Hello, I am the Heavensfury complaint department representative and I can assure you that we do not allow exploits of any kind.

Have a nice day :)

WHAAAAAT I already talked with a few others about the screenshots and just about everything was worked out but I'll even say this publicly if anyone from any guild uses the method to rebuild your gates away from the spot(like HF did 6+ times) I will break your rebuild. It's clearly an exploit and I will use one back if anyone continues to do that. so.... dont do that lol

exploits are hacks now? thats interesting. Had issues with other guilds but HF was so clean and great last fight that I was really surprised this time.

OT I want a 4 hour siege :( I bet some of those were crazy epic

I know the difference between the two >> why did you ask people to not call hacks? same reason you shouldn't call exploits. Think about what someone tells you before you answer

I'm not saying you shouldn't contact a guild who you suspect was using a hack or exploit. I'm saying that you shouldn't be doing it on the thread YOU made telling people not to do things like that within their comments (I know you only said hacks, but people have the same basic response to exploits, e.g screenshots, our guild doesn't do these things, that it isn't a/an exploit/hack, and bashing the other guild).

^You need to understand THAT and only that is what I'm trying to tell you. I never said let them do what they want. I'm trying to tell you that you weren't putting into practice what you (I think) wanted to happen with this thread

"Just about every exploit in the book"
Just about every hack in the book

People will respond the same way. If you don't want those types of responses then don't instigate them

People will respond the same way, but there is a difference between calling out "OMG HAX" and "Your people used a known exploit" especially when it comes to the guilds who cheerlead themselves up to be clean players.

If a guild is consistently saying "We dont do that" to other people they siege against in regards to exploits... well, there is a reason they're having to repeat themselves against regular accusations to the contrary. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out why.

This is most often the case in my experience, and its not a matter of calling someone out on being an exploiter or supporter of the use of exploits... its about calling out a guild leader/spokesman out as being a hypocrite for saying one thing, and doing/practicing the complete opposite.

--------

Now back to the good siege topic (sorta :D). Last night we sieged the Fire Festival and it was a complete letdown. The fire festival played quite efficiently though, defeating our guild a complete four days prior to the start of last night's siege. I hear that in a few days they will build up enough negative population points to siege gameforge themselves, and will probably defeat gameforge quite easily at the rate the fire festival is going.

I get what you mean, but eventually someone would've tried to contest with Bakken from one of his comments and cause the thread to go way off-topic (sorta kinda has a little bit from my explanations, but I felt it was necessary).
If that is what Bakken meant (stating rather than whining) then I didn't interpret that from his forum post until you suggested that it was what it might have meant.

I'd understand if he was trying to make the community learn about what he witnessed during siege against a guild so that the community will be aware the next time they face the guild in question, but because of how people talk about how opposing guilds hack/exploit people on the forums, players of the guilds will lash out.

That statement assumes the post claiming "every exploit in the book and using 3rd party software" was true to begin with, which it wasnt. Basically he saw lag and a gate go up when the person wasnt directly standing on the hammer, because moving when a dialog box is up is apparently an exploit (same as you can do when speaking to snoop or a housemaid or literally anything). Now whether or not that is an "exploit," I've yet to see determined and haven't seen even commented on in the forums.

Though it isnt like it matters anyway since no one is sieging. Good siege fire festival.

When mentioning 3rd party software, yes that qualifies for accusing of hacks

Where are the KNOWN exploits listed?

Siege should be about good sportsmanship. There are very few guilds left that siege without using questionable tactics.

To get back on subject....

Thank you to the guilds that do not:

Treach/Sea washed stone gates.
Use Chiron to slaughter the people healing the treached gates.
Send Spirit of the Oak to kill the people that have rez'd on the castle roof.
Rebuild gates from yards away.
Insult, call hacks.
Intentionally walk through walls.
Intentionally port due to instance lag.
Jump over walls.
Send Spirit of the Oak to kill towers and people on the roof.
Etc.

BTW War-record is a great addon for making a note of which guilds use questionable tactics.

Many of them are deemed exploits by GMs, CMs, or whatver. Like, I can link to threads where they say damaging buildings without taking down a gate is an exploit or jumping over/walking through walls. And I can also link, unfortunately, to where they say treaching is not an exploit, though I still don't like it.

Either way, the initial claim of using every exploit in the book and 3rd party software was false to begin with, so saying that "we no longer do those things" because of his comment is also inherently false. That's like if I accuse someone of clubbing baby seals, and now that I made a post about it, they no longer club baby seals, is a bit misleading.
