Siege Gate Buffs

Bleeds were removed which I understand as you could rip down a gate in less then a minute solo and with that HoTs were also removed.
BUFFS however still remain which im not sure why as it seems people are abusing them more then people did the bleeds. Pretty much only druids are causing this like the automatic 40% healing thing is just ridiculous.

Then in siege today I saw this, wtf is this? lol

Briar shield D/Wd, probably someone buffing the gate by accident, I dont think it does a whole lot if you do it either way unless you hit the gate with melle and even then it does very little if anything at all...

On other notes that's D/W's Nourish you're talking about and it heals for 15% when the hp of target is below 40%.

It's the Druid/Warden briar sheild, slightly bugged in a good way right now. The pdef part of Briar sheild doesnt work for them when casted on someone other than them, shows up as sysnote when displayed.

There's another crazy troll spell you can use which i will not name, but its op on a gate lol.

The buffs do not help the gate much either way if its going down it will go down no matter what, the exception being the d/w nourish and i guess whatever that "crazy troll spell" is :)

Aside from that the only remotely helpful buff that we can cast on the gate is either the priest's or the druid's 20% increase in recieved healing that will help heal the gate.

So ya I think lets keep the buffs on the gates they are not really op in anything :p

Yes, nourish is ridiculous. That should not be allowed to percent heal a gate.

At the very least... if NOurish can heal a gate... I want sacrificial cure to!

Aside from what was already mentioned elsewhere in this thread, there are a nice variety of spells that work on gates to gain all kind of minor defensive boosts. But since most people (as far as siege goes) cannot see past r/s, p/s, p/k, s/k, s/wd, or d/s... then expect to continue to be befuddled by the buffs you encounter.

Maybe its time you test out some of the more unconventional class combos. Knowledge is power.

yes theres massive defense buffs that work on the gate and even damage absorbs

Because it's idiotic that you have to have 2+ scrolls and Tornado all going off at EXACTLY the same time to take a gate down before a d/w can heal it back up. And Tornado is hard as hell to get off if there's just one single tower up, so you're relying on scrolls. It's just stupid how fast a D/W can heal a gate up alone.

the one that does amazingly creative carpentry remodeling on the gate is epic. giving you a gate twisted sideways..but fully functional. -ish

you can just walk around it. but its still tough as nails to take down

Gates essentially cannot be damaged by players, but can be healed insane amounts >.> Along with odd buffs. I agree, gates should not receive buffs, including nourish. In fact, I dont think gates should receive heals except from siege engines, or siege towers.

Why are we complaining about gates?

Cause you might have to look at it to see what someone cast on it and react to it? And not be guaranteed a takedown with a scroll and a tornado? You might actually have to, like, work for a gate?

I dunno, I like buffs working on gates. There are offensive debuffs, and passive buffs that do interesting things, and people smart enough to actually do the research and run the strange combos deserve to reap some benefits.

People are just too used to seeing gates go down fast in this game. Impatience is rampant in our 1 shot hour we call siege war, so much so that people QQ when they can't take down a gate.

Its 1 hour of every day. Out of everything in siege, people complain about - gates? One of the *few* things RW actually listened about.

Sorry you can't just roflstomp a gate whenever you like. But that's what they're there for - to stop you from getting inside.

fan if we dont have something to complain about..we're just going to make something up. Oo at least this way some forum idiot isnt making addons to soul bond gates automatically.

they should make gates hit back. or lev75 hard mode versions randomly spawning. war record would be funny. Core vs Furious Gate 0:10,000...get the gates banned for hacking then. hmmm

Except...you can just roflstomp a gate? And that is the only way to deal with gates. The only way to take out a gate is to use scrolls and a tornado and essentially take it out in one go. (Or use faces of trech, which totally shouldent work anyways)

Imagine this scenario: gates take slightly more damage, not as much as dots used to do but more than normal attacks do now. Then remove scrolls, fix faces, make it so nourish doesnt work on the gate, and cut the healing a gate receives by 10-20% (via a permanent unclensable debuff). Now you are FORCED to beat on the gate (or use siege engines) and spend time to take it out, no easy mode with scrolls or faces. AND you have a chance to take it out since heals were nerfed.

You can already cut the healing of gates down to almost nothing if you take advantage of one of those tricksy debuffs I was referring to.

And it's already too easy to take a gate down.

So, they have a gazillion flames up that you can't kill? NP, just go get four scrolls. Poof, gate dead.

If anything, they should get rid of scroll damage- you and I agree on that. You can beat a gate down by hand, and it doesn't even take all that long- it's just a lot slower than the rogue/rape of chap 4. I think gates should be a real challenge.

The thing I LIKE about Nourish and the other buffs is that it adds something strategic to the fight. If you have a d/w, if you have a p/r or a d/r, you can actually do some interesting stuff. It adds a dimension to the fight.

I wish they'd add more stuff like that. Less brute force, more asking people to come in on their weird other class combo.

People shouldn't have to come in on a P/R and suck in the rest of sw just to stop the other team from healing the gate. Plus, doe shte p/r debuff even affect nourish?

And there's absolutely nothing strategic about having a d/w put nourish on a gate and stand back and watch it heal the gate against an entire guild.
