Serious Lag Problems?

Last night I was sieging and me and my guildees started immediately experiencing problems right off the bat (more than 3 of us).

Whenever we'd get in range of more than one enemy on the screen the game would start to "freeze" over, I'd drop from 35-40 FPS to around 5 for no particular reason other than the enemy being there.

I run a machine that has no problem running most modern games much less RoM so I found it very odd especially since I've never ran into a problem like this before except on crappy computers when I had to travel.

I've had screen freeze on me too with FPS dropping to 1, but a relog usually solves the problem for me.

I've had only a few minor lag issues (rubberbands, mostly) in siege the past few days. Out of siege, the most serious one was a 5K lag spike that lasted 5-8 seconds and caused a guildie to croak in WA. Had him targeted and was pounding on UH, but no joy.

Ruisen: Part of your problem is your computer's crappy video chipset. But you already knew that. :D

Hey hey, my FPS is usually standard except for that one freeze per month -_-

a point to bring up that I've been looking out for recently is if anyone has noticed certain aggs will have high detail textures even on low detail game settings. A person could purposly find a bunch and wear it to siege then every time their character loads on others computers it's extra strain. I've only noticed maybe 1 or 2 people doing it though and I don't think it's too big an impact anyway but texture loading is what causes the invisable people so it may be related.

Generally speaking I restart my client like 10 minutes before siege most of the time, I don't feel like I should have any sort of lag advantage and encourage guildees to do the same. It was just particularly weird that it hit a number of us in our guild though.

As far as the load problem, I run RoM off an SSD there isn't much load strain that I have to deal with, hell I make siege videos and multiclient when the lag started happening to me I went down to one client and I was still facing the same issues. I also close all my chrome/firefox tabs and every other application but my music, I haven't even been running with Bandicam lately (I just got it set back up).

I'm just hoping this is a one-off siege bug, I'll report back to this topic tonight after I siege and I'll turn on my bandi if it starts happening again.

whats really bothering me is we all know that porting in siege is just lag not hacks at this point(there is a port thing but it acts way different) and when you simply try and tell the opposing guild/player they get all mad and think your just QQ'ing.

or the odder thing like for me in siege today(you can check within the next hour which guild) was just trying to tell 1 guy that he was porting so bad I couldnt land a single attack for 10 seconds strait him and a friend told me "I" was hacking... lol?

but for fps lag? I haven't noticed anything really.

I think it's something wrong with my video card in particular, I just got a new one, it's configured right and everything but I don't know.... I'm having no problems at all inside of instances...

yea, theres been lots of lag in siege, since the last patch its either RoM or the enemy guild has found a new hack.. (in which case RoM is still to blame) guildmembers who dont usually lag are lagging and DC'ing, its frustrating losing your herald or mems, and such
