laid dead for the rest of siege he said "would you just take our crystal".

But on the note of FoT's I agree. Scrolls/raid burns/tornado are all faster ways to take gates down. This would be a method for low level guilds that can not clear a group of FoT with one thunderstorm.

Winston, your part of PEW PEW, do you guys actually enter the siege or do you just sign up and hit enter and the enemy's crystal just takes itself out of fear?

I'm pretty sure BTeam doesn't give a RIP for what PPK thinks.

I personally think its a cheap, honor-less way to siege. I just do not understand how it is considered fun, especially for those guilds that are short on people.

We have been sieging the same guild for the past few nights. We have outnumbered them 2-1, it would have been incredibly easy to treach their gates, enter their castle and take down their procs... but how is that fun?

The guilds that treach gates are usually the same ones that shoot through walls, lure the honor guard over to take down gates, tornado through walls, etc. IMO its poor sportsmanship.

The “win at all costs, cut throat” mentality is putting a damper on what should be a fun, friendly competiton. :(

Wow.. I thought to myself, "that was fast", thought someone created 12 pages of QQ just in the few hours since I last checked. Then I noticed this was 2 months old.

/wave @ Holy :)

Clockwork put an eye on our gate last time we faced them, couple nights ago, so we decided to do the same, but only because they did it first -- and we didn't really have a chance to win anyway. I guess they were not pulling any stops this time, since we beat them the time before :P

No hard feelings on my part though, I think if RW makes them do damage on the gates, it is probably by design, so who am I to judge someone who uses them? They are easy enough to counter against also, so not a big deal IMO, not like some other hacks that really aren't fun to deal with.

Yea, I don't find damage done by a bunch of FoT's on a gate is considered a true exploit.... Thoooo I do feel any guild doing this is weak and not able to fight toe to toe against the guild they are facing and using this as a "ninja" technique (similar to capping the back towers at the last second with a hidden rogue and fearless). If they were as strong they would make a push and hold their ground at the gate while tornadoes and scrolls and dps on the gate was done. WEAKLINGS unit!!

yeah because staring at a gate for an hour is fun...

While I would agree that using treches to take down a gate isn't very classy, it's become a necessary evil in siege anymore. Any guild you face is gonna do this to you, so you really don't have a choice in the matter.

but, its siege WAR, within the boundaries of the game TOS, winning at all costs is the point. We use it occasionally when we face a no show guild or a guild with only 3 or 4 lowbies show up. Why waste time in a siege like that?

IMO its just faster, run to middle, take and secure mid towers with a few bodies, forward line proceeds to enemy castle, takes last two towers, by then they have enough merits for faces for the gate and the inner gate if they get that far. its only an hour long. how much time do you spend in your castle planning?

Admittedly, we did have a "lets roll them" mentality in that siege. I know I personally buffed to to the max possible (that I know of), 298k hp druid coming in. Meant business >:O We felt like a lot of things had gone wrong last time, people didnt show up, we got pushed on our heels, etc etc, so this time we had to make sure we had a dominant win.

Always very fun fighting against Bteam, PPK, sometimes even Noto. Just wish there was more variety in competition. Anything under the 10k bracket is usually a steamroll, and there are only 2 other active guilds above that >.< Other servers need to step up their siege!

If I was awake, I would take offense at that.

If it makes you feel any better Raves, we're more or less in the same shoes. Steamroll or be steamrolled. Bteam, and for some reason, Silentjustice lately, have been bringing the good sieges. I dunno if SJ merged, or they just overnight got some peeps uber geared, but they're a power to be reckoned with now. 35 vs 35 or thereabouts- it's like Clash of the Titans. Bodies everywhere!

Bteam on the other hand, is lean and mean. Saela alone usually does enough damage to make up for 5 other people. And Shin is still Shin. Eek! We were on a tying streak with them, but apparently we won against them last week when I wasn't there. So, I think that's a good argument for us doing better when I don't show lol.

But, yeah- siege for us is either PPK/Clockwork rapage or us raping everyone else... unless we pull Bteam or SJ- and that doesn't happen enough. It makes siege less fun :(

(and we'd be in the 10k bracket if we didn't pull PPK three times a week grrr!)
