Think of "resistance" in this terms.
Magical defense ----> physical defense
Magical Resistance ---> dodge
Wisdom gives both magical defense, and magical resistance, theres a difference between the 2. Magical defense lowers damage taken from magical attacks. Magical resistance completely nullifies the attack, cause it to "resist", therefore taking 0 damage.
Priests actually get more mdef per wisdom than druids do. Problem is most priests stop at the wisdom cap for them (~7k wisdom), while most end-game druids have 10-16k wisdom unbuffed (I have 12k unbuffed). Add in the druid wisdom bonus passive and the casted wisdom buff... xD
I really do believe at some point healers will be almost impossible to kill for mages who have very little magical accuracy (only gained from wisdom, and since mages do not stack wisdom... another xD ).
To put it into perspective:
Most end game mages have around 3k-4k magical accuracy, unbuffed. They'll buff to maybe 5k magical accuracy.
Sitting unbuffed with 12k wisdom I have 7.6k magical resistance. Buffed to 16k wisdom (I stat a bit more pdef for siege than most), I get 10k magical resistance.
5k magical accuracy vs 10k magical resistance - and I'm not a full wisdom druid.
If you want to increase your magical accuracy without losing out on dps for pve, invest in Sorcery Runes (INT/WIS).
Long post is long so gonna end it here.
