Theorycraft re: PvP damage reduction gear

So looking at the new "Honor" gear. Reduces damage from players by %. Add up many pieces and you get something upwards of 50% damage reduction.

How do you all think this will play out?
- Do you make a separate set of PvP gear? (costs a lot)
- Do you stat it with more attack powers to counteract the dmg reduction that other people will now have?


Disclaimers: It's too early to know a lot of stuff.
- Does the actual % damage reduction match what is shown on armors?
- How will most people gear in response? (differently?)


Just a few nights back Champ+P/K faced off against Warden+P/K. I was the champ. It went on for minutes and one side ran off instead of dieing. Only people that died were the lesser geared folks that showed up, died, ran back, died again... Will this become extremely common thanks to damage reduction gear?

Honestly, PvP has been too fast for my taste for a long time. But going too far the other way and no one dies doesn't seem fun either.
